Obama has defined immigration by using the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act which Reagan signed. The critics against that act correctly said that we will end up with bigger problems (such as an increase in illegal immigrants which went from just over 1 million then to about 11 million now) later on which are happening now. It isn't reform when he is basically rereading a law that is 14 years old law. Maybe we it would be better to use the French Foreign Legion system.

I have a solution to the immigration issue: if an immigrant wants to come here to live, he/she must go immediately into the military service for at least 2 years. If that person is too old to serve, we don't need you, stay in your country. A) The Right Proposal: Abolish minimum wage and expulsion of immigrant laborers without documents with severe penalty to employers hiring them.
B) The Left Proposal: Set up centers to register immigrant laborers. Establish and enforce minimum wages. And severe penalty to employers hiring illegals.

Illegals can't pay taxes because their wages are under the table, and they'd need valid SS numbers. Only citizens have those. They send the money they make back to "la familia" or coyotes.
The DREAM Act is nothing more than amnesty for the criminals who are using their children for citizenship. "Well, their children are citizens, gosh, how could we send their parents back now?"

also tomatoes on my island can cost up to 4 dollars a pound for gourmet, and about 1 to 2 dollars per pound for mainland tomatoes. We also had a similar case in Hawaii recently with workers from thailand under similar circumstances. its called indentured labor and it is how hawaiis sugar industry dominated sugar in america for years. it is still going on here.

Yea, I think marijuana should be legalize AND the naturalization process should be shortened, made easier, and less expensive to the people who want to come to this country. I think undocumented workers should be given rights, like all workers should, so they are not exploited by employeers and forced into modern-day debt-peonage. I'm consistent in my view of extending individual liberties. You're pretty consistent in your view of taking those liberties from people you just don't like.

Yea, the availabiltity (or lack thereof) of jobs in this country is a result of globalization, not immigration. The problem isn't that immigrants get jobs, the problem is that large corporations move jobs out of the country. By the way, globalization, ironically, led to increased Mexican immigration. U.S. companies who moved to Mexico offered high-paying jobs(by Mexican standards--$10/day) for a short time, but then moved to Indonesia (or elsewhere) about 10 years later for even cheaper labor.

Legalizing all drugs is stupid. Marijuana is harmless and beneficial in a number of ways. The plant itself has many uses. Hemp can be used to make paper and clothes, and can be grown in any environment cheaply, which would prevent futher deforestation. As a narcotic, the drug is useful for legitimate medical reason
