Its too bad that the Police did not continue after Synchronicity, however from what I have been able to gather Sting and Stewart just did not get along musically in terms of which direction the Police should take.
@leamanc This was the first of three shows for the Amnesty International A Conspiracy Of Hope Tour in June 1986. I remember Mark Goodman (MTV) being caught off guard when the Police took the stage that day. Anyone else remember this? T
I love how Sting originally intends for the song to be sang slow and not true to the original but the crowd demands perfection as they sing to the studio version and he ends up giving in lol. You can see him be like "Damnit! they want me to sing it right" at 0:32
@BaronVonRotterdam really, i thought he was out of tune on the first line and it looked like he was looking for guidance from the audience to sing in tune, which they did. From then on he was fine, just my perception by the way.
This could easily be my theme song considering that I seem to always be injuring myself on a daily basis. LOL
On a more serious note.... This is a fantastic video. Considering that the band were on the verge of breaking up, this performance is pretty damn good. I'd luv to see the rest of this concert someday.
the backing vocals. totally out of tune?

Did The Police tour in 1986, or was this a one-off show, like for a benefit or something?

@BaronVonRotterdam I watched this live...I always had the impression that he couldn't tell what key he should be in until he heard the crowd singing.
