  • Still gives me goosebumps listening to this 29 years on

  • Oh my God what perfect harmonies on this song - love it - this should be re-released or re-interpreted, Why dont X factor use songs like this rather than the same old, same old.. Purple Rain etc??

  • Classic early 80s New Pop - reminds me of the New Romantic era back then.

  • Mega pop song. Pure magic.

  • This is a great song with great production..but the ending is different to my 7" single...on that the ending has Therresa doing an angelic like vocal which is overlaid over it'sself...lovley

  • @geoffwag My 7" single was the same with Therese doing a vocal arrangment on her own at the end which has been cut off on this

  • This is just about the greatest pop record ever recorded. It's cheesy, banal but irresistable.

  • I have this on plastic--heheh---still love this----bubbles xxx

  • Like a combination of 10CC's "I'm Not In Love" and ABC's "4 Ever 2 Gether." Enchanting!

  • LOOOOOOOVE!!!!!!

  • A fantastic song, that still sounds great after all the years. Even the haircuts still look good!

  • A classic pop song. Cheesy perhaps, but hey it's still great.

  • wow! forgot how awesome this is, trevor horn is a god! nuff said.

  • Therese looked good then, not bad now either!

  • This is a Trevor Horn record also featuring Dollar.

The best thing that ever carried their name IMO.

  • oh my gosh!!iv been looking for this song for ages thanx

  • Isn't he flipping burgers now ? How the mighty have fallen. Not a fan but to sell the amount they sold I have to give them credit. Better than some of the tosh we have in the charts now. What uis it sell 10,000 to get a no 1 ?

  • Sorry folks - I can't he lp but think of the Three OF A Kind parody - "Sing a sloppy song/with voices so pathetic..."

  • Well, yes the comments about having to ship a shit -load of records to secure a high chart position in the early-mid 80's is true. I think Mirror Mirror (Mon Amour) sold around 640,000 copies, reaching No 4 in the process. Selling that amount these days would pretty much guarantee you a Top 3 place in the end of year best sellers. Lady Ga Ga has sold around this amount with Poker Face which looks set to be the 2nd biggest hit of the year - after the next X-Factor winner, of course (yawn!)

  • ive seen this soooooo many times and i never get bored drooling over my david!! lol..xx

  • the lyrics r very nice and touchy

  • A fantastic tune. It takes me back to the Greater Manchester of orange and white double decker buses, Clippercards and SaverSevens.

  • The good old Leyland AN68 Atlanteans...

  • Brilliant song

  • I think the Version of Robin Wright is much better,

  • whose robin wright? A singer?

  • I also love the Robin Wright version!!! wow. Im 49 yo... I used to DJ and played this song... How do you remember it?

  • LOVE THIS DOLLAR SONG......ROMANTIC....xxxxx

  • loved Dollar then - and still love them now!

  • Do you like David or Tereasa??

1982 was a long time ago wasnt it?

  • wow dis song reminds me of my chinita crush....who is a member of a dance group.. na sumayaw nang kanta na to sa pinas.....i wonder wer is she now... hehehe

  • WOW.... I remember this like yesterday!

    Thanks (",)

  • 27 years on

  • How romantic can you get did this get played on radio a lot?

  • Yup all the time!!!

  • thanks do youknow if their songs r still played on the radio thanks?

  • I don't think their songs are played enough. This one for instance has aged well.

  • thanks I hope they'll get played more in the future.

  • Please let me know if anyone or anyone you know have met David and Theresa and what they were like thanks,

  • I wiz voting for David to win I'm a Celeb

    Dollar soo kool, luv DVD!

  • Hi Dave, you were fab in the jungle - but glad you back in your home town Brighton UK - Watching your vids put a smile on my face and a cheer in my heart - You're a Star!

  • Still bril after all this time!!! x

  • like many of you .....

here because of the jungle thing

  • David I didn't know who you were until I'm a celeb (I'm 30 yrs old) but I think you are fab and so are your songs..classic! Gutted your gone!

  • Totally agree- David is the real king of the jungle! The others were boring in comparison.

  • greatttt lenny henry and dawn french should do this for comic releif. Love the hair!

  • There WAS a mickey take of this in Lenny Henry's 1980s show Three of a Kind, although it featured the other two: Tracey Ullman and David Copperfield. It's on watch?v=5Amyn51xZ0U

  • I loved this when i was about 16 and had all the feelings of being in love with anyone around!

  • Top group, every girl in my class was in love with him and was in love with her. DVD to win im a celeb get me out this jungle, mind u,i bet he prefers it in there than in his burger van :)

  • Fantastic pop song from a duo who never promised anything as good as this.

  • Those Arrrrr and La La La were done on Fairlight CMI. For a sampler which was the size of a toy chest and samples stored on 8.75" floppy's it still sounds stunning.

  • the firt single-Shooting Star-got a silver disc in the UK for selling 250,000 copies and didn't even get in the top 10.

  • This is some cinematic sounding shit! Trevor Horn and Dollar , what a great combination.

  • yep ! ere's how it is today ! 10.000 records and you will get to No 1 in the charts ! back in the late 70s and 80s you had to sell 200.000 singles and then you wasnt guaranteed a no1 spot..so shut the fuck up you z list celebs in the jungle..ps whats the name of the talentless young ! here today gone tomorrow twat who was in a boyband singing covers with elton john to gain some sorta celeb status ! remind me again......stay real david like you always was

  • yes although im a led zeppelin man in my opinion this along with land of make beleive (bucks fizz)and dont you love me (human league)is one of the best ever pop songs

  • Wow, this took me back. Hope he wins I'm a Celeb :-)

  • I got this single, grew up with Dollar, and this song was part of the soundtrack to my youth. Yeah maybe its a little pompous and cheesy now when you look back on it - But times were different then and certainly more innocent, its all so serious now.

