  • is it PC compatible?

  • I should have bought the Tournament Edition one. it's just that I wanted to put some money aside to preorder Super Street Fighter IV that I ended up buying the Standard Edition. maybe next time I get money saved up, I'm going for the Tournament Edition. you can quote me on that

  • does it work good for soul calibur 4 and doa4 or just street fighter 4

  • dude this is an arcade stick, so it is just awesome for fighting games

  • @lorden95 anything literally someone even used it for halo 3

  • where can i buy it????

  • I've heard that the non-tournament stick had a problem and degraded.

    Was that fixed?

  • Which stick is better, the Tournament edition, custom stick or the SE stick?

  • r u joking??? if u looked anywhere on the internet, including youtube, then you probably know that SE stick is garbage. Insensitive buttons and joystick, too light.

Everyone's been moding their SE sticks cause of the horrible buttons and stick, with that money you should just go straight for a TE stick.

  • the se stick sucks, i got both of them. the se stick has a faulty joystick washer which after a few hrs of gameplay, starts getting loose causing the joystick to wabble and damages it. the te stick is sweet though.

  • I have heard nothing but good things about these sticks!! I might get the cheaper one and buy the Sanwa upgrade from one of the Internet companies.

  • Are those region free?

  • damn look at 3:48-3:52 on the te stick looks so shiny im happy this is coming in 1-2 days WOOT!

  • which fight stick for street fighter should i buy if u count out the price?

  • Tournament Edition or a custom stick.

  • kay then Tournament Edition ;)

  • The better one of course. But you can also get the "lower end" stick AKA The White One and drop in some top of the line Sanwa buttons and Joystick and have a ALMOST EQUAL stick to the more expensive one. The additional Sanwa buttons and joystick will set you back about 30 bucks. It's still less than the more expensive one though.

  • I apologize in advance for sounding like a n00b, but can someone PLEASE answer me this question. Why should i buy one? They are SOOOO expensive? Are these sticks for showing off? Or do they improve your game. I think Im pretty good with the 360 controller since i made my won configuration. The local store next to me has one more left. Should i buy it? Someone please help me.

  • re: ilovesmashbros

Well the answer to that is "Maybe"

Bottom line, if you want to buy a decent stick, you're going to be spending around the same amount of bank.

(And probably wanting to buy more stuff for it, like extra length USB cables, and a Sanwa GT-Y restrictor plate)

    _

As for a solid upgrade compared to the 360 controller, you could just spend $40 on the SF4 FightPad. The D-Pad is a huge upgrade compared to the XBox default one.

  • re: ilovesmashbros

Or to put it another way.

There's basically only 3 options for quality joysticks.

    1) Buy a SF4 TE Stick ($150)

    2) Buy a SF4 SE Stick and upgrade it with new parts ($135)

    3) Buy a HRAP3 Stick and upgrade it with new buttons ($160)

After you start including shipping for the previous two, it's basically all a wash in costs. TE is your simply your best option when it comes to a joystick.

    _

That said, I'd still suggest you give the SF4 Fightpad a try.

  • will this stick work with any arcade game?

is KOF XII gona have its own fight stick?

  • i have the SE stick, watching this makes me wanna get the TE edition....

  • re: Cr3581

That or buy a couple parts from Lizard Lick Amusements (or other website) and modify the SE to have the same parts as a TE:

    $25 JLF-TP-8YT-SK stick

    Eight OBSF-30 buttons ($24)

    $6 shipping

Still though, that's saving you only $15 compared to just buying the TE originally at $150 ;D

  • The TE is actually better. It's made with Sanwa parts, which are parts from a major Japanese arcade parts manufacturer. The parts are MUCH better than the SE stick, which are NOT Sanwa parts. It is supposed to feel just like a SF4 cabinet in Japan.

I bought the SE, and have ordered Sanwa parts to mod it, because it's a cheaper alternative, without too much of a loss in quality.

  • Come on guys!!! You could make it perfect if the start and back buttons werent placed there!!! Idiots!!!!

  • holy shit the music was fuckin annoying and too loud

  • big deal.

the white one is cheaper, and the same, it's not like the red one will be responsive faster or anything, just brand names now a days . -.-

  • Is this X360 TE Stick also PS3 compatible? because it has a USB cable and the PS3 has USB ports too, so i would like to know if it is compatible for both systems, reply please!

