  • 11 peoplee not gonna be back... *blam blam blam* *turns hand in a sword*

  • A B grade production that became an A grade classic and re-defined a genre

  • terminator=awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • T1: easily in the top 3 of sci-fi movies ever!

T2: still a very awesome and fantastic movie!

T3: rather crap! But i really liked to see the first Terminators and Hunterkillers gettin into action and starting the extinction + the very good unexpected ending!

  • :) i'll be back....

  • Does somebody have the opening crawl of the orgininal mono track?

  • Next thing you'll know :The Terminator Reboot! Starring Sam Worthington!

  • I like all the movies. The story is the thing.

  • ..1984.. The role Arnold was born to play :)

  • the terminator was the best....no bullshyt about making a terminator more human- like, no bullshyt cgi takin away from the movie...and not to mention, the overgloried sex scene!! gotta love the 80's!!

  • the best intro for a movie!

  • I love Terminator movies.

But Terminator 3 and 4 were bad jokes.

  • 00:00-01:38 WiSH I HADE SPEAKERS BOOM BOOMBOOM

  • If the war between us and the machine happens in 2029, i will learn to fight like John Connor and Kyle Reese to kick those robots shiny metal asses.

  • If some jackass gets the idea to remake this classic, I will have officially lost faith in the film industry as a whole.

  • I LOVEEEEE that this is HD!! YES!

  • Much better than T2's rendition.

  • This is the most badass movie theme.

  • Skynet made 10 accounts to dislike this video.

  • I've heard of a remake in the works either that or a sequel, but I think a remake of the third film would be best.

  • I hope that in the sixth film, they pay homage to this proper.

  • This is just absolute brilliance, they dont make sci-fi like this anymore. 80s sci-fi was the ultimate picture. Ultra-violent with great story telling....man those were the days

  • "I'll be back." Come back Arnold and do T5, we are waiting for you.

    Still a fan.

In my opinion it would be T4 as that Salvation bullshit don't count.

  • this and ghostbusters have the Openings ever .

  • @michaelforthriller ,

It's a shame they don't make openings this way anymore (especially in this 80s style)

  • JUDGMENT DAY

  • How can people dislike this video ??? i don't understand !!

  • Isn't the soundtrack completely different from this? Did they remake the soundtrack for the opening?

  • I thought the main theme was composed by James Cameron...

  • @TheReturnOfJames

As far as I know, James Cameron has never composed music in his life.

  • Love it! absolute classic this movie! loved it when i was a child and still do to this day

  • R.I.P. Paul Winfield who played Lt. Traxler.

  • [Comment removed by Skynet]

  • @DmmxJTAGNyKo gonna rob this ;)

  • @DmmxJTAGNyKo nice

  • not the original....not the 1984... the sound is t2 picture t1.

  • @ziehe666 Ummm, watch the movie again.....

  • this is iconic to me, remember watching it when i was like 8, and loved it....!

  • T1 best intro TS 2 best intro T2 3 best intro and then T3 intro

  • The music alone scared me as a kid.

  • Does anyone have the interview from conan the barbarian where schwarzenegger says that these boots are for some shitty film i'm doing??? By which he is refering to this film?

Been looking for it but to no avail it is on the conan DVD but I can't be arsed to buy it as I am not interested in conan.

  • Fucking love this music.

  • I have all four movies

    The Terminator

    Softenator 2: Blockbuster Effects

Crapinator 3: Rising heap of crap

and Terminator Series Salvation (hey, it tried...)

  • @WarHorseVarejao

Agreed. I bear no grudges against Salvation. It has a few nice ideas in there. (Plus it wins over T3 by default, simply by not being played for laughs most of the time.)

  • @TheConciseStatement Totally agree...

  • @TheConciseStatement I disagree. At least 3 had Arnie in it. That makes it better than Salvation.

  • @WarHorseVarejao that is a very accurate description of the series.

  • @WarHorseVarejao ME TOO LOL

  • @WarHorseVarejao haha.. nice one, bro'!

    The Mothafuckinator

    Badassinator 2: Blockbuster day

TooOldinator 3: Rise of the CGI-hell

Terminator Salvation: too boring to even bother come up with a funny name

  • @DemiathDoomhammer

    Terminator non-Salvation.

  • @WarHorseVarejao *checks gun* T2 ain't soft man,

  • @WarHorseVarejao I think T2 is good. At least, Cameron writted and directed it.

  • @WarHorseVarejao Terminator 2 was fucking awesome!

  • easily the best intro out of all 4 Terminator movies

  • Love The Beggining no1 can make this kind of soundtrack anymore, this is the ORIGINAL!

