"Some of you may be aware of the insidious release of a new 'box set' of Fields of the Nephilim works entitled Genesis and Revelation. Camden-based record company Jungle Records are yet again attempting to deceive our famously loyal followers into parting with their cash." - Carl McCoy
When asked at an interview if FN had any love songs, Carl said this song - about a succubus molesting a woman - "has a bit of love in it, I suppose." What a band. Great to see they're back.

I would say Fields of the Nephilim are more than just a mere goth band.. They are really something else... No other "Goth" band is on the same level as this quality band....
amzing band with amazing music. first saw them live at the Glasgow Barrowlands when they released Elizium, never heard their music or knew what they looked like till the night of the gig an was hooked from then on.Still would love to know ,to this day, where to get the hat that Carl McCoy wears.
I was at that gig- Sept 1990, my first concert. I remember the dry ice blowing out just before they came on and the noise when they started For her Light after the intro. Amazing!!
as far as other's people's opinions on this song, or band for that matter, you either like it or not... i played this song for my brother 1 time & he didn't like it at all, lol. i guess the goth/rockabilly/country mix doesn't work for him :-D
Greatest Band ever ! Too bad, Jungle Records chose to publish those unfinished demos on FALLEN instead of giving Carl more time. Then the album wouldn't have been such a disappointment. Now Carl is gone. So instead of releasing new material like MOURNING SUN, they have to dig out inferior material to release new box sets. I think we'll keep seeing "previously unreleased" stuff like Carl singing under the shower until every single recording from their vaults has been converted into money.
Hello kid's, you like the neph?, then have a look at my veoh site where you will find two live gig's and all of there promo vid's for download for free. Just search tab's with the word's goth or nephilim and you'll get there.
No wonder Carl McCoy placed a statement on his own website urging appreciators of The Nephilim not to purchase this. It is evident that he had no control over this release. His standards are high and with vision. This is atrocious to call it a promo film. Jungle records should view the promo films from Preacher Man onwards (in particular Psychonaut) to understand the mans vision. No doubt its made the record company some more money riding on the name of a talented man and his band.
Some of us listened to them in the States in the 80's as well :)

Nice song. The guitar riff was pretty cool, if I may say that.
TheSymmachus 2 years ago
I think its hilarious that they used this guitar riff for an energizer commercial
icfnord 2 years ago 3
Well that's interesting. Is there a link to a video of such a commercial? I'd assume that it is not a recent commercial.

oh! its good to know that jungle "thiefs" records are still alive, to suck bands money....

"Tears of rage, tears of grief
Why must I always be the thief?"
Well if you knew what we know, you might even believe the opposite.
But then again, we wouldn't expect, nor want fans to not support the artist.
So what can we do?
