  • "Mr. Super Dooper"!

  • I saw this danced by 4 girls in tailcoat top hat, cane, and dancing shoes and nothing else! Sure beat the heck out of Fred.

  • -Excelentísimo!

  • "He hit Buddy! C'mon girls!"

  • pwnage

  • I'd like to see today's big time dancers do what Astaire could do.

  • The Nicholas Brothers

  • ...Whoa man... O.O... and my drama teacher expects me to come close to that?!?!?!?....hehehehe -thats my nervous laugh- :L

  • unbelievable choreography

  • I used to dance like this, but then I took a cane to the face.

  • @Vitamot You dance with your feet,NOT with your face soooooooooo................

  • @Vitamot You mean you took a cane to the knee

  • 80 years later, and it's still awesome.

  • o hai squint, ya faggot

  • ... How'd the canes get back into their hands?! o.O

  • How this was made? Mirrors or are there other dancers?

  • @1luiszepol There are other dancers. They probably practiced and practiced this like no other. Then finally filmed it. Once. Film cost so much back then, that I bet this was the first and only take.

  • Notice the bar code back drop.

  • Canes smoke and mirrors hypnotize ..see how they put on the Ritz.

  • And I have another question.... Why is this not cool anymore!?!?

  • This may sound like a dumb question, but is he talking about a Ritz cracker?

  • @bcount1 I'm sorry but that WAS a dumb question. No.

  • @bcount1 The Ritz cracker takes it's name from the word. The dictionary def of ritz is "ostentatious luxury and glamour", so the term "putting on the ritz" is living in elegance and luxury and making a big show of it. Think Las Vegas. A huge show, pretty lights, pretty girls, fame, fortune... but in reality it's just a desert.

  • Muy bueno y sigue siendo exito a traves del tiempo.

  • Heh, I got here from a Young Frankenstein video...

  • IVE ALREADY DONE IT!!!!!! look at my channle on cooper on the ritz

  • 00:59 Use the Force, Fred ...

  • One person couldn't rise the stick

  • @sergiogonzalez17395 which one ?

  • 00:59 Fred Astaire has been taking lessons from Madam Hooch :)

  • wow this is amazing i may be 15 but damn teens really need to know what the real arts of dancing is this is real dancing

  • @MrJohnDoe2525 no one here gives two shits about your age and when you state it you sound like a wanker

  • 00:58 Fred Astaire is a jedi!!

  • This ain't dancing. Where's the body-popping and moonwalking?

  • @JasonRadley

... you are being sarcastic right?

  • @JasonRadley This IS dancing. What is called dancing in the last 20 years is NOT dancing, I don't think there is a word for it. Maybe you should remove your horse blinders.

  • @JasonRadley If you don't like the great dancers, why did you come to watch this video?

  • Who says white people can't dance. There's your proof! And like you said, MJ liked it and used it.

  • Alot of Astaire in Michael Jackson!

  • @Strtwalker55 thanks! Michael was crazy about Fred. :)

  • Talent. Something in the music/show business that does not exist today.

  • 0:58 wingardium leviosa

  • Occupy!

so wurden (werden) die leute abgelenkt!!!

  • I'm absolutely mesmerized by this.

  • Now this is how you get a girl, guys.

  • @Aranel96 back in 1930 something XD

  • What ever happened to good old white entertainment.

  • Breakdancing now cannot be compared to this

  • It's actually kind of depressing, knowing that you'll never be cool as this

  • This is pure, talented, genius. This was before digital cameras, when you had to do the whole routine as if you were performing live on stage because all you had to capture it with was film, which was not cheap. Bravo!

  • I did this with my dance group and we won our compitition

  • @BalletGirl312 Congrats!

  • Genius

  • 1 person killed a kitten.

  • Fred Astaire was a jedi 0:57

  • @87petrus ha ha ha i loled so much at this comment :))

  • Amazing...! This is what true dancing is! Heck this is true talent overall! A great legend=D

  • meh...taco's better

  • Ok, so of course I've heard of Fred Astaire and his wonderful dancing but I've never actually seen it. Now I see why he's a legend.

  • this man is dancing in heaven now!

  • Bravo Fred Astaire!!! what a wonderful dancer he was....lovely !!!! no one like him...

  • Huh. Actual talent. Weird. Never really see that much anymore.

  • What exactly happened at 0:59-1:01????????

    im soo confused T-T

  • Now that's what you call good old school entertainment, dancers nowaday's just can't cut it. In this day and age it's all about who can wear less clothes and shake their butt all in the camera . I'm only 16 and I prefer watching than all that other stuff

  • i was born in the wrong century. fo realz.

  • fred astaire-putting on ritz is perfect gijoe989.

  • Weird.

This is EXACTLY what I do every morning while getting dressed.

  • >0:37

Never have I seen anyone look like they're having so much fun.

  • :59... What is this sorcery?

  • @TheJokerInClover It looks like Fred Astaire went to Hogwarts and learned how to call brooms into his hand from Madame Hooch so well that he perfected it with canes too.

  • from which movie does this song come from? top hat?

  • Man this makes me want to get into good enough shape to learn how to tap dance again!

  • Stomp does some of this with garbage can lids and sticks. But Astaire and Kelly did it all first.

  • BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I will do this someday.

  • @ClayGunslinger

When you get around to it, record it for us! =D

  • @ClayGunslinger

    Yeah

Fashion never goes out of style..?

And was it better in the old times?

    Cheerz/MazterGuitarz

  • @MazterGuitarz You live long enough, you'll see old things come back in style.

  • @ClayGunslinger I will do this, most likely with the inmates of a Filipino prison

  • How did they do the stick trick?

  • Astaire will always be the man.

  • Puttin' on the ritz and dark suit. He has style.

  • He is boss.

  • Nice Technicolor

  • Woot this was in Young Frankenstein 8D! And now I know who Fred Astaire is XD! YAy he was referenced in Snoopy!!! the Musical! :)

  • Fantastic!

  • This is a shortened version :(

  • The name of the movie in which the song is used is "Young Frankenstein." Frankenstein and his monster dance to this when he presents his creation to the public.

  • was this song in a movie ??

and what is the name of this movie ???

  • priceless!!!
