I was surprised that the Republican (or any other) legislature would cut education while rescinding a 1-cent sales tax. That makes no sense! I don't need that penny. Having it won't make me buy more and won't fuel job creation. Tax cuts! That's all Republicans know to do for the economy. We more than a penny tax cut. Laying off state workers will further prolong the recession. They need to take an econ principles course.

I would gladly keep the 1 cent sales tax. My question is why is the NC Educational Lottery not enough? Where is this money going?
