This is and was the best looking MMO out there, I played it at launch and was very disappointed that Funcom didn't wait till they had ironed out more bugs before releasing it. If the massive player base it initially attracted hadn't left because of that I have no doubt that it would still be drawing a huge number of subscriptions.

Been meaning to reinstall the game for a while to checkout the new content & check server population, Definitely worth a look if you want to try someone different

what funcom could have done better in MY eyes is to have build up all the maps completley different. the graphic is extremly high and insted of having these high mountains terrain in the background, it would been much nice to play on a flattland. so you wouldn't see the "ugly" mountain background which it is in my eyes. this is my opinion tho.

Hyboria is not FunCom's, so FunCom can't do much out of Howard's stories.

Personally I don't find the mountains ugly, but cool ;)

I believe the mountains are there to act as 'walls' between zones. Due to a load screen between zones it would be impossible to see the other zone without loading it first. In order to have the graphics that AOC has, there has to be barriers for zones, the mountains are just an aesthetic fence... I believe

i must say nice graphix but i have seen so many beautiful games that i need to see something extreemly boom boom graphix before i go wow.. like foot steps in the mut that stays... when it raids, the water foats down the armor/body, stuff like that... but untill now i think age of conan will have my vote for best graphix.

Nice maybe, but look at everything else. Splash effects and the physics processing required to be on par with the caliber of the existing graphics would be remarkably taxing on a game that already requires a lot of horsepower.

If you don't believe me, benchmark your system with 3Dmark vantage and pay special attention to the first GPU test.

You can run the game maxed out In DX 9 and sustain an average framerate of 40 FPS. In DX10 you will need nothing less than another 4870 running in Crossfire to achieve playable settings on high. DX10 is playable on medium settings with a decent framerate.

This video makes me sad. I played Conan up to level 60 as a Barbarian but I can't get any further. Such an amazingly good looking game but I just can't get myself to level further. I reactivated my account after watching your first video in January. I got about 3-4 levels and then sadly I got bored again. I waited for this game for over a year and really looked forwards to it so I still haven't completely given up on the game, and I probably will reactivate my account again some day.

Of course a long time ago. Every now and then like once a month in a raid I will redline for a couple sec. Thats just being upfront and honest. Rest of the previous issues went away.

How did you get your draw distance so high? I set mine on max and it doesn't look anywhere near yours.

There is a known issue with it, taking the slider down applying and back up again and applying a few feet from 3500m fixes sometimes. What settings are you playing at? maybe can help a little if you like.

I found the party of Age of Conan boring, when I arrived 'outside' the beginners land around 20, is that changed? What is new presice and what is really .. astunningly cought by the eye? wow gorgeous - I really wished I enjoyed this game back when I played it. After the beginner levels it just got boring. Missed the quest dialogues and didn't like the instancing at all (but that's the price you pay for those type of graphics I guess). Sieging worried me a bit since I'm guessing it's all instanced as well. Population any better yet?

I can only say that this is very good footage of a game that is growing, and will become alot more then it was at start for many years to come.

DX10 version will only evolve & become better, and performance will increase with time and developement. It`s not perfect in its current way, but I belive its just a matter of time before most people use DX10 as a normal.
