If the Whitebeard pirates are number 1, how come their commanders didn't stand a chance against the Admirals? Beckman just pointed his gun at Kizaru and Kizaru already flinched unlike his reaction to Jozu or Marco.
@Strayspiderstrut People forget, but whitebeard's division commanders probably aren't part of his original crew. This man fought head to to toe with the pirate king, look how old he is and don't forget about rayleigh. So my theory is that he recruited them post the death of the pirate king.

honestly i think as of now the 3 strongest characters are shanks garp and rayleigh none use a devil fruit that we know of shanks is is one of the 4 pirate lords and he has one arm reyleigh can stop the admirals with easy and garp was able to fight on par with roger and whitebeard...i just think their stronger becuse they dont rely or fruit powers....althogh a younger healthy whitebeard would have mopped the floor with the admirals

@MrComa119 well the marines are antagonists, but it's marines as a collective term. it would never be just akainu against a yonkou, he would always have backup. and the only time we've seen akainu go against a yonko, whitebeard, he lost. and we pretty much know that shanks' power physically is around the same as blackbeards, not counting any devil fruit powers he may or may not have. shanks could go 1v1 against akainu. the new antagonists will be pirates in newer chapters, probably anyway.

As leader of the Marines, Akainu will be the final (or one of the final) villain!

Marines were present in the very first arc (with coby and luffy being introduced), were present during the Pirate king's adventures (Garp and Sengoku) and were there in the Marineford arc (war of the best) which affected the entire world. Being Fleet Admiral means you're the strongest fighter in the marines. Otherwise, there would be no one else to stop pirates from dominating the world. the world would be ruled by pirates, which is not the case since the WG prevails. i honestly think that down the road Akainu will surprise us.

@MrComa119 well the marines are antagonists, but it's marines as a collective term. it would never be just akainu against a yonkou, he would always have backup. and the only time we've seen akainu go against a yonko, whitebeard, he lost. and we pretty much know that shanks' power physically is around the same as blackbeards, not counting any devil fruit powers he may or may not have. shanks could go 1v1 against akainu. the new antagonists will be pirates in newer chapters, probably anyway.

@Flashjackmak Whitebeard is not just a yonkou, he's a legendary pirate whose strength rivaled that of the Pirate King. You can't possibly compare Whitebeard with Kaidou, Shanks or Big Mom because WB is just much more powerful and would just destroy them. Yes Akainu DID lose against Whitebeard, but that means he lost against the strength of a Pirate KING, not that of a yonkou, EVEN THOUGH he managed to damage WB HEAVILY (and cut off his mustache lol).

It has been said that Shanks and Mihawk are equal. That being said, Mihawk knew he wasn't as strong as Whitebeard because he even said that he wanted to "see the difference in power between him and WB". Using our logic, Mihawk < WB and Mihawk = Shanks, THEREFORE, Shanks < WB.

The only Yonkou with the power to beat Akainu at the moment is Blackbeard because he has multiple devil fruits.

That was before timeskip though but just the fact that Blackbeard, with 2 DF powers, and his ENTIRE crew ran away from Akainu speaks volumes.

Can't really say that Momonga is stronger than Aokiji coz Admiral is stronger than Vice Admiral or that Smoker > any VA. As for the shichibukai, why would infamous pirates work for an organization (marines, WG) that is weaker than them? Mihawk was a notorious pirate to begin with! Marines were present in the very first arc (with coby and luffy being introduced), were present during the Pirate king's adventures (Garp and Sengoku) and were there in the Marineford arc (war of the best) which affected the entire world. Sure some pirates are evil and antagonists but when it comes to battling against the marines, they're all together!
