  • What made him crash was the sudden lack of confidence when his peg hit I think. He would have held it otherwise.

  • might well of got away with it if the fella had not breaked and gentle ridden on he lock front wheel on the drift and bike went from under him!

  • This is just a bit of friendly consumer advice, "You can't steer a rode bike on dirt!".

  • Counter-steering. He initially saved the bike and had plenty of roadway to complete the turn, but by not counter-steering to keep the bike low in the corner, he lapsed into upper body steering (leaning) and that is the result. The exact same thing happened to me 50 years ago. Look at every Harley or Cruiser, even sportbike, rider going down the freeway and they lean to change lanes-absolutely no knowledge of counter steering, and when times comes for evasive maneuvers they are in trouble.

  • back tire broke loose first, causing a steeper lean angle, peg feeler drags, rider sits up and snaps off the throttle due to the back tire breaking loose, and probably as a secondary effect gripped tighter when the sound of the feeler scraping hit his ears. Body position is not good as mentioned already. Commit to making the corner and he would have been ok. IMHO, keep the peg scraping to the track, this rider just learned a very very expensive lesson.

  • could have cranked it back over and made it round easy. everyone is entitled to a mistake, just don't make the same one twice.

  • @scarfacejr1989 - exactly, get it back down and get through the turn asap. But I understand, it is very frightening and hard to do when you are still recovering and your heart is going 100mph.

  • ROFL - fun watching idiots

so the feeler scraped, big deal, no reason to run off the road

and if you do run off the road, RIDE the damn bike.

  • Such a sick bike as well :/

  • i don't know what to say. Just get well soon.

  • Ah man, gotta practice those knee drags in a bit safer area. Smooth is the key. That along with race compound tires. Once the feeler hits, hold it there. The foot peg is hinged so it will rise up so it is not big deal to touch the feeler. Just hold steady and then control it with throttle.

  • Too bad about the fall, but that is a REALLY nice bike. Yamaha all the way!

  • Helmet save lifes :)

  • that's what you get for not putting a Fender Eliminator on your bike!

  • hahahahaha squid... glad ur ok.. but still a noob squid

  • What a dumbass... LOL

  • is the color flatblack?

  • Rubbish rider I'm afraid. No other excuse!

  • เสียดายรถว่ะ

  • He was hanging his ass off the seat but keeping his head and upper body centered meaning the bike had to lean just as far as it would have if he had not been hanging off at all.

Before the flamers comment, yes I ride, and you can check my facts on any "how to corner a sportbike" video on this site. Also pause at 0:23 for proof.

  • hahahahahahah lmao

  • WAIT A MINUTE!! I've watched this uploader's videos for awhile now and always read his name as mickey mouse. All of a sudden I see its rnickey, thats tricky mickey!...lol

  • Love these comments where everyone is saying that he should do that or that...

I bet many of them don't even have a bike or never driven one =)

  • @qettyz +1

  • @qettyz you have a valid point there however to be picky you ride bikes not drive them....

  • wearing gear is just so much better..

  • Would have been fine, he just gave up.

  • wow wtf was that?????

  • wow this guy sucks, learn how to ride bud

  • omg front brake in the dirt not a good combination

  • If you look in the slow motion replay at 1:27 he starts breaking when his bike is still on an angle. If he stood it upright, then applied the breaks he would of saved himself a lot of money.

  • BUMMER.....

  • he coulda recovered from that after the footpeg hit he shoulda got back in the lean

  • GEIL

  • so i know im gonna get ragged on for asking, but if you shorten your pegs does that means you can lean over further, and how short can you get em to get maximum lean angle...not that im good enough to ever lean that far but im curious

  • @kyo120 they're called 'Hero Blobs' in the UK. They just screw into the peg on most sports bikes and a lot of UK sports bike riders take them off to prevent just this sort of thing from happening...

  • @kyo120 you would like to raise your footpegs possition rather than shortening them. Just buy yourself a plate that will raise the original pegs position or an aftermarket footpegs package.

  • @kyo120 You can get slightly shorter pegs, but it's also common for track/racebikes to have rearsets that move the pegs higher for more clearance.

  • shit

  • This is why I always shorten my pegs.

