  • How is it possible for this video to be disliked

  • @LEFTY91335

There are people in this country who hate America. Believe it or not, its true. They are the Americans who spit or burn the flag and disrespect it more than Bin Laden ever would.

  • whats the highest note he played?

  • He's the best! !

  • Wow, Wow-er, Wow-est...there's the reason for his iconic status as a trumpet player!

  • 0.o....that wuz beyond beautiful.....

  • Holy crap

  • Comment removed

  • @ninjacucumber711 When you say that your ashamed to be a trumpet player after watching this video i would say that you are hating......

  • Greatest national anthem i've ever witnessed in person!

  • Arturo Sandoval.. omg that is the most amazing start to a football game ever

  • ........shit that was good

  • What a boss!

  • Simply amazing

  • christina aguilera please dont sing the national anthem again, you butchered it and arturo sandoval a cuban should have performed it over you.

  • Anytime you want to please a crowd on the national anthem, play a really high note with that jazzy sound. They say quite a few people can play high notes, but with a jazzy sound like that? Goodluck.

  • that i sooooooooo gnarly! Listen to the crowd in the background. GOD BELSS AMERICA!

  • hard to hit a "super c" with a mustache :P he played at the jazz band for a college i live near

  • me

    im not that good

ive only been playin 3 years

  • Come on people!!! Any trumpet players in here???!!! IT A DOUBLE HIGH C.....

  • @lsbroso this note is Concert Bb and it is 3 octaves above the staff. Higher than most of us will ever play in our life time...

  • @180012345678910 Try half that. It's an octave and a fourth. G sits on the top of the staff, "high c" is a fourth above that. He plays the C an octave above that. There's technically no rule about which octave to call double, but he tops out at what most everyone would call a double or super C on a Bb horn. Also called C7

  • @lsbroso aka - super c

  • wow... 2 people are gay

  • Arturo Sandoval, the man... wow!

  • WOW! Chills

  • Most of us who have no or little musical background cannot appreciate the level of expertise that Arturo reaches to grace our ears. But what we can and do appreciate is the artistry which Arturo expresses that evokes our emotions. By this we know that we have experienced the sublime.

  • How high was that note at 1:54? my goodness! It's a wonder he hasn't burst a blood vessle. Just incredible!!

  • @flojogrande its a double C

  • @RebelHottyToddy Thanks!! It had to be at least a double. My ear is not that good. Just out of curiousity, you probably play a horn or a trumpet. What is the highest note obtainable on a trumpet? I know the lips and some good high note grease are key. Just kidding....got that off of a Louie Prima number but honestly getting back to range...what is it?

  • @flojogrande haha honestly its as high as your muscles can take you. Everyone is different but there isn't an unobtainable note. I or you might not be able to hit it but its note the horn its the player( or the lack of grease haha) if that makes since.

  • @RebelHottyToddy 3 high c actually

  • I was looking at videos of pro's playing the SSB, and thought, there is the perfect opportunity for a dubba C off that G in there and no one has the guts to try it, but of course Arturo does, and can!

  • BEAST

  • 0:56 omg!!!!

    nice lady!!

  • after the high note he sure sped up alot of course my lips probably would of died right at the end...

  • WOW. that boy can play.

  • It was obviously amazing, but the microphone made his vibrato sound doubled, it would've been a lot better without the mic.

  • His high reg is great, but his low it kinda iffy. To me anyways

  • @SaintNate1 that's mainly because of the latin type type music he plays. Playing a lot of music like he does creates that type of tone. The mic actually didn't help, and made it sounds more crass. I have much of the same tone, and I play a ton of latin music, so I think that that is the explanation for it.

  • So fucking epic!

  • "Well done Arturo Sandoval"? That's all you have after that!?!? Talk about underfuckingstatement.

  • 1:54!!! holy cow....

  • What the he'll was that note and what size trumpet was that cause I play a bflat

  • @TheShahart that was a double C, but I dont know about the other question

  • He's an amazing trumpet player.

  • By the way, it's a double C, above a double G, I used to play professionally!

  • Best version ever, period. If u r that good then it's ok to showboat, if not, welcome to mediocre land. Well done Arturo, beautiful, crisp, and not sloppy like Maynard , and I love that guy, u just sound better!

