Anyway the risk of flipping in a 4x4 is much higher and not all of them have roofs which will take the load (Volvo's do) so I it's not like my roadster is that unsafe.

Those roll bars didn't even go up high enough for them to even be protected. Another thing I noticed is that the seat belt pretensioners didn't even do their job of holding the dummy's body down as their supposed to. The car makers should be sued for not supplying proper safety. Some convertibles are safe, you just have to make sure you have the *safe* ones .. ( BMW, Volvo, Volkswagen ) ...

The problems with these cars were that the roll bars and windshield weren't high to create a survival space large enough for the taller occupants. Also, the three point seatbelts couldn't hold the passengers tightly in their seats. Cars really need four point seatbelts. Its way to easy to slide out of the shoulder belt of a three point seatbelt in a rollover.
