I only use gloves when i have blisters on my hands so it doesnt hurt to run up walls or cat anything thing when theyre gone i dont wear them anymore:)

your fingers and palms have a natural grip that is superior to the the grip of gloves, all you need to do is build on the callouses on your hands. if youre wearing gloves how do you grip with your fingertips anyway?

Parkour started with David Belle, not a "bunch of french guys jumping around". These guys are noobs compared to Damien Walters and Tim "Livewire" Shieff. Be sure to check them out.

well the idea of parkour actually started in the french army, David Belle just developed it into the parkour that we know and practice today.

Nice vid guys! I do loads of bouldering and would love to start this but dont really know anywhere i could do it (I live in the middle of the countryside in the UK) anyone offer some help?

parkour doesnt just have to be done in the city and im sure there are some places round you, you just need an eye for it :P you can use the trees or just 1 railing i first trained on this railing and i still do theres a limitlessnumber of things you can do starting basic with vaults and then you can do balance on the railing precisions onto and off the railing you can do anything you just need the eye anyway goodluck from here in sydney :D

if there really isnt anything theres always nature :).

Oh indeed so yeah, however, the resoning for me thinking it was est up, there were over 100 camera shots, in order to get them with 3 cameras, you have to film one thing, stop, change location, set up again etc it's a lumbering slow process.

Unless they did take out like 100 cameras etc.

However, Traceurs would win hands down in alot of things.

Parkour is the way :)

Free running and parkour share a philosophical difference. Parkour is about moving from point A to point B as efficiently as possible.

Free running is about the art of motion. It is supposed be to very elegant.

Essentially, free running is parkour, but more showy.

You speak of parkour and yet you measure other traceurs as either good or bad.

What do you think is good parkour? People jumping around doing flips and tricks? Or maybe people doing extreme movements, like huge ass cat leaps or gap jumps?

I agree with shortaflip and can only add that you can't judge a traceur by how high he can jump from or how fast he can move through an enviroment. If you are going to judge, judge on their understanding of why they do something now how they do something.

I agree with shortaflip and theloneminkus. They are true to the sport and are only doing positive things with this video. What's the point hating on them? Jealous because you don't have a video up on the tube or because these guys look like they're having more fun that you? Don't pay attention to cmanclan the hating man, these guys ARE good, and imaginative, which is what Parkour is about.

You can judge people by their transitions/flow and of course their control for each technique. But this vid was all in pics and slideshows mostly so whos to say.

i disagree with masterexploder and thelone and shorta in saying that you cannot judge a traceur's skill level; this implies that there is in fact no skill in parkour. clearly some traceurs are more skilled than others; like vietdumbass said, flow, control, technique but also level of difficulty of the course as well as the speed and grace with which a traceur gets through his or her environment. These dudes are good tho, no need to hate. there are better, but they are good.
