Dreamcast has a good controller, but suckish D-pad. It has an excellent arcade controller. Gamecube has the most ergonomic controller I've ever used. The best all-round controller I've used is the Logitech F710.

Best Controller of all time is the Steel Battalion Controller. You had a three part mass of plastic and metal which had to be assembled. You had like 48 buttons, some metal toggle switches and one button would even activate your window wipers. I need to play this game!

You also got three metal/plastic foot pedals for you to control your movement.

It was for the mech game xbox exclusive, also announced for 360 kinect, who the heck knows how that's gonna turn out WITHOUT the controller.

I'd have to say the PS2 controller, I don't any other controller that uses any other technology apart from analogue sticks and buttons and a shell that fits comfortably in you're hands.

until you try to push the buttons. The awkward joy sticks, and LB & RB aren't placed in a comfortable why to press them. About the only thing I like using the 360 controller for is racing games because of the button lay out doesn't get in the way of gameplay. the ps1 2 3 controller is by far the best because its great to use for about every game, and its symmetrical :P.

I'm one of those people who bought a modified 360 controller designed to feel more like a ps3 controller, so I could enjoy my 360 games. I just demand symmetry at all times, and when something isn't it bugs me. Consider it one of those mental problems like OCD or something.
