You know, if Jay has any soul at all, he would, right now, announce his retirement from The Tonight Show and a new deal at Fox. I used to like Jay Leno. That was before I found out about Conan and how much of an asshole Jay Leno is. Conan was way more successful than Jay. Just most of them watched online, and most who watched on television aren't Nielson box families.

Conan's ratings, within the demographic which is the only rating television really cares about anymore, were fine...until Jay came on at 10 and the ratings, even for the local news, dropped 50%. So, it's kind of an odd coincidence that his ratings were strong til Jay's disastrous 10 pm show. Also, Jay got 3 years to get ratings.

@TheJets24green If Leno is so great then why did his show tank when moved just an hour earlier? The only reason Conan had low ratings was because he had a horrible lead in. Conan's going to do much better on TBS anyway. TBS won't water down his show like NBC has done to Leno and tried to do with Conan. The TBS move was brilliant and he'll easily be kicking ass in the ratings very soon.

Jay leno was the best one for tonight show! conan was best for late night ! NBC screwed it up! Old people watched the tonight show and went to sleep. Younger ones stayed at night and they had the kind of jokes they wanted with the person who represented them. NBC broke the balance and they had the results!!!!

I like how they keep bringing up the ratings when it was Conan's first year. Hell he didn't get a full year. Leno was getting beat in the ratings his first year by Letterman and it wasn't until the Hugh Grant/prostitute story that Leno drilled him on that he became #1...anyway, NBC signed Leno to a 100 million contract for his failed prime time show and NBC felt it was cheaper to not break that and break Conan's 30+ million contract instead and recoup their losses with Leno. Smmmmarttttt NBC...