  • this one is the best version!! Terminator, one of the best movie ever!

Watch my own version of terminator theme on my page, hope you'll enjoy :) it's not perfect but i did my best :)!

  • Im 16, most of people of my age know The terminator but didnt even watched the movie itself, when I finished watching, i was like HOLLY SHIT THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME! its a shame that many people didnt had this expirience. If you have any children, PLEASE make them watch films like Terminator, Back to the future and Star wars, they deserve it!

  • Legend

  • its the terminator you goons

  • i think im the only one who calls this movie THE terminator

i once got beat up att school and head flushed in the toilet because i corrected the class when they were talking about The Terminator, they just said terminator and i said " its says THE, not terminator, THE TERMINATOR, cant you ppl read, cant you do anything correctly? do u even pay attention in Mrs. Quirkes english class?"

next thing i knew i was laying on the bathroom floor....wet

  • @tysonthepooper

Sorry to hear that. Hope you don't still wake up in cold sweats screaming, "Definite article! Definite article! No don't flush me! Don't flush me!"

Anyway, it's worth bearing in mind that you can see the film actually being referred to as just 'Terminator' on a teaser trailer and some early posters. I remember that trailer being on my double disc DVD. I think it ended in a deep voiceover saying, "Terminator!" with some suitably ominous 80s music evocative of the machines.

  • @tysonthepooper Then you listened to this... and went and fucked shit up with a 12 gauge and fucked Sarah Connor.

  • @tysonthepooper Shit, i had my ass handed to me just for looking someone who was already hated :b

  • @tysonthepooper what a stupid comment no wonder u got ur head flushed down the toilet #dick

  • @LordBirdmanJR You're probably one of the flushers who beat him up. It is his own right and will to correct something that comes to an expression. Personally, i hate those kind of fuckers who beat up someone just because he corrects something

Note in case of you coming trolling to me: The first sentence was sarcasm.

  • @Rockboy58

I know it's hard to detect tone of delivery in text form, but d'you agree it's a sign of a drop in our collective intelligence that irony now has to be explicitly indicated?

  • @TheConciseStatement Did you mean that irony has to be expressed as precisely as possible? I don't know, i don't have an opinion on that. I think it depends on the person.

  • @Rockboy58

No, not precision. It's just sad that we've had to create things like 'sarc marks' and ending on '/sarcasm' and other indicators, because people don't seem to be smart enough to detect when one is shifting to irony and back again.

In fact it's probably best summed up in the last minute of Stewart Lee's rant on Top Gear.

    watch?v=w0i0RXMvzMs

  • @tysonthepooper

It used to be just called Terminator. There's a teaser trailer on youtube and at the end there's the red terminator logo and the guy just says arnold schwarzenegger in Terminator.

  • @tysonthepooper

Did you Terminate those who wronged you?

  • @tysonthepooper I'm sure your mother kissed you and caressed you all over when she got wind of what happened to you. I just wish that would have been me in your place when that happened as far as with your mother goes. Although I would have used a plasma rifle in the 40 Watt range on those maggots that called the movie "Terminator"

  • @tysonthepooper Shame you had that done to you. Best way to retaliate is too make a lot of money and pick up the babes that way. That will show em..... Violence is not the answer.

  • @tysonthepooper Dang dude. Are you serious?

  • me too i love it more the whole series altogether more than anybody in the whole world

  • @tysonthepooper Lol. Yeah, lots of people just call it "Terminator" even though it's called "The Terminator".

  • @tysonthepooper With pride.

  • this movie came out the year after i was born but when i got to see it 7 years later i thought this was a badd ass movie..i had a big briother so i liked the boy stuff when i was a kid lol

  • This is the film that put John Cameron on the map and shot Arnold's career through the roof! I think we underestimate just how much this original picture did for both James, Arnold and a whole new Sci Fi Genre that followed. This is a true classic that starts a new era in the industry. Cameron had a low budget to work with, but he pulled it off magically. If you ask me; this is probably the best film he's ever made, given the impact it had on the film industry.

  • @HerculesTAK That's why The Terminator is my favourite movie

  • Terminator was a cool movie, but Avatar................wasn't Avatar supposed to be about a gay alien monkey gettin' bizzzzy with Justin Bieber, or something to that effect? Nah, I'm not into that stuff. I'm going to watch Terminator again for the 53rd time, instead. Whoooo hooooooo!!!

  • @exposed97 it is instrumental (synthesizer) not non-insturmental or do you hear britney singing?

