there is NF WAY that a Testarossa would lag behind a Stock GTO in ANY configuration.
I had a Goat,my friend had a Goat and My Cousin had a Goat all Different years and the power DOES NOT transfer to the suspension and handling AT ALL. the steering was slow -no power steering and the Drum Brakes were inadequate and for the most part had a 389 and an optional 421. in the 1/4 mile they did a buck 20 at 11.5 <--poor. this chase was a mock-up for the ambush at the end. a 2004 did 126 @ 11.3
@Cadillacpimpin314 Very good eye my friend. I knew , but how many others would have known that the alley was in south beach? Goodness, maybe we have to chat.
Yeah, like you'd never notice a white Ferrari following you. Also, Crockett had been a football star at University of Miami, yet NO ONE in Miami EVER SEEMS TO RECOGNIZE HIM. EVER.
I'm not particularly a fan of the GTO really, but the 0-60 of the 455 big block GTO is quicker than that of the Ferrari Testarossa. Quarter mile of the GTO is low 14s, and the quarter mile of the Testarossa is mid 13s. So on the highway, it should have caught up with it. Of course, the Ferrari handles WAAAY better than the GTO... but the GTO would win a stop-light drag any day over the rossa...
I really miss those days of Miami. Miami really was a city in the middle of a tropical jungle. You really had a small middle class... just lower income, and ultra-wealthy. It made for an interesting society, but there was a lot to do... it's become very commercialized now.
A lot of the kind of cars you see in these shows, the Maserati Quattroportes (3), the Rolls Royces, and the S-class Benz coupes... you see them now in the local junkyards today down here.
@Todd82TA >these cars including them bimmer coupes are thrown away but a car and '80's romantic can get one of them scraps and gradually give them their glory back or at least part of it!
@Billbill80s heh :0, that Ferrari Testarossa is faster and more maneuverable than a GTO. Just Sonny Crockett give up in order to follow where that prick is going. But I'm impressed of how fast that GTO is going.
Man thank you for posting this, I've been looking for the start of this episode for almost three years and now i finally found it . Any clue as to the music when the car pulls up and the guy is tied to the tree?
The series didn't end in the 80's to be symbolic, the budget had just been cut. It had the potential to go on for a 6th season had it continued to be popular. You can really tell in season 5 they were trying to take Vice into the 90's the way it reinvents itself.
The 2006 movie is a little different because most of the characters would be retired by 2006, not to mention the actors are getting old. But in the case of a game all they'd have to provide their voices.
Exactly! btw tubbs and Don are still good looking and Castillo is still working for many movies as Lieutenant etc. There is no reason for not casting them. Ahhh man I really wish to see all these guys back to the set together...
@MrBillyLaw Im 100% with ya and i have heard over and over that Johnson and Phillips would do another show and they could get almost everyone back it would be awesome lets hope and ask Universal and Mann Productions to bring back Vice a campaign i will work with you if you want to try to do this let me know? Bring back the Vice!!! could be the slogan?
@OEKCVB Yeah man why not, I am with you, infect there is a miami vice tribute club, you can check my channel and join it and we can ask everyone to start a movement. Can you imagine Tim Truman ( the one who gave music for MV season 5) is active on myspace and reply every message I sent? we can ask him as well n im sure 100% he ain't fake. Lets do it. I will send an email to Universal studios. You never know if they also think like us :D
@OEKCVB Was this a recent revelation that I am not aware of? Edward Olamos clearly stated that Phillips does not want a part in any reunion show. His big ego is the only thing from getting that show off the ground.
one of the greatest cop shows of all time...

I'm surprised that everyone is calling it a GTO. It's just a regular LeMans.

Wonder if he was related to the elder Guzman from the episode, "Evan".

The song was Year Zero by King Swamp...it took me a while to figure it out. Cool 80's song. Cool car too, the blue one, Olds 442!
PETER1069 1 year ago
@PETER1069 That was a Pontiac GTO, not an Olds. Yeah, it is a great car for Vice !

Does anyone know the name of the song played during the car chase at the end here? Thanks

It was a big disappointment to see only 5 seasons, there could be 10 seasons I don't know what the hell Michael Mann was dreaming :S
MrBillyLaw 2 years ago
Hopefully someday the cast will reprise their roles for a game based off the show.
Supertron5000 2 years ago
I wish man, I wish but I don't think if it is possible anymore because 2006 Miami Vice was also without the real cast :\
