I just discovered Olafur's music through a documentary called PressPausePlay recently. He's such a young guy, i didnt expect this caliber of incredible music to come from him. I'm blown away.
I'm sorry, but 30:55 is one of my favourite pieces of music of all time and I'm really disappointed with this "single edit" - the pacing of the original was spot on, building up for just the amount of right time and then the lead into the epic, soaring coda from where the drums start is perfect. It's way too rushed here. Maybe I hold the original to too high a level that I'm not a fan of any alterations!
when I first heard this song it was on Pandora, and I initially wrote it off, not paying too much attn. Then as it built up about halfway through my ears perked up, then the ride got my heart beating, and as soon as I heard the double bass drums I thought "I can't believe this is happening". toward the end I was on the verge of crying (I'm a 22 yr old dude) the "I cant believe this is happening" part was because I had no idea that a song could have that kind of effect on me
I went to this video and then switched tabs, so I basically missed the entire video part, and wasn't completely focused on the music either. Towards the end of the song, I started to focus more on what I was listening to and found myself ready to cry within practically 10 seconds. This is so beautiful.
This song was already used for 2011 USF winterguard open class. I love the show. You all should search it up. It may give you a new perspective on the song.
@mantisolivares yo man, cmon. Don't say that. If you start going around calling people faggots that don't like this music, you start to become as bad as the music that they probably listen to.
i got into this music because my ex loved it and now we're best friends so im always trying to find more like it.... thanks to her ive come to love this style of music and have to say Olafur is one of the best ive heard so far
This literally brought chills all over my body, and that is something music very rarely does to me. After the chills tears came to my eyes, and that's something music has never done to me.
This is one of the first videos I've seen where there isn't a thousand flame wars nor nonsense in the comment section. Just a whole lot of people utterly moved by such a beautiful piece of music. <3
because we all agree that this is truly astonishing and inspiring music. clearly we're all human beings with a more or less good sense for true music, that is what Olafur provides
I think this is the only song I have ever heard that makes me cry, just by hearing it. So manys emotions perceived in one beautiful song. This is a song straight from heaven. Just amazing.
@idis0abad it doesnt go unnoticed, its just that people who really care will notice the beauty of this kind of music. its nothing you can listen to as someone just passing by...
Its been a long time since I have heard a song and felt amazing while and after hearing it. This does that to me. This is my FAVORITE song. I gotta find a place to buy this song.
what beautiful music for a car crash. 1:02 car spins out of control over a cliff, 1:58 police are rushing to the scene of the accident, 2:27 they arrive and provide medical attention, 3:56 they arrive back at the hospital...
My girlfriend and I were in a car accident on the last day of grade 12 in June, I came out with scratches, but she died on scene. This song was played at her funeral for her eulogy. There was a note she had in her diary saying how she loved Ólafur and how beautiful she thought his music was. She would listen to him while sketching things and writing personal notes. I miss her more than anything, she was truly as beautiful as this music.
Once again I put this song on facebook and title it "This is real music LMS if you agree." Still no likes. But I'll keep trying because this is real music.
I hate when I show my friends something as beautiful as this and they automatically discredit it because they don't like that it doesn't have words or a beat. It really saddens me. This song has made me cry at least twice and... I want them to be able to experience that.
@jpm1316 Same, my God is An Astronaut station brought me to this. Normally I just zone out and enjoy everything it plays, but this just made me stop in my tracks and look it up immediately.
Immanuel Kant used to say that sublime is whatever makes us feel both astonishment and fear...I think that if something "sublime" really exists, 3055 surely IS sublime.
Oh my. Sometimes I really wish more people like or know of this type of music, so it's considered 'cool' and stuff, because my generation really don't know what they're missing out on. Forget Rihanna and Chipmunk and Nicki Minaj, this is real music.
@kenneyishuang I think you missed the point, I was just stating that music like this should be the most popular. I never said Justin Bieber wasn't good...
@sunshineeyess I prefer if less people know to be honest, because then it just becomes mainstream music. I prefer to be only one of the few who knows Olafur Arnald's music. :)
@sunshineeyess I agree with you but would you really want those simpletons actually liking this? Or do you think they would actually appreciate this? If it was only cool and the media told you it was cool, would you have those "people" actually liking this. I rather keep this stuff a secret but share with those whom actually have the metal capability to fully understanding something such as this awesome kick ass song!
This why music is more than a personification it is completely alive and this proves its gives every1 that emotion and feeling to know everything is going to be alright