  • i remember seeing SECRETLY this opening as a little kid - the picture quality was snowy/fuzzy to the max you could barely make out the big letters, but it was a moment of enlightment cause at that point i would die to watch that godlike movie THE TERMINATOR

it is also a good example of how much more atmosphere movies used to have (compared to current movies) i dont remember anythign from the past 15 being this stylized futuristic chilling and eerie----------80s rule forever

  • Classic 80s style.

  • it's a shame that people here only appreciate arnold for his performance as the t-101.

well i agree that it was a masterpiece but everyone needs to appreciate robert patrick who played the t-1000 in T2!!!!

Robert Patrick may not have been physically strong but he had a face to watch out for

  • @1blaircamp and we do appreciate him ( R. Patrick )

I kept trying to arrange my haircut in the 90's after him everyday :D

He had that eerie aura around him throughout the movie

  • This is James Camerons best film even better than shitty AVATAR which is full of CGI crap

  • Unfortunately, there are a lot of 1st Terminators in real llife.Look in Arizona!!!

  • 6 were targeted for termination.

  • @vol009S And 6 were terminated in Arizona.

  • Its strange. When I see the movie title flying back into the background, I get a strange vision of kyle and the terminator being flung back in time.

  • Ok

  • This is the most epic opening for a movie i have ever see. Well this and Star Wars.

  • 6 people to the dislike button: "You're terminated, Fu---r !!!"

  • JESUS shut up about AVATAR! it would of never been born without TERMINATOR 1! and without that James would of never been able to have the money for helping out with RAMBO part 2, ALIENS, and then take that money and make THE ABYSS, TITANIC, TO AVATAR! so SHUT UP! and watch the fucking intro to a master peace movie that only had a good first 2 movies of! T1 and T2 were the best! T3 was horrible and T4 came back with a good comeback of reputation to continue with T5 and T6 in the end!

  • @KeIIinator okay okay. I have never seen Avatar and I probably never will. Avatar ain't got shit on this movie. Fancy computer graphics doesn't make a good movie. Just my opinion.

  • @KeIIinator Agreed! Am a HUGE fan of T1, T2 & Aliens; I did my part to help Titanic AND Avatar break the box-office record too; while not totally thrilled with Avatar, I AM totally impressed with the technology that Cameron helped create to make that movie.

  • @nickmitsialis

I was even underwhelmed with the much talked about visuals, amounting to cardboard cutouts of blue goblins running around an enchanted forest. I mean, Inception (which I still think is overrated on story terms) has occasionally, genuinely stunning visuals, and being planted in a typically real Nolanesque global metropolis, didn't hurt it too much. I'd rather see a fully realised city than a half-baked FairyWorld. Lord of the Rings remains the benchmark for a fantasy universe.

  • @KeIIinator T4 was better than T3, ok, but ultimately was not as good as the trailer made believe it would be! so T4 was kinda average ultimately

  • The fury rose from the death of a young man's girlfriend. His was is to exterminate those who did harm to his girlfriend has raged for years but the battle of his anger would not be fought in the future but in the present. Present Day...

Everytime I watch this movie, I fantasize about me killing those who were responsible for the death of my dearly loved and devoted girlfriend. That's how pissed of I am.

  • Ernest Farino here... I designed & created this title sequence. Some comments here remark on the similarity of this sequence to that in Altered States. For the record, I never saw Altered States until quite a few years later. Clearly there are similarities, but I wasn't influenced by AS. My "design theory" at the time was that since 99% of filmgoers know the name of the movie they're watching, let's use the name as a graphic element. Not particularly innovative, just a visual concept/approach.

  • What happened to composer Brad Fiedel?

I know he also collaborated with Cameron on T2 and True Lies. What he did for Cameron was so great at its time and may be still very good theses days. I believe we miss Fiedel's nightmarish and stimulative work very much.

    So awesome and kick-ass.

  • @writerblaster

I love his music for both Terminators. Wasn't too keen on the stuff he did in True Lies though. Too generic. John Barry would have been great for that film but I think he was busy doing The Specialist at that time - a movie with a far better score than it ever really deserved.

  • @writerblaster You got it baby... Brad Feidel added so much to this story, we cannot forget him.

  • Awesome. Terminator 1 & 2 are one of my favourites films ever. Far better than Avatar and 99.9% of today's sci fi movies.

  • @Xavicat14 FUCK AVATAR

  • @ndc18 Why does everyone hate on Avatar?

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91

    Is 5/10 hate? Because that's what I give it. 5/10. Which is somewhere between a D+ and a C-.

  • @TheConciseStatement Well good for you, but that's your opinion, most people liked it, IMDB, which is pretty much everyone in the whole world rating that movie gave it an 8.3, and that's a B.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 (1/2)

"Why does everyone hate on Avatar?"