  • wot a lovly song....la la la

  • david van day in celebrity a legend hope he wins it.

  • i love vanday he is best 1 in im a celebrity 2008 uk love him

  • It takes me back :-) But now seeing him on i'm a celebrity in the united kingdom wow!!!! Is it really the same guy squealing over a bush tucker trial

  • I know,its exactly what i was thinking.

  • There is an awful, awful lot of crap in my life right now.

But I've just remembered this track again, and looked it up here. And for those sweet few moments this was on all the worries just vapourised, and I was back in '82.

Love and happiness to all who, like me, love this record.

  • @starstorm55522 Know exactly what you mean. Sod the cynics.

  • @starstorm55522 Me too!!!

  • @starstorm55522 me too!

  • @starstorm55522 spot on

  • so much cheese but lovely Theresa had a lovely voice , David was sooo good looking

  • i love the part when they dancing on the clouds..so pop!!!

  • J remember hearing that lovely melody 26 years ago on Radio City...Today, the same pleasure to listen and look at the bonus video.Louis S from France

  • It's a shame it doesn't have the angelic acapella ending on this video, that was just over-the-top swoon music.

  • Dollar enjoyed massive success between 1978 and 1982 in the UK with 5 top 10 hits, 3 of which peaked at no. 4 of which this was the last. They had a couple of other hits following this and disappeared for a few years. They re-emerged in Summer 1986 with 'We Walked In Love' although receiving massive airplay, failed to chart. Not giving up that easily, they re-emerged again at the end of 1987 with their version of Erasure's 'Oh L'Amour' which eventually peaked at no. 7 in early February 1988.

  • i miss this song very much!

  • Id love posh n becks to do this for children in need !

id pay to see that :o)

  • Or maybe Tony and Cherie Blair - sure to bring a tear to the eye...

  • I hope it was shown on backtracks on myx

  • perfect!

  • she was so fit

  • and so was David and still is !!!

  • What people need to understand about Dollar back in the early '80s, is that they REALLY did sell a lot of singles. When this song was in the Top 3 in April 1982, the 12" Single was very popular. This was only on 7" single yet made it high in the charts. Dollar's productions with Trevor Horn acted as a springboard for 80s pop. Without Dollat there would have been no ABC, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, etc. Dollar deserve respect for the cool clean productons Trevor gave them.

  • I totaly agree - what sense you speak! Thanks! ; - )

  • This track has a lot of magic about it. Great words accompanied with enchanting music. Their best track imo!

  • I have the Robin Wright version and this 1 from dollar>>>>both on 12 inch versions...It's on my ipod and still loving it!!!Rollin back memries...99.5 RT!

  • Great Song, Great video, Great Duet!

  • Great love song really pretty tune. Her Vocals remind me of kylie.

  • soppy but for some unknown reason im drawn to it(i think im going mad)

  • very good takes me back

  • I knew this under the recording artist Robin Wright which was a bit less flowery, more directly sung (one male voice through the whole melody), slightly slower but with a more consistent rhythm, about 136 bpm - in that odd but much-loved genre we called hi-energy sleaze - fast tempo but with a laid back mood. Anybody have that version? I only knew Dollar for "We Walked in Love", which was slower but no less fabulous.

  • i adore this song.. i never get bored with hearing it..

  • they left out the best part w/ the acapella ending.

  • This song brings back memories, i was only 11 whwn thi came out! Brilliant tune!

  • Dollar had a few hits, they are all my favorite, Thanks to genius producer Trevor Horn!

  • where they bucks fizz

  • i guess you mean, " were they Bucks Fizz"

Answer will be no, Bucks Fizz are formed with 4 people, Dollar was only a duo.

  • dear BremenHK WOW thankyou for correcting me on my spelling!!! does it make u feel good. u stupid yellow chincy chinese fool

  • there's no need to be RACIST!

  • People like you should be banned.

  • ha he very funny LOL :)

  • Please don't misunderstand they are Bucks Fizz. BF formed by four people, Dollar was a duo.

  • Their songs were a bit sugary but the videos gave them a leg up - she's a cracker!

  • Great stuff, you just don't get quality like this anymore.

  • Fantastic song. Dollar were so under-rated - especially when they worked with Trevor Horn. This, Mirror Mirror, Hand Held In Black and White and Videotheque were wonderfully lush produced pop songs. Trevor Horn is a GOD!!!

  • agreed

  • agreed

  • luv the 80s... best days of my life....

  • wow awesome stuff surprised to see this here :-) Thanks

  • I think they made this song at the time they were splitting up as a couple.

  • I was never a huge fan of Dollar though i liked the songs,i just always saw them both as a bit mushy.I was a child when they were out.You couldn't really get away from hearing them. They were always on radio and Top of the Pops.Looking back at their songs, this one especially is quite sweet and i like it.Has anyone seen the Tracey ullman take off?

  • trevor horns a genius1 and thereza bazaar is a smart lady for askin him..

  • excellent uploads, Videotheque

  • Enjoyable video, with all the tensions of a young love affair. Love the whole Casablancaesque storyline!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol didnt realise i was a dollar fan .... but watching a few vids and smiling at them all remembering stuff i must have been.... tho therese bazzar has chemistry still. thanks videotheque 4 posting