  • Virgin

  • he did not lift the pedal during maximum turning ... perhaps forgotten .... hahahahh

  • I feel your pain man. I went down strait into a ditch at some 85+ in a corner. I had non folding rear sets. Yours fold though, if you can keep from freaking out you can ride it out. I scraped my shoe in the 60+ range when I first started, bout crapped myself! Lol

  • Panic! Most likely! As soon the pegs starting to scratch lost concentration and the rest is history!

  • so funny !

  • This almost happened to me once when I scraped my toe for the first time. It caught me off guard and I brought the bike up straight for just a sec. It probably felt hairier than it really was. Shit happens on the street, hell it even happens on the track and some understand that fact. I don't feel the need to analyze why he crashed because the deed's already been done. I'm sure you magazine/forum racers love it, but when it comes down to it, you're just a spectator and your opinion means squat.

  • if you'd have fitted nylon crash bungs they'd have prevented some of that very expensive damage. honestly folks, you'll be amazed at how well they work, and cost so little. i'd never ride a bike again without them, and yes i do have first hand experience in testing them. several times.

  • that's just sad, i feel sorry for the bike

  • L2R

  • maattsons, u r right, rider error all the way,,,it should be ,,, dipshit brakes in to corner and upsets chassis and then peg scraps and he steers off rode,,,,its not a i hit my peg n slide out,,this is a nitwit rider here, nothing more,,most of these crac=shes are btw

  • obyious he grabbed throttle to much got nothing to do with body position

  • take it to the track squid

  • christ when will you guys learn how to ride bends in a road!!! That was an eppisode of really bad riding!!!

  • was such a great bike

  • Frame sliders would've saved him a few bucks.... moron

  • @tommy120482 I don't think they would've because he dropped the bike into dirt and rocks which is on a rough surface. Sliders stop the bike from laying flat on surfaces like asphalt. Thats just hows its designed

  • @BeeJeeReview I agree the fairing would have been damaged pretty bad still but it may have saved his case cover(s) and maybe more. Its just an inexpensive add on for such a wonderful piece of machinery that can save a lot of money. Unfortunately I speak from experience...

  • @tommy120482 totally agree.

  • @kkustom666 you're right about riding the slide even if he low-sided it would have ended better. Body position was off, his head should be over the left side of the tank.

but it was not target fixation, after the slide the inertia and the uprighted bike position put him in a path off the apex. Some counter-steering would have helped but the near crash had him out of sorts and just could'nt think fast. This is a friend of mine who usually knows better

  • czemu dziura w dekielku??

  • looks like after he scraped his peg by sticking to the floor looks like he lost confidence

  • Should have stayed in it, slide the entire turn. lol But really, target fixation is a bitch isnt it. LOL... bike goes where the eyes tell it to. riding 101.

  • such a fatboy crash

  • that so could ve been avoided smh

  • wow it sure doesn't take much to do a lot of damage.

  • Comment removed

  • 俺もこれまったく同じ状態なって焦って事故ったよw

  • That'll buff out.

  • That'll buff out.

  • LOL, he made a mistake, and it cost him some cash and hopefully he learned from it.. luckily he didnt get hurt! all you pukes talk like you're pros.. shit happens to the best of em.. its if we learn from it or not... no need to ripp on the guy for having a R1 and not a 250 ninja..

  • Pegs scrape all the time, its no problem. This rider just panicked. Even when he went off road this accident was totally avoidable. He'll learn.

  • what a chomp of a rider. its clear he was a novice and just opened up when he realised he had a near mishap with peg. also, where is the leaning into corner, this oke just went straight like a 5year old on a tricycle

  • DON'T BREAK AND TURN!

  • Ride a supermoto, kids.

  • He could have still made that turn.

  • just another example of a noob who gets a 1000 trying to look cool. look at the body position. terrible! yo idiot, you should have gotten a ninja 250 instead of ruining such a pretty bike

  • Shit he broke his visor !!!!!!!!!!

  • poor bike....

  • clase pijaso jajajajajaja

  • The R is for Retard. He didn't have the skills to pull that off, after he already saved it. Both lucky & dumb.

  • all that damage? ive slid on my face longer and got up better looking than that bike

  • He done the hard part, got the bike back up and then drove it straight off the road, wtf like.

    Inexperienced biker.