  • it's not, but you can mod it for both systems

  • It cant suck its made out of Sanwa parts same as all the arcade machines.

  • My bank ballance is at £10 now thanks Capcom you bastards. TE Stick on way

  • Hmmmm guess what this weeks pay is going towards....

  • Ive got the Tournament stick for 360 and PS3 its awsome!!

  • I got a Tournament edition stick for the PS3 and yes its fucking awesome well worth every penny in my opinion =)

  • For somereason i just fucking find it hard to useeee is my first time using a stick but then again even though i find it hard to use am starting to forget my control pad weather it exit and ive masterd it soo hard that no one online can beat me but now am tryna start with a stick give me some info how to grab the stick i got the TE by the way i just cnt find a way to grab it and how about the buttons if i put all my fingers on the punch button i end up pressing one of them by accisdent help

  • Go for whatever feels natural - there is no best 'way' to hold a stick in my opinion (remember the TE is very responsive). If you don't like the main button setup, maybe the straight 'outer six' setup would be better for you? As I live in Europe the straight outer setup is more natural (from when there used to be arcades here!), I'm happy either way.. To be honest though, some people are just more comfortable with a pad - if you've never used a stick before it may seem strange for a while..

  • Is my first time using an arcade stick for a long while because i aint been to the arcades for timeee now i been using controler all my life but hey ive finally mastered the buttons but now am tryna get use to the japanese way. using only 6 buttons which am doing a greate job so far. and i dont like the straight for example that starts from triangle ends to L1 i prefer the one that starts from box and finishes to R1 basicaly the japanese style and am tryna stop using L1 L2 u no what am saying

  • So right now i use [] triangle RI, X O R2. and when i do sharyuken fadc for the ultra instead of using 1 button i press 3 all together basicaly am tryna master the japanese style dont mind my bad english cause aint my first langauge but i just cant be asked to you no speak in full details but u get what am saying right or else am going to have to rephrase it to you

  • Theres only one problem so far am having. on the left i can execute ultra in ease but on the right is abit harder even though am getting the hang of it but when i do sharyuken focuse cansel dash attttack into and ultra when it comes to the ultra is harddd but on the left is soo fucking easy what is the problem am having can u help please

  • official capcom released a big chunky stick a few years ago for its anniversary

  • Yes, that was the Street fighter Anniversary edition for the Xbox and PS2 the buttons were straight across rather then curved . And it sold for $400. bucks .

  • anyone know if the te stick has a square or octagon plate?

  • Square plate. It's Sanwa JLF stick, standard Japanese square gate, Sanwa convex buttons. If you prefer a different gate/stick/buttons, the stick is easily moddable, but this is the highest quality you can get as far as Japanese components go. If you use Zangief I guess the Sanwa octagon gate is a good idea, but for charge characters (Balrog, Bison, etc), the square gate is the best IMO.

  • Square but you would not know it

  • u need the good stick. the standard is too small and will move around and the stick cant take a beating from what i been reading. i have a hori arcade pro 3 and its great. its about the same price as the t.e. stick.

  • The standard is fine and isn't much smaller than the HRAP3, stop talking shit dude.

Anyway I have the standard, after a month 2 buttons broke and the stick started playing up. So I bought Sanwa buttons and a Sanwa joystick and now it works perfect again. (well now it's the same as the TE feel wise)

It sits nicely in my lap or sits on a table firmly, it's a good stick when modded.

  • full suport for all ps3 features. LIES! they are not blue tooth, no sixaxis, no nothing

  • I really want one of these!!!

  • This stick is mainly use for fighting games. Does not work for PS2 games like street fighter 3 and tekken 5. The stick can't be read. THis sucks.

  • Actualy yes it does

  • maybe a dumb question, but does the stick replace the d-pad or the analog stick? So if i were to play non-fighting games with this, would i be stuck for character movement since games dont really use the d-pad for movement anymore?

  • on that panel on the upper left you can set it to replicate analog sticks as well as dpad

  • In the Uk the Tounament version is £150 at the online shops but £400 at Amazon wtf so stay well away from Amazon and Ebay you will be ripped off.

