DisasterArea are generally held to be not only the loudest rock band in the Galaxy, but in fact the loudest noise of any kind at all. Regular concert-goers judge that the best sound balance is usually to be heard from within large concrete bunkers some thirty-seven miles from the stage, whilst the musicians themselves play their instruments by remote control from within a heavily insulated spaceship which stays in orbit around the planet or more frequently around a completely different planet.
I'd been waiting 16 years to see them (fan since 1992), I didn't wear earplugs, and let me tell you, it was amazing. Totally worth it. My ears rang for two days straight afterward. Normally I don't support that kind of stuff, but in this case, a worthwhile exception was made!! It was ASTOUNDING.
if you can't take it you're a fanny and should dust down your take that 7"s and burn all mbv you may own. and no earplugs either, unless you're pregnant.
Saw them in Chicago last night and it was the loudest thing I ever heard. The whole concert was loud but the You Made Me Realise feedback intro for 15 minutes was incredbily loud and incredibly something. I tripped out, I freaked a little, I went numb, I was transfixed. Awesome. Just Awesome show.
If I could give this six stars I would have. This sounds incredible, like a recording of a hurricane ... walls and waves and layers of distortion that you feel and endure as much as hear.
There is no way that could have been as loud as it was at Manchester on Saturday, and according to unofficial timings, at Manchester it went on for about 10 minutes longer...
