Holy shit, this is even faster than the 2004 Prince's Trust version... this is Video Killed The Radio Star on a high-speed train or something. Nuts! Interesting to hear it by these guys though.

This was a parody of the song -- I saw them last year and they were incredible.. Palmer headlined "Fanfare For the Common Man" and the band did Yes' "Roundabout" for STeve Howe's former group. King Krimson's "The Court of the Crimson King" was great as well. Those three songs were pure classics. For Geoff Downes' "Buggles" years, they didn't to ham it up a little. Their concert that blew me away.
Saw Asia with I think the same concert in Holland on the birthday of Steve Howe this week. The classic songs were the best. But these musicians indeed blow you away with any song!
They might be wizards on keyboards and brilliant on bass ....BUT this version is shit!!!...It sounds like one of the bands you get to hear in a pub or club....
as much as i love trevor horn..this proformance is horrid..ive been playing bass 24 years now..and i know id never ever alow my music to be given in such a way, but then who knows the circumstances at the time..
My wife and I saw Asia last year in NJ - They played this as well as "Court of the Crimson King" from Wetton's old band, King Krimson. They also did Emerson Lake and Palmer's version on "Fanfare for the Common Man" (From Asia drummer Carl Palmer's old band and "Roundabout" from Asia's suitarist Steve Howe's Yes days. This album was fantastic, and I'd LOVE to see these four come out with a brand new Asia cd.
I wholeheartedly agree.. Plus Wetton's voice, although great, just doesn't have Trevor's vocal timbre.. I know it was just a nod to Geoff's bit in the band, and that's cool..
The keyboard player's name is Geoff Downes. Incredible player!! As much as i love Asia, The Buggles were absolute GENIUS! I wish Geoff and Trevor (Horn) would record another album together! It would be awesome to see what they would come up with today! They had such an amazing knack with writing music. 'The Age Of Plastic' was, and still is, pure solid gold! As i said, the 'pop' sensibilities of these two guy's is pure genius!! (;o)
Let's all admit it... the shit the Buggles relased was 100x better than the Asia stuff. Keep in mind the keyboardist in Asia was from the Buggles (Steve Dowd I think his name is?.. can't rememebr off the bat)
If you're an Asia fan do yourself a favor and get the first two Buggles albums, you'll be surprised
Awsome, I really want to see Asia live, since Geoff Downes wrote some of the song makes sence they are playing it on tour...Asia has more talent in their little fingers then most bands do period
I agree on the talent issue, given important members of King Crimson, Yes, etc. It's too bad that they wasted their talent making 3 minute generic pop rock songs.
I'm thankful they used their talents to elevate 3 minute rock songs than to masturbate themselves into obscurity by turning art into a music theory pissing contest.

obviously you fuckers haven't attended too many live concerts.
live shows are usually faster.. unless the band is overproduced and are playing to a click track, or something.

This is just horrible to the first song on MTV. Too fast, and not in synch with the original.
Just sayin'
