  • sort of freaked out by the movement i think. But good first try! she is probably a pro at it now!

  • I would like to build one of these and I found a lazy susan bearing rated at 1000lbs. I'm wondering if the vertical rotation combined with the weird stresses of having it support a wheel would still allow it to work ok.

If you showed more of the details of how your wheel is constructed (especially the hub/bearing combo) it would help me build mine.

  • To get them to run, what you should do is inbed treats into the wheel. Then She/he shall be trying to get it and not notice it is running :]

  • Thanks for your suggestion! Dangling a toy, or a piece of string, from the top of the wheel gets her going now. She really just needed to get used to the wheel. The reason I knew she'd run on a wheel is that I have a front-loading washing machine that she liked to climb inside, and she taught herself to walk in it! Maybe I'll post a video that!

  • Thankyou, please do :)

  • It was a one-up job by a local guy. You can find quite a few options by Googling for something like "cat exercise wheel". There's a pretty wide range of prices so be sure to check out a few different ones if you're seriously looking. Thanks for your comment.

  • cute...where did you get the wheel?