  • There are more on the way. 3000 was just for the launch date. I just got mines today 3-6-09. Only paid the 150.00 and got it from game crazy inside of hollywood video. Don't buy ebay, it's just a rip off because everyone thinks there's no more in production. If anyone can't wait call arcade in a box. They make arcade sticks with the same quality parts and well build for about 150.00 to185.00. Hope this helps.

  • Got mine today also.

Paid retail price @ Game Crazy.

I agree. Stay away from eBay.

  • I just don't get it why they didn't make more! theres TONS of people that want these controllers, so why the fuck did they make so few, sometimes I don't like when companies just want to make money, but in this case, why the fuck didn'te they make more, don't they want to make money???

  • cause their cheap pricks

  • damn bastards...

  • i mean is this available in belgium ?

  • I don't think there is anything "Clever" about 8 buttons.

I didn't know about the Swapping options. That is pretty cool to know Because I would love to tear it apart with a new faceplate and put the other 2 buttons somewhere else and perhaps stick in a Happ P360 stick.

I think there is another stocking coming, but I think it will again be in short supply. Perhaps Madcatz should just keep making them for as long as there is demand.

  • Something for everyone? What a lying sack of shit. Can't get the tournament edition without paying 300 dollars. Fucking lame.

  • Well... did you reserve one?

Cuz, I reserved one a week before the SF IV release and I'll be paying only $150.

  • Officially, the Standard Edition is $70 and the Tournament Edition $150, but they've been sold out at regular shops very quickly. That's why they let you pay tons of money on eBay, but the retail price isn't $300...it's just the ppl who take advantage of the current situation who ask you to pay that much. The guy in this video isn't a "lying sack of shit", he already said that you'd better pre-order it or it will be very hard to get.

  • i know they were trying to make it like a real arcade pad but do u think it would have been too hard to make the start and back buttons the smaller like one the second pad they showed

  • im not paying 150 pound for a tournament fightstick ad that on top of the 70 for the special edition id rather eat my own head (but im still getting special edition LOL)

  • its too bad u cant use the old fight pads on the the ps3 cuz i got one

  • They should make a bluetooth Arcade Fightstick, I hate the cords now that my controllers are bluetooth, that would be so awesome if they did

  • As somebody else said - the reason they are not wireless is that people (tourney players) could get really anal about any potential slowdown in response time - with a cord there's no worry or not as much. Even though it seems a silly point, I'd bet thats why its not there (for that price they certainly could include it). I quite like the stash point anyway! ^_^

  • man these things cost a bomb

  • I'm new to fighting games, and pre-ordered Street Fighter IV with a Standard Edition Fightstick for thePS3.

I absolutely love it. The fightstick isn't as big as the tournament version but still plenty of room to rest my hands.

The only, only thing I now wish is that there were a 3rd party port so I could take my stick and use it with an Xbox 360 at my friends and family.

  • I agree - my only complaints/wishes are about 1. The 'special edition' scratches on the tourney edition stick 2. The need for an adaptor, like you say - lets hope they can make it PS compatible (like PS1, 2, 3 compatible and PC) and 3. The CRAP intro song to the game - what the heck? Its terrible, its like they assume everyone listens to R'nB - we don't! SF III had the same awful music, why not use SF2 kind of music? Ah well, maybe if enough people complain they can patch it ^_^

  • The price for the Tournament Edition seems to be around 110 - 130 euros.

Just ordered one, can't wait for it to ship :3~

  • how much is the tournament one

  • OMG fukin porno music... turn that shlt off!!!!

  • yo there really good i have two of them and my friend is going to give me a nother one so yea

  • noob question: is the fightstick compatible for all fighting games?

  • yea you can. you just re-assign the buttons to whatever game.

  • cant get the tournement edition fightstick anywhere :/

well at least not in the UK

  • move to america

  • id rather lick my own arsehole

  • widowhams your fucking nasty

  • i got the fight stick for christmas, its great for the classic street fighter on my computer

  • I am looking for sticks in South Africa, anyone know if any of these will be coming my way, where do you pre order them?

  • Sorry to say, but you're probably gonna have to import it. :(

  • how would you do a shoyuruken on the fightpad?

