Deus Ex HR is awesome! Just finished it, and decided to check out some trailers and review, and I have to say: This trailer gives you the wrong impression of the game... The game is nothing like this at all, this is like a stereo-type Hollywood movie trailer, the only thing that's missing is the narrator voice; "This year, Adam Jensen will take action"... The game deserves a lot better than to be pitted into that generic group, because it's a masterpiece of epic proportions! GOTY so far.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution has the same elements as Crysis 2 and Metal Gear Solid. It's like a combination of Crysis 2, Metal Gear Solid, and iRobot the movie.

If you try to pull any MGS or Crysis bullshit in this game on any difficulty higher than easy, then you will, without a doubt, have your ass handed to you within seconds. I know this is like a revived experience of Deus Ex for nex-gen games, but what I was confirming was that like in Crysis 2 you have "Augmentations" which like in Crysis you have Nanosuit modules, like invisibility, super jump, run faster, basically the same in that way. And like MGS you gotta use stealth, and be 1 step ahead, and the bosses are like those in MGS 3 & MGS 4.

@XeresKyle You seem to be forgetting that there were two Crysis games, and unlike MGS, DX and Splinter Cell share the same idea that your enemies should never know you were there and that you shouldn't hurt anyone unless absolutely necessary. Sure, in DXHR you CAN go Metal Gear on everyone, but it gives you less experience. In SC, you CAN shoot and stab everyone you see to clear out the guards, but you get a lower score. I agree on the bosses, though. Barrett, at least, felt like a MGS boss.

I already hate the trend of new fans who haven't even played the original Deus Ex. This game looks like it's going to be excellent(especially if the game's elements are consistent with the original masterpiece) but it's probably not going to be good as the first game. Few games have achieved such a level of enjoyability and depth. I can't wait for this though...looks very much in the vein of Blade Runner.

@Locksus Yeah, I've read them... But I hardly ever believe previews/very early reviews. I find them most of the time to be positive, even if the game is horrible. For chrissakes, Sonic 2006 initially got very good reviews.

Also, I'm usually a pesimist about games, because that means that however bad the game was you're expecting it and can feel smug and think you're smart, but if you're optimistic, you'll be dissapointed.

But, as I said, I'll still buy it.

I have been fortunate enough to play this amazing game early, and let me say a few things. For one, it is a TON of fun. Secondly, the graphics do not suck. They look very polished and stylized. While they aren't the best graphics I have ever seen, who cares? The gameplay is awesome! Just believe me when I say that the game is great, it's everything I want from a game like this, it is even challenging. I am definitely picking it up when the full game is released.

Skin Textures are better in Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 as SquareEidos uses more of a gloss finish. This is probably to help compliment the lighting and reduce the number of calculations needed to render the scene. It's really hard to compare Deus Ex's environments to Uncharted consider that the majority of Deus Ex consists of Smooth surfaces due to its Dystopian Cyberpunk aesthetic. While Uncharted 2 and 3 tend to glob trot more and put way more emphasis on detail across varying landscapes.

Played it, the cover system actually makes stealth pretty fun, and you don't even have to use it to beat the game, (At least, the large leak anyway) it's just presented as an option. Also, your enemies are much smarter this time around, they actually keep trying to kill you even if they can't get an exact fix on you. It's not like in the first game where they just stop firing and go "GUH?!"

@PARADOXADOR Yeah, that kind of shit sucks, it's a pet peeve of mine too. I played it through twice, first time using the cover system, second time without. It's pretty much equally playable using both styles, as far as I could tell, I never felt particularly pressured to go all Gears of war on anyone's ass. Hell, you can complete the entire thing without killing any non-boss NPC's OR any of the "I don't know how to play tactical FPS's" player aids. All in all I'd say it's shaping up pretty good

This game is sweet.. I found and played the beta, and it took me at least 6 hours to get to the first boss. Oh, and hacking is the way to go, killed about 6 guys by hacking a turret without getting seen. For a demo, the graphics were beautiful as well. Except for the fact that the running system could do with a little work, all the stats are well balanced. Basically, you gotta choose between helping out your augmenting company, or siding more with the 'pure humans'.