Actually most people liked it. Have you seen the IMDb rating? 8.3. It's ridiculous.

"Well good for you, but that's your opinion."

Whose opinion were you expecting? I could give you James Cameron's if you want : he really liked it.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 (2/2)

"IMDB, which is pretty much everyone in the whole world rating that movie gave it an 8.3, and that's a B."

Not everyone but 270,000 voters is a lot. 40% gave it a 10 and 20% gave it a 9, so I'd say that's an A or A+ from them. Doesn't change my opinion of it - I thought it was dramatically uninspiring in the extreme. No biggie. The second highest grossing film this year was Alice in Wonderland - suffice to say, subpar films will continue to attract huge audiences.

  • @TheConciseStatement Then you suck.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91

LOL. I like your last frustrated comment. It gave me pleasure and a reason to sympathise. We all have those moments in cinema where we have to belong to a minority opinion and it seems like the entire world is against us. It's the tribulation of a true film fan.

Sorry about the spam system blocking your comment. Wasn't me - was either YouTube or some douche who can't handle contrary opinions. I'm even sorrier that YouTube has blocked this video in the US.

  • @TheConciseStatement What? This video isn't blocked in the US.

  • @RedMetallix

Maybe that's reverted back now. But I'm sure it's still blocked somewhere relatively major.

  • @TheConciseStatement Why is it when I support bad movies I get bashed, and when I support good movies I get bashed? What is wrong with the world, is the whole fuckin world out to fucking get me?

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 because everybody has seen it (besides me, i was turned off by the trailer looked like a cheap computer game)

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 Because people are brainless sheep and it's fashionable to hate on Avatar. It's a backlash. It started before the film was even released, and it has never produced ANYTHING of critical value or even factual accuracy. Listen to some of them, complaining about it without even CONSIDERING seeing it first! Truth is that Avatar is likely one of the best films in the last few decades, if not ever. It's too much to explain, but that's about storytelling, VFX notwithstanding.

  • @torukmakto4 (1/2)

I won't elaborate deeply into the reasons again why I dislike Avatar, only to stress that I went into the cinema wanting to enjoy my first 3D experience - wanting to get my money's worth out of the exorbitant ticket price - and I didn't. Seen the same story done better, and I remain deeply unimpressed with 3D if that's as good as it looks. It's expensive going out to see films just to hate them. Maybe some people have the time, inclination and money for that but I don't.

  • @torukmakto (2/2)

I'll just add this - I can't speak for members of a counter culture trying to be cool, but as someone who's never been cool, I offer this uncool credential - I HATE The Departed. Hate it with a growing passion each passing year. Hate that it screwed so many worthy films out of the Oscar. Hate that it's only dull and average instead of outright bad, so that I can't rate it lower than 6/10. It's NEVER been cool to hate that film. I have no problem being in a minority of one.

  • @TheConciseStatement Well, I'm sorry Avatar didn't do it for you. It's not for everyone, after all. My comment wasn't referring to you, but rather to the trolls who responded to WeylandYutaniInc91 with flames because he made it clear he was an Avatar fan. You are obviously a sensible person just stating your own, original opinion, and the sad thing is that probably 90% of Avatar negativity comes from people who are not like you.

  • @Xavicat14 right on!

  • i love this movie, good years...............

  • THE MOST EPIC OPENING CREDIT EVER!

  • **knocks door**

    Sarah Connor?

    Yes

    Wrong answer.

  • skynet sent 6 terminator from future to past to klick on dislike button

  • For a minute I thought I saw the letters E-P-I-C scroll by?

    Did you see it?

  • the final battle would not be set in the future but in our time .......tonight

  • One of the awesome intro's ever!!!!!!! Arnie rules!!!

  • You have one of the best camera job of this-so clear. Love the music. Check out my Terminator 3 custom. Your sound score is much better though-lol.

  • my god i love this theme and this damn awesome sound

  • This is just absolute brilliance, they dont make sci-fi like this anymore. 80s sci-fi was the ultimate picture. Ultra-violent with great story telling....man those were the days

  • I love the part at 0:34 and onwards, it's so beautiful

  • gotta love that 80's synthesized sound. great opening titles...

  • This movie is the best Terminator movie!

  • T2 Theme is better...

  • @hottyeyez i beg to differ i prefer the 1984 version

  • i miss the 80's version of the future it was so dark and other stuff not like today's view of it where it's gray and not very interesting.

  • @neotokonaut

Hm, dunno about that. Palestine, Somalia, Afghanistan, Alabama - I suppose it exists if you look for it. Not everywhere looks like Leicester Square.

