@qotsa1313 right on, i've started to make sense out of this Garage Band program, so maybe when i get it worked out i will give this arrangement a shot with some multi-tracking. thanks for the feedback and taking the time to comment.
@FuzzyMcButterWink thank you man, i will definitely post some more as soon as i get my camera set back up. hoping to set it up so i can just leave it and start posting more regularly.
Nice use of the pedal on this one! I grabbed one the other day and have really enjoyed having a play around with it. Just had a quick go at Fast Car by Tracy Chapman. Still some way to to go before I get up to this standard methinks. I gotta nail those durms first! Good job...keep grooving!
@Steveothemonk thanks steveo, fast car is a good call. part of the fun for me is discovering songs that are suited to the pedal. i still play 70% of my gigs without loops, but some times one will just dawn on me and it will work great. have a blast with that pedal and let me know if you come up with any other gems!
Keep it up bro...we want more. Its been a long time since I seem you jam in person. Great cover and awesome vibe. Next request is some funk. The natives in AZ miss you.
That's sounds awesome. You would really benefit from picking up a Harmony-G Pedal from TC-Hellicon. It'll bring in harmonies to your voice which will be even more impressive.
@adiosmofo1234 - funny you should say that because i got one of those pedals a year ago and have yet to integrate it into tmy pedal board. i've messed with it some and think it sounds great, pretty organic and very nice native reverbs, etc... i am a curious about potential signal/tone lossloss because you have to run the instrument through it as well. anyway, i am sort of a long thinker and have been intending to put it in the box but procrastinating on the learning curve. thx for the push
That is funny. I honestly think it's an essential for a one man band. There is hardly any learning curve. I can't go a gig without it now. On my board is the DD-7 Digital Delay, the RC-20 (of course), TC-Helicon Harmony G, Fishman Aura Pedal, and a MXR ZW-44 Zakk Wylde Overdrive. What's on your board?
@adiosmofo1234 you're cracking me up man! too good... it's like you're describing the brother of my board: Ernie Ball volume, Pro-Co Rat distortion, RC-20, DD-3 delay, an old Small Stone phase-shift, MXR gain boost, and an LR Baggs Para-Acoustic DI at the end of the chain to try to get SOME of the tone back after all those pedals - haha - i like playing with the tones though. i gotta put that Helicon in line (and get a bigger board cause i got an orphan Wah too...).
That's cool. I've tried using loop stations, but have never had much luck. I think I'm just too impatient to figure out how to work them as well as you do. Getting the timing right is so important, which you nail! Great job and sounds awesome!
i'll tell you, setting the tempo with the beat 1st helps A LOT, because then the machine compensates for small errors in timing. anyway, i'm glad you dug it man, and thanks for saying so.
Really nice version of a classic, well played, well sung and tastefully looped! You're clearly a committed musician and an expert with the RC20-XL. I'm researching loop pedals at the moment and it's down to the Boss or a JamMan. I'm a sound quality fetishist, and I hear that the Boss tends to "muddy" the sound a bit on overdubs as compared to the direct sound. Even at YouTube quality, I have my suspicions about it here. Any thoughts? Alas, I can't audition either of them before buying.
Thanks for the props. I have never messed with the JamMan, but I have a colleague who used to use a Boss RC-20 and switched to the JamMan and is very happy with it. Being a bit of a 'tone freak' myself I have to admit that there is certainly some loss involved with the RC-20 - i've deemed it an acceptable trade-off on most gigs, given what the pedal can do, and I also typically use an LR Baggs Para-Acoustic DI at the end of my signal chain - which helps. I was not using the DI in these videos.
Ohh it's Forrest Gump! very good!