  • what a drag but all say good save looked like rocks ahead better to ditch it the head on it. very happy to see up up

  • wish this noob wasnt wearing a helmet! Such a shame, that poor bike!

  • That's exactly how my low side went last summer...inexperience as nismofury said and over correction straight into the gravel...my bike didn't get as busted up though...

    Later.

  • Go to the track! Trying to be badass and dragging your knee on public roads is not smart especially when you don't know how. This was an inexperienced rider. I can't stand it when jerk offs comment about my chicken strips on my stock tires. Little do they know I use track tires at the track and street tires for the street. Lesson learned don't try to show off or do things made for the track on public streets. There is too much shit on public roads. Good thing he didn't get too hurt.

  • @Johntpartee you obviously do not ride, he was looking were he was heading. I you look down at the road inform of you, you don't know what's coming, how far to lean, what position or anything. You get all wobbly. If you look were you are going you flow so much better.

  • didnt make myself clear, never look DOWN at the road, look far away

  • he nearly scorpioned

  • FUCKING NOOB STARE AT THE ROAD ! geez how do you guys get your licenses

  • @Johntpartee Prob the same way you got yours?

  • nah that guy didnt learn shit, never look at an obstacle when you are in difficulty. he s a rookie who should get a 500cc and then learn how to ride

  • @Johntpartee I agree. Most riders go out and buy a bike they cant handle.

  • at last someone make sense here thise dudes are just there for show off, seeking attention, wish they could ride with me in europe countryside, far away from cameras haha

  • dont use front brake on dirt, wet or other shit!

  • R.I.P R1

  • lol i ran off the road hit a 20 mile hour curve at 90 u just gota ride it out unless u want ur bike to end up like this guy dont put ur feet down!

  • what a tool hit front brake in the dirt crash lol

  • what a tool hit front brake in the dirt crash lol

  • this video was fucking hilairious. its like he got scared as soon as he hit the gravel and just dumped it lol

  • Anfängerfehler, Hinterrad noch kein grib (noch Neu!?) und dann geradeaus ín die Kurve ...

  • What does a tow truck bill come to from up there?

  • now that fucked up....

  • Helmets save lives. Perfect example.

  • @PlatinumRomance

i dunno where in the world would people drive motorcycles without helmets but not in here :)

  • @TheCyreda People RIDE without helmets all the time here in the states...unfortunately.

  • @PlatinumRomance

thats just stupid. they prob like the wind blowing their eyes off the face? XD

In finland here we think helmets look cool and thats one reason no one rides a motorbike without them

  • @TheCyreda Yes, i agree with you. Wearing a helmet fits any sports bike, they look cool. I always wear mine. The people who dont wear helmets think they are cool and that spells disaster.

  • @PlatinumRomance Who said they didn't?

  • @porscheaircooled Lol oh brother, what world are u living in?

  • @PlatinumRomance not always save pp :(

  • @nobus97 You're right, not always. But they minimize injury and potential death.

  • @PlatinumRomance good example, this is a perfect example -> /watch?v=6Qi2sq94aKA&feature=related

  • He scraped the peg because he wasn't using a good body position, which caused his bike to lean more than it needed to. If you shift your weight into the turn, and put your head by your mirror (not just sticking your knee out trying to scrape it like a fag) you can take a tighter turn while your bike stays more upright. This guy did the opposite- he's centered over the bike, if not leaning the wrong way, and *crash* a rookie crashes a nice bike. He should have bought a Ninja 250 first.

  • @MeetTheMattsons He could be trying to improve his skills now. He may have been a great rider but now is trying to take corners better. Keep that in mind and do not assume things that are not said.

  • @MeetTheMattsons Never a truer comment left on a spill video bravo sir!

  • Another one for the breakers yard.

  • was ein voll pfosten schrottet seine R1 schade um das motorrad

  • Top Tip: KEEP the edge of your TOES on the end of the peg, better to scrape them than have this happen.

  • How did he get so low to scrape that peg? Remove those fkn stoppers..those things suck.

  • i agree, he had time to recover. but even if he didn't, you DO NOT use the front brakes on sand, gravel & especially DIRT! thats why the front wheel washed. rookie mistake

  • He had plenty of time to recover after catching the peg. He should've been able to ride it away without and accident.

  • fuck mann thats such a sweet bike... shame it ended that way

  • hahahahahahaha!