  • get this,he is actually a better pianist than trumpet player.yea, just imagine

  • no Arturo......!!!!!!! u cant fall on the national anthem at its peak, its unhuman.oh wait, he isnt.nvm

  • All of those football fans didn't know they were getting to see the real show that day. :)

  • the range in this is not nearly as impressive as the tone and intonation he has while doing it

  • Arturo Sandoval is phenomenal. This performance is jaw dropping. I am a trumpet player myself so i can appreciate how hard that is to do, cause i can only get up to the e below a double g on an extremely good day. When he goes up to a double g and rips it up to a super c, it's just unbelievable. God bless America!

  • Jizz in my pants OUTSTANDING RANGE

  • YUUUSSSSSSS!!!

  • takes such wicked chops to do that! Especially slurring up to Double High C without overshooting the note.

I woudln't dare try something like that during a national anthem (with no other instruments playing!). Imagine if he had hit a D by mistake...the whole stadium would be like "WTF?!" (never mind the people watching on TV).

    And he's nearly 60. Sheesh.

  • @flamingdingleberry I thought it was a tripple C? sorry not a brass player I play percussion but that sounded to me like a tripple C the doubles where when he did the run halfway in the vid.

  • @IzikMuzik double C is the way trumpet players refer to it, although it is infact 3 octaves above the first C on a typical B flat scale (hence a bit confusing).

Arturo does play what trumpet players refer to as a "triple C" (just do a search using his name and "triple C" on youtube, and it should yield results). Pretty crazy stuff.

  • @flamingdingleberry ah okay cool thanks man

  • @flamingdingleberry ah okay thanks man

  • @flamingdingleberry Idk about you, but as a trumpet player that spends alot of time around other trumpet players, we usually refer to it as super C :D

  • @flamingdingleberry age has nothing to do with it :D look at maynard

  • bravo, nobody can do it better, thank arturo, god bless the USA.

  • such a fat sound! pure ear candy :D

  • Arturo Sandoval is WONDERFUL! No one other can do it better!

  • gave me chills!

  • yes i was there!!

  • that guys a freak but that was awesome

  • just wonderful

  • Middle C only refers to the C in the middle of the natural range. 8 octaves on a piano so its C4. There are three octaves on a trumpet without altissimo notes so its the one in the middle. And plus as far as octaves are concerned C4 on a piano is what C in the staff is for trumpet.

  • Incorrect. C4, "Middle C" is the D hanging off the bottom of the Treble staff on a Bb trumpet.

  • Heh, I figured he would pull something like that at the end, he should have taken it up another octave just for shits and giggles. Sandoval's the man!

  • You're making Dizzy proud Arturo!

  • It's a concert b flat.

  • I love the chick at 1 minute who keeps chewin' gum whilst singing the anthem. Cool

  • when he started i'm like hmmm i can play like that, this isn't high enough to be arturo... he showed me yet again.

  • ..........................I'm going home peace

  • danm hes experienced

  • it was incredibleee

  • what's the last note??

  • c above the staff

  • "Super C"

  • The last note of the song is High C (above the staff)

The highest note he plays ("free") is a double C.

  • a double C is a high C (above the staff). its the second C above middle c

  • Low C (below the staff)

    Middle C (in the staff)

High C (Above the staff, two ledger lines)

Double C (an octave above that, five ledger lines)

  • Actually what you refer to as low C, which is C below the treble staff is actually Middle C because on a piano, that C is in the middle between the Treble and Bass clef staves

  • Arturo is an asshole. I've met him in person quite a few times. He's the cockiest motherfucker I've ever met. But god damn he has reason to be.

  • that's the stereotype of trumpet players for ya! XD

  • Lul bout to say... I'm a douche about the trumpet... I wont lie... O.. You play the saxophone? that's cute.. I mean I have that much against the saxophone.. but I'm still going to flaunt my ego as if I do.

  • please don't say you were talking to me when you called some a saxophone player... -.-

    i'm not a fag >.>

  • Hahaahahahahahahha... No I was just sort of doing an offhand anecdote... Trust me I would feel the offense as well :).

  • Very Nice!!! This is my absolute favorite on youtube! Not too much was changed to make it bad, but just enough to make a crowd go roaring :)

  • very good. this is a my friend!

  • my high school band got to go to the orange bowl and play in the half time show with 4 other bands, we got to see him in person, and it was the best piece of music i've ever heard

  • don't you know, he meant every note. he's got good reason to play that anthem. God bless Arturo!

  • You got that right!

I'm Cuban, I know how proud he must have felt playing our National Anthem. This is the country that gave us freedom, no one could have a better reason for playing so beautifuly.
