OK, here's my thinking. I think that the "sacrifices" on Satanic alters is full of sensationalism. I don't believe that it's true Satanism. Also, the psychopath who sprays gunfire in an abortion clinic while shouting Bible scriptures is certainly NOT true Christianity. We have all been told lies about different faiths and religions. If you want to follow God then become a Christian, If you want to follow Satan then become a member of that Church. Stop nit picking it's getting old!!!!

I read the general outlines of the faith and it seemed interesting, so I bought the book and it spoke directly to everything I was experiencing and feeling in my life. If you mean I read it to get attention, no, because what kind of attention would that gain you? No one would care.

What exactly am I proving too? That guy is being a typical Christian; playing off people's good nature so they conform.

And how is "turning to Satan" in a LaVeyan sense any less viable than "turning to God" in those circumstances? What I read was a lot more realistic and down-to-earth than anything I'd read in Christianity.

If you say complex as in bullshit, yes, Christainity might be more complex. But Satanism spoke truth about life, it embraces real human nature and how to live with it, the nature of others and of yourself. Everything it said, I was experiencing and thinking myself.

I don't call myself a Satanist btw. But the book had a profound influence on me.

It would have been more proactive for Boyd to adopt an atheist type argument rather than fighting directly on Satanism seeing that everyone else is mixing up his beliefs with that of the Christian devil. Satanism confuses a lot of Christians, and it's really difficult to start off by saying "I'm a Satanist" and be understood correctly without first laying down that "atheist foundation".
