With the US fighting all intentional future wars against muslims in Islamic countries since Afghanistan, there is a greater threat to muslim states. War are always the ideal test grounds for new weapons and technology for spying & destruction. The US depleted uranium rockets & cluster bombs in IRAQ, the US drones in Pakistan, the spy Satellites that can see objects a few cms long on the ground from space. All this has made our world less safe as US launches attacks on SUSPECTED places.

DU rounds were not used by NATO in Yugoslavia, because neither Warthogs nor tanks were used there. (Apaches were not used too, as Milosevic surrendered before low-flying aircraft was introduced, and anyway they would not use DU as the HE rounds were determined to be powerful enough against the Serb tanks.)

My supervisor at work is also a woman who lived in Bosnia. That cancer has shot up in those places is fact in the European medical literature. I have not done my homework on other place, but I'll take first-hand accounts of people I know to be educated and honest over your sorry "American Dancing with the Stars" watching ass!

@realwarfilms During the aggression NATO against Yugoslavia in 1999 NATO has dumped on Yugoslavia about 8,5 tons of depleted uranium. They used american planes A-10 Thunderbolt. These planes are equipped with aircraft cannon GAU-8 Avenger. A-10 with GAU-8 used against Yugoslavia about 31 thousand shells with depleted uranium cores. The weight of that core is 2,7 kg. So the common weight of depleted uranium was about 8,5 tons.

@punipunipunisher Why do you put in 1 heap uranium mining and bombing with shells with depleted uranium cores? Natural uranium uses for production of fuel for nuclear reactors and in nuclear weapon. Depleted uranium is by-product of producing of nuclear fuel and its recycling is very expensive. That’s why it is easier and cheaper for NATO-countries to bomb somebody with shells with DU than to recycle it. Their cynicism does not know borders.

@punipunipunisher Yes, DU is less radioactive than uranium. But after explosion of shell with DU 70% of DU turns to dust and this dust goes in air, water, soil. Disease of a cancer increased in times in these arreas of Yugoslavia which where bombed with shells with DU. NATO did radioactive dump from south Europe (and you live in Europe too) and you see nothing wrong in it? Yesterday it was Yugoslavia, today it is Libya, which country will be the next?

So not only i, but all adequate people are concerned with using shells with DU in Libya, and before it in Iraq in 1991, on Balkans during the bosnian war and during the aggression NATO against Yugoslavia, because half-life period of DU is 4,5 billions years - radioactive dust does not disappear, so it is endless problem for all planet, and not only for these countries.

And the author of that column Michel Chossudovsky is a professor of University of Ottawa and has worked as a consultant for international organizations: UNDP, UNFPA, ILO, WHO, ECLAC etc. Chossudovsky gives there 29 sources of that column, 5 of them are from UNEP and 1 is from WHO .

@SLAVESweARE OK, I'll enlighten you. DU is used in some anti-tank rounds, fired from tank cannons and the specialised tank-busting aircraft. Such round is a kinetic impact projectile, basically a huge bullet, or a huge arrow in the case of a sabot round. DU is used because it's very dense (just like you) and so it makes the core of such round to pierce the armor better. It has just no use whatsoever in any explosive weapons such as bombs.
What "clown" are you talking about, anyway?