  • @neotokonaut

i agree. The 80s atmosphere really had character

  • @neotokonaut I agree. The 80s view of the future was much more grim and more alluring than today's crappy over-filled-with-cgi view

  • @southlondonpimp

Yeah, the Wandsworth sex trade isn't what it used to be, SLP.

  • @TheConciseStatement wandsworth sex trade..? ohhh riiiiiiiight...that was a joke....damn that was so good, ha ha ha he he he...man I gotta get these genius lines from u...

  • @southlondonpimp

Wow. That was pretty venomous and judgemental for an off the cuff remark. I count, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,EIGHT times you were hateful about that. A bit psychotic, no? There's a difference between throwing a tomato at the stage and throwing the table.

  • @TheConciseStatement question: is your mother in the wandsworth sex trade? she is isnt she. I KNEW it. Even after the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 times I made her orgasm, she still came for 9,10,11,12,13,14 more. Bit whorish no? There's a difference between a whore who wouldnt rim a man's ass and ur mother. 15,16,17,18 times she rimmed me. woooooahhhh

  • @southlondonpimp

Still, thanks for finding time to pen Terminator 3. Good night.

  • @neotokonaut i totally agree , i see it the exact same way as you, they lost all the atmosphere, it used to be tech noirish and all that, while today has a dull look... but that was just the 80s - everything was better no matter what ;)

  • @neotokonaut

Cause its now CGI crap that they have nowadays.

  • did yall know a black woman named sophia stewart worte the terminator and matris which was called the third eye james camron stole the script from her she later won millions of dollars in a court case against james

  • @dm6testa777 did you know thats a load of bullshit and James Cameron came up with Terminator himself and he has many fans backing him up against trolls like you?

  • @dm6testa777 Bullshit

  • 6 viewers were terminated for disliking this.

  • @armchairmaster

In the words of Fat Tony :

    "Accidents WILL happen."

  • @armchairmaster It looks like the youtube community has heeded your warning, no more dislikes since your post!

  • @armchairmaster I terminated them^^

  • @armchairmaster - We sent the original model after them. They were easy targets.

  • @armchairmaster

    7 are SCC fans

  • @vol009S That show wasn't too good, but it had one thing going for it. Summer Glau

  • Avatar is the biggest mystery to me in the history of cinema. complete style over substance.

  • james cameron ripped off the plot to terminator and got sued for it what an unimagiationative looser and abyss sucks old man balls

  • me me meee me me mememememem boom

  • this is my favorite terminator movie, i love this opening, so dark and gritty.

  • @Lebeauize I agree. I also love the old school 80's seasoning to it. You can tell the difference between this one and the one in T2.T 2 has more of a new school kick to it. But they're all fantastic and created by the same composer.

  • Love this intro SOOO much! :)

  • This intro is copied from Altered States.

  • Like a bag a jelly stuck inside a mans neck!

  • The Golden Age of action movies and hands down the best movie Cameron has ever made...his recent movies blow and Avaturd is a living proof of this

  • Hayesjw@atti97 Bro he isn't Canadian he is Austurillan! but he is bad-ass though!

  • People dont realize how important the composer of scores for these two films was in making them great...They were and still are the penicle of entertainment...but largely due to the scores

  • @RareKnowerofTruth yeah. brad fiedel is a great composer. im also a big fan of his score for fright night (come to me).

  • Ever since I was a lil kid, I liked Judgement Day better, and also the music theme for it. But as I've grown older, the first Terminator movie and the soundtrack has grown on me....it's definitely as good as the 2nd movie. Dammit both movies are EPIC classics, and so is Arnold!

  • @MickeRamone Yeah, They Say Arnold can't act, personally I don't care, he is the Terminator, and probably his only 100% succesfull role (For the first two movies then). I always liked T2 more, but T1 has a much deeper story and the style the first movie has... I like that more (T2 is the best Action movie ever, and T1 is the best movie ever, or probably a shared 1st place :P)

  • This theme tugs on the heart strings, so good. Why can't movies be like this anymore?

  • the best terminator out of the series. judgment day was great too but seeing arnie as the bad guy was badass.

  • I hate to break it to a few people out there who are fans of T3 and T4, but... those are really the worst of their respective franchises. Both are incredibly illogical, don't bring anything fresh to the table, and, as other people have mentioned, don't live up to the original two.

At least T4 was a little bit of a step up from T3. Hopefully the next people in line can deliver a T5 that redeems the destroyed factors of the Terminator series. Or maybe even a new T3 that continues after T2.
