hi im a young musician looking to start the cello i play many instruments but the cello is my favorite but to be honist i just dont know where to begin
In response to 8percentband ...Money, money, money, and more maintenance money. Cello's are expensive. But it is one of my favorite instruments as well, and if you have access to a Cello and know basically how not to damage it, you can learn yourself without a teacher, save your money, invest your time and play.. good luck.
I heard this song growing up and I fell in love with it, but I dont know the name of this song, so if anyone does know the name of this song will you please message me and tell me, Thank you :)
i would really like to know the name of this song, I heard this a long time ago growing up, and fell in love with this song, but I don't know the name of it. If anyone knows please message me and let me know. please and thank you!
oh my goodness this is so beautiful! i have always wanted to play the cello. its my favorite instrument. i play the flute and thats it lol. hoefully i can get one soon if i save up! its os beautfiful!
I love the Cello I think its an amazing instrument and you play it beautifully I wish I could play like that I wouldn't know where to start :) Very talented indeed :)
Wow. Very beautiful. I would love to learn to play some day. I was interested in violin, but it seems a bit to screechy for me, though it might have just been because I was hearing the sound through video and not in real life. Though, I do prefer the deeper sound. I play clarinet and tenor sax and I much prefer the tenor, though I enjoy them both.
I've play cello for about 3 years and it not hard to play after playing other instruments the only thing is that swiching from Violin to cello is a lot harder
Wow that was pretty good. I dont know if its just me or could it be a little smoother in some spots like when he goes from high down to his lower notes. idk. Maybe u could not talk that much in the beginning either. I kind of just skipped over that...not to be mean or anything. I'm just trying to give some constuctive criticizem.
hey i really like it, i noticed it because of the song in the new movie "The Soloist"...good movie coming this spring check it out...and very very good playing.
Wow. You know, as a very popular piece it's natural that I heard sooo many variations, but to tell you the truth - and take it as a compliment - yours is one of the best performances I've ever seen. You matched this really nice playing with the colors of your personality. Amazing!
wow you are amazing!!! you play with such passion!!! very euphoric!! you look almost elated!! you really inspired me to want to learn how to play the chello!! it has such a wonderful tone......i still have goosebumps... Love, Evelyn B.
i love this your playing, it reminds me of my FAVORITE movie ever!!! the curious case of benjamin button. i dance ballet to all your songs. your music inspires me. please, dont ever give up. and keep going.
oh my, you make it look so easy and yet Its quite the opposite, I love the cello simply because the deep noise it creates and yet it can fully express ones emotions
Thank you very much for this I have been looking for this song for a long time. I heard you say it was Bach but what's the name of the song? I would love to know, thanks again.
I think the only con of jian wang's playing is that sometimes it is a little heavy, not much though. Compared to Yo Yo Ma, it is a lot better because it is not super light and the tempo isn't as liberal. Check out Jian Wang's dvorak and elgar concertos on youtube.

This is my all-time musical piece. I actually went through many of your videos to see if you would play this. Lo and behold, it was your first one! What a gift the Lord has bestowed upon you. May His face been seen through your music.

oh my goodness. how beautiful is that. how long have you been playing? i started when i was 10, up till 15. then srted again 6 months ago. i hope to be as good as you one day.
o man your really making me sad when you play this, I was playing cello since I was in the 3rd grade and after high school I stopped but I was a very good player, almost finished the whole book of the suites. Now I'm sad I should go buy a new cello so i can start back up :)
I have been playing that prelude on the guitar for about 25 years.I have played it every day for maybe the last 8 years.I don't think I have ever gotten through it without some false move or other. This player doesn't have that problem.
Ah yes, Bach's Prelude to his first cello Suite. Excellent song and excellently performed. I play the cello as well, and I must say it was quite well. Keep up the good work.
I think that the dynamic contrast could be a little better, I didn't feel excited while listening, and there's certain partys tjhat you could possibly pull back a little.
This was the first major song that I rememorized and played in front of a audience. The first time I actually had a concert was when I was a junior (grad. in 2005) and I played it rememorized...amazing. I'm always looking for different technique of how to play it.
As a baroque piece, you shouldn't change the speed at the end, also at the end with the cromatique scale, don't press harder to play lowder play with more bow to creat more sound, but everything everything else is great :)

Regardless, you can't say what is the right or wrong way to play this.
I'm learning to play this right now on my cello. I only wish I could play it like you do. All in good time I suppose. Practice measure 31 to end, (I know the music well) until you get it down pact. Thats about the only part of the song I can play well and if you could nail it, your preformance would be to die for. (Course all of the Suites are.)
