Hola.

Si, he visto que pasa que no se puede guardar el archivo despues de modificado

En ese caso, te recomiendo que hagas una copia del archivo "hosts" en tu escritorio (o cualquier otro directorio). Luego modifica y guarda el archivo que copiaste. y por ultimo reemplaza el archivo original con el que copiaste ya modificado (borrar el archivo original del directorio C:/Windows/system32/drivers/et­­c/ y poner en su lugar el archivo que modificaste en tu escritorio)

Save it in other location, like for example save it on the Desktop.

Once you have it there, just drag and drop that file to the original location and let it replace the original file.

Or save it with admin privileges

Try this:

Go to Start > Run

Type in

"regsvr32 Softpub.dll" and hit enter.

"regsvr32 Mssip32.dll" and hit enter.

this is the worst messenger they have ever come up with, i kkep having so many problems, suddenly it just disconnects and tells me the internet connection has been lost, and it sometimes wont give me the option to start shwing my webcam

you can fix it temporary this way...

when you're signed out of your window live, go to another account on your computer(like users) and log onto your account there. After that go back to your account and sign in. It works xD ( for few hours)

i'm just gonna keep doin that until there's a wayy 2 fix it perminatly

Well damn, my bad. It's worked for me twice in the past so I was just assuming it's the best possible fix.

It's pretty stupid that there could be a number of issues for an individual error. This errors like saying "Ok your daughter has a broken arm so we're gonna remove her liver." Might help something but it's not fixing the main issue problem.

Nothing new in your "FOUND" Kencan72 1 Right Click on Start and go to Explore 2 Go to your hard drive 3 Documents And Settings 4 Click your user name folder 5 Local Settings 6 Application Data 7 Microsoft 8 Windows Live Contacts 9 Delete ALL the contact folders inside. 10 Restart Windows Live and try to sign in It does not work for all of us, only for a few

i tried, but it seems 8100030d is more sticky than what microsoft thought.

I heard microsoft will have a fix for that on next wlm update.

Well that update had better be soon. I actually JUST found out that it's only my main e-mail address that doesn't work.

If you make or use another e-mail address then you can sign in without 8100030d kicking in.

I fixed it once by deleteing the folder with my e-mail address from the contact folder but this time around my contact folder isn't there.

Then it gives me an error message telling me that some other program is interfering with the Windows Live Installer. I have checked and found out that no programs are running. So then what is the problem? I have even uninstalled the previous version of windows live messenger, the 8.5.

Hi there

Your problems is not with messenger. The problem is Windows Update!

I have seen this error only a few times, and all of then fixed it by FORMATTING the computer, I dont know if that is an option for you but maybe you can consider it.

If I find a not so dramatic solution that formatting, I will let you know.

If it is only with one of your accounts, then I bet you are getting error code 8100030d only.

The most common solution for that is deleting everything located in this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR-USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts

To Cure the 8100030d error code simply go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR-USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts

And delete everything here, EVERYTHING...

Then your WLM will start connecting to the internet, no computer restart required...However this is not always the cure, but it just worked for me...

i understand what you say, but I dont know how to answer to you in spanish... that hapened to me too, and what I did was to make a copy of the host file in my desktop, modified the copy, then deleted the original host file. Move the copy to the original location making sure it has exactly the same name as the original file.-a
