Yea..Pluto is a planet same reason Earth and the other planets are planets. They orbit the sun in our solar system. The term solar system means.. well just break it down, solar is sun and system are the planets. Pluto is no different because its' gravitational bound/bind by the suns gravity..that's the reason it goes around the sun once in every 60-70 years I believe. Stupid idea to demote Pluto cuz sooner or later some idiotic scientists will see Pluto that Pluto revolves around the our sun!..

The current definition is that a planet must clear its orbit. In other words it cannot share its orbit with any other object, like asteroids for example. By this definition Pluto is not a planet, nor any other object aside from the eight classical planets. Objects large enough to have a stable orbit but do not clear their orbits are now Planetoids.

Actually, defining (and revising) is part of science. In any case, I haven't even noticed a revision, all I saw was the new definition excluding pluto, giving us eight planets.

It only matters to you if you're in the business of classifying objects in the solar system, for the rest of us it's mere trivia.

It is entirely possible and quite likely in my opinion that humans have held more knowledge of the universe in our distant past than we do even today.

At the time of the making of this video the IAU had defined Ceres, Charon, and UB313 also known as Eris as planets. They have since changed the definition again, and as you probably know removed Pluto's status as a planet as well. See my sequel video "12 Planets Revised"

Weather or not there are 12 planets, 12 is a very significant number. There's 12 in a dozen, a gross is 144 (12x12), there are 12 inches in a foot which is the basis of the English measuring system. The number 12 represents, as you stated, the 12 disciples, but the 12 disciples represent the 12 tribes of Israel who descended from the 12 sons of Jacob. The problem is we'd be up to what, 49 planets (according to wikipedia) now, expecting to find many more in the Kuiper belt and beyond.

I think the point is that the label "planet" would become insignificant and meaningless after a time, with every little object we found being called a planet. Instead the two classifications draw a clear distinction that is also scalable as we start to discover more and more exoplanets.
