@theSEVENFOLDisLIFE I'm not too clear, but I'm pretty sure that it takes the song you're listening to currently, and takes other songs, and make it into a remix of some kind?

The genius takes songs on your ipod (has to be nano or phone) and morph it together, like on glee how they do the mash up in the begging. Watch "United States Of Pop 2009" its kinda like that!

When I go to the song I want and click Start Genius from the menu, it says that i need to activate it in iTunes.

Guys, You don't need a credit card for this! When you sign up there's an option on the credit card thing it says "None". CLICK IT! Genius isn't that big of a deal, it just finds songs in your iPod that thinks you would like that song too. Nothing special, What I thought at first, was that its going to mix your songs, that sounds good together, like literally MIX it together.

It was there, well if your in the US, last time I checked I didn't see it, but I live in canada, and I saw the option NONE. Try get a 10 bucks gift card.

this is false.

you need to enable genius in itunes, then make a genius playlist with one of the songs in your library, then copy that to your ipod, from there you can make genius playlists of whatever you want on your ipod.

so it has to start out as a genius playlist, and when you hit the Start Genius feature on the ipod itself, it just narrows it down further?

I can't sync random songs to my ipod up to its capacity and then use genius to find similar songs from that random selection?

well, I'm pretty sure you have to sync your music to your ipod unless you don't mind genius not being activated for some of the songs on your ipod. i.e. you can't manually manage your own music and put songs that aren't updated on genius and expect them to work with other songs that are updated on genius. does that make sense?

yeah thanks. I just got it working. I was hoping the feature would work on the nano itself without having to make genius playlists on the computer beforehand. Oh well, not a big deal =)