  • Same as you would on a analoge stick, forward, slide down and back up to forward again, the punch...

  • I Pre-Ordered mine months ago, good luck bidding on one on ebay for rape prices maybe

  • I wonder if you can modify the regular FightStick just like the Tournament Edition. If so, that regular is mine for the taking!

  • The regular Fight Stick can be modded like the TE, it even has the QDs.

  • Awsome i'm really glad to hear about this cause I preordered the regular Fightstick and now i'm going to order 8 30mm Sanwa buttons =D

  • yes they are both modifiable

  • got my shit preordered already, does anyone know how many are made?

  • not enough everyone and i mean EVERYONE is tryin to get one

  • Thats Seth Killian(guy in interview) He uses that technique and has played in alot of Big tournaments....So good Capcom hired him.

  • Im using the fight pad for Tekken 6

  • can you use this for tekken 6?

  • Of course you can.

  • These joysticks look frickin' sweet.

I almost bought a Hori Fighting stick a while back but ended up not getting it. If the UK prices are decent, I will DEFINITELY be investing in one of these SFIV sticks.

Anyone know how much they'll cost in the UK?

  • £150 on Amazon.

  • Earlier today, I tried pre-ordering one of these, I couldn't find ANYWHERE taking pre orders for these. I am so fucking pissed off right now.

  • HAHAHAHA I preordered mine. I paid the full 150 right away so I can just pick up sf4 and the te right on feb 17th ahhaha....YAY for meeeeeee!

  • call around and keep trying. I just reserved mine today. Although they are going fast, I'm sure you can still get one. I live in minnesota and reserved mine at gamecrazy inside of hollywood video. hope this gives you more hopes. good luck.

  • Thanks. As it happens, last week, one of the sites I had been looking at made the sticks available for pre-order again. Now all I have to do is wait...

  • This video convinced me to the get the regular stick as the TE edition is a bit too pricey for a first timer like me.

I would appreciate if anyone out there knows how to get the fighting stick the cheapest way possible for Europe, so far I have it preordered it on play-asia but it isn't exacly cheap.

  • The regular Fightstick is still a good choice so dont think you're getting a cheap stick. I'm getting that one too :P

  • They are both easy to add buttons/sticks too. So just like in the TE stick, its very very easy. If you google it yo can find a pic of the inside of the reg stick.

  • I want the regular Fightstick but I wanna swap the ball with an american style stick. How would I do that without the TE Fightstick?

  • Sup MarkMan. I know it's mainly up to preference, but would you recommend any stick over the SFIV TE for Tekken only use?

  • yea if u know how to customize your own stick

other than that it would cost just as much to import a stick just as the TE edition.

  • I'd love to use one of those for the Games On HDR tournament in a couple weeks.

  • 2:21 Am I supposed to use it like this? Was I using these incorrectly the whole time. OH NOOOO.

  • lol what really happened there? are they joking or the one tested it is on crack? who the hell would hold the arcade pad stick with right hand? and push the button with left hand? Cracker.

  • the old MK arcade had the stick on the right hand side.

well as i remember, i remember a stick on the right hand side and buttons on the left. it was a while back tho in the arcades.

  • MK had the stick on the left, the odd thing about MK is the button setup; they are laid out in an H shape.

  • Sexy!

I got a boner from that TE stick <3333

  • I actually thought that the fightstick was gonna be just a watered down version of the tournament edition fight stick but its actually very good as well. I think I'll get that one.

  • lol they are only doin this review for 360, FANBOYS!! lol anyways these sticks are user friendly...

  • YES! confirmed from the man himself. No more confusion over this. I actually thought the fightstick was the controllers at the beginning but they're the fight pads, now I know the difference. Nobody EVER mentioned fight pads before. 5 stars!

  • and how much do each stick cost

  • about the stick, how do the play on other fighting games like tekken or virtua fighter?

  • if it's got a cord holder it should have a wireless feature too

  • Now that is cool. Controllers of SF4 for the 360. That's genius. The arcade stick controller is a must for hardcore sf4 fans with a 360. Thanks for the video Markman.

  • Buying the TE stick for PS3!!! I'm also considering buying the normal one as backup as well.
