Can someone tell me if this game is worth the $40-$60 I'm finding it on amazon.com for? I'm planning on getting the original PS1 version since I heard it's better than the PSP remake. But I don't want to waste my money if it's not that good.
@ItachiTenshi It is most definitely worth that price. This game is one of the greatest games I have ever played. Period. I'm surprised you found it for $40-$60. Whenever I run across it the price is usually $100. The PSP remake didn't have the bug fixes and everything the American version had.
I agree with shadowstkler - It is the best game. (as long as you get the A ending lol) The A ending is amazing, the story is great. Some of the stories in it will pull at your heart strings as they are very sad. :( You won't be disappointed in this game. :)
The two versions of the games that were beautiful this song appears. I would like in a not so distant future to hear a new version with a VP3 Hrist. I hope that before long as they did with Silmeria.
It's just really sad, but Valkyrie Profile 2 wasn't even, half good as the first game was. It was just unfair. (That's is what i think, the second game isn't bad, but i didn't even like the ost for that one)
@Exotrino The second one didn't have a good story line like this because it was focusing on the past and the warriors weren't as much important to have their own story scene, that was why it sucks but the main characters story lines were very well done.
VP2 sure wasn't like the first. The directing for example was kinda bad (some important scenes were badly done *I mean, Rufus' ring is an example of AWFUL and forced foreshadowing already*, the warriors weren't presented to us *they all have a nice story but you just have to read it, it's lame... you don't know them as characters* and curse you chapter 3...). The music was nice but VP1 was just more iconic.
However, VP2's battle system is just BADASS (more than VP1).

Valkyrie Profile 2 was a great game in its own right, but there are great games and then there are those that possess a certain degree of timeless excellence that cements their place as an iconic example in the history of the artform. It's all opinion, but VP1 had such a quality; VP2 did not.
@Exotrino thing is that valkyrie profile tried something new and it more unique valkyrie profile 2 caters to fans of traditional rpg's. i think valkyrie profile 2 was a great addition as it impoved on valkyrie profile in many differrent ways though many know valkyrie profile for it's trademark period system which felt restricting for some players (me included) and you had to be really good to get the best ending, thing is that vp1 caters for completionists which put alot of people off.
