what do you mean by "playable in english" if you you mean playable on a ds purchased in US then yes as the DS isn't region locked.

he is referring to the understanding of the game in spite of being in perfect japanese.i got this game...it's no difficult to understand, but you have to learn how to use your character properly, that's all. search in gamefaqs dot com some guide for the game to learn all the basics and that's all. the game is very intuitive