  • After all that rash that damn peg is still there!!

  • you got some sweet videos on here ! nice editing job as well

  • fuck man, just fuck!

  • @0.14 rider look at his bike 1st.not himself, no pain no gain bro. :respect:

  • Why do people with that little riding ability attempt to ride a bike like an R1!!

  • I love watching people crash!

  • @stone4451 Some explanation would be fine.

  • @frozonev It just makes me laugh!

  • Why is it always the guys with nice bikes who are crashing? Makes me sad.

  • HOW MANY of these do we have to see befor they fix that damn spot. I mean come on!! you look at Mollolland vids and this spot EATS even the best of them.

  • @Leenja Blame the road, not the nooblet trying to over-do it in the wrong corner? There isn't anything you could do to 'fix' that corner. Better to fix one's riding and really learn the road before riding fast. Most of these people are either trying to gas it out of the corner, lean in too deep while going too fast, or just flat-out made a dumbass mistake like target-fixation or locking up the brakes. Do a safety lap to feel out the road, and you're much less likely to crash later.

  • @kuhlka if it was one or two maybe even three times I seen that happen but there is a vid of NOTHING but ppl wobling on that same spot over and over same spot not 5 feet ahead nor behind the same spot every time. Now I am not saying that some if not most of them are noobs but they cant all be.

  • @Leenja Not noobs, but people making common mistakes on a twisty canyon road. Treat that road like a race track and it'll eventually bite you in the ass, just like Ortega, Palomar Mountain, Angeles Crest, Banner Grade, and many other roads here in SoCal. Keep in mind MANY more people ride that road without a single crash, myself included. Btw, there are a lot of people on local forums who've only been riding a year or less and think they're ready for that road...

  • @kuhlka You got it right.I watched this vid a few times..this is what I came up with,he had a few friends there one filming his ''watch me race antics.and I dont think the peg had anything to do with the get off.but as you state, target fixation,he saw the berm and locked his vision on it.''wre you look is where you go I learned that during my road racing club days..

  • poor r1.. :(

  • If u know u dont make just pull the clutch and hope for the best.Don't brake because therefore u can't get the bike in an angle...

  • The footpeg hitting the ground didn't cause the crash, it was his inability to look where he wanted to go that caused the crash. He looked off to the side of the road, and, well...that's where he went. He could have totally saved that (he already had it saved, actually), had he not panicked and just keep looking around the corner. But at least he looked good with those leathers on. Tool.

  • @mhkpilot I have to agree.Target fixation

  • tist tist tsis!!

  • good thing he had that helmet the visor broke off on impact

  • What a loser. Put your training wheels back on.... bahahahahahaha

  • @yocker6 Mate, if you've never done this, you probably don't ride bikes. Give the guy a break, he's not a loser, he's just very inexperienced.

  • look again it was his peg

  • that's stupid how he fell

  • I was yelling save it save it! You did save it but must have not taken your eyes off the side of the road.

  • haha you guys are smucks!

  • idiots on nice bikes smh

  • โง่

  • stupid guy ! :D

  • HIs body position isn't right... He didn't continue what he did after the foot peg hit the ground. It's ok... Ride as long as you can mate.

  • Could have just rear wheel staired it out wasnt even near a high side.

  • All the gear......no idea !! He just stared right at the dirt and then hit the brakes ....cock !

  • When this happens guys, don't try to stop in the dirt. Roll off the gas and ride right through.

  • He can save it,

  • Now Im gonna buy a fucking HELMET for my rides godamn!!!! he would have gotten fucked if not for his helmet.

  • I've had much worse than that and saved it. I remember on time when the back of the bike came round completely sideways (like a speedway bike) I rode it through the curve and kept going as if I had meant to do it. All my mates were like, "Do that again"

  • A more experienced rider would have saved that no problem!

  • I can't help but stare at the indicators on the slow mo

  • ABORT THE MISSION!!!

  • Ebay little bit of bondo cheap paint like new. LOL

  • that bike was so beautiful!

  • Srly how the hell you guys Record the Crashes?

  • @xhitm3n im so agree with that question!

  • ouch, wasnt that dads bike?

  • get a car bro, you are not born for a bike!!!

  • KISS THE FLOOR BABY

  • battle wounds...
