Absolutely agree with targeting the industrial sector with enforcement, not taxes. The trouble with taxes or credit trading or whatever is that it doesn't affect the net output that industry can produce.

Even if there is a "cap" does that mean they would prevent new companies and factories from being built? Of course not.

Our so-called "economy" depends on constant growth: it's like a ponzi scheme. When we realize that we can't grow anymore and we need to scale back, it's going to hurt.

I agree with you when you say that big companies need to go greener, but the problem with that is these companies depend on the people buying their products. what im saying is the only way they can go greener is if we make them. or in other words buy from their greener rivals (if they have one) and say "look we're only going to buy from you if you go greener than your rivals" forcing them to either a) go bankrupt or b) go green.
