This is beautiful. In Kubrick's movie,Gayane's piece is in the third segment of the film right after Floyd inspects the moon monolith,and the Discovery appears. I thought I'd never find this.

I just did a search for this piece after reading an article on James Horner and how he often lifts melodies from other composers' music, and the fact that his theme from "Aliens" was very similar to this piece, and wow, it is almost the same song!
