I love in these films how they look at the speedo and its only doing 40, so they change gear, but it always seems like they dont realise that they have to do it in order to go faster.

I know its a movie and all but still, a little realism coulden't hurt.
I know that the nose of a car can raise if there's not enough downforce to keep it on the ground, but I don't believe it can get to the point of body panels ripping off and flying 100+ feet in the air.
And I think anyone would be smart enough to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN if the nose of their car raises.
Regardless though, if you put nitrous in a Lambo, you deserve to die.

@coolcars2323 In the movie the Lamborghini wasn't low enough to the ground and there wasn't enough down force in the front, therefore the down force produced by the spoiler at the back of the car is greater causing the front end to rise. When the air flow changes suddenly at high speeds you can flip. In turn the change of airflow broke the spoiler off, finally flipping it. There is a video online of a car flipping during a race. Its simple

@hoboness202 Yes, SLRs are automatic but they also have a setting called "speedshift." When the car is in the automatic setting it wont redline. So you can set it to speedshift and all you have to do is nudge the gear lever to change gears. There are also buttons on the steering wheel that can change the gears.
so fake. How is this possible? Big Red is a '69 camaro with a stock body with just a tiny rear lip spoiler and a stock front chin spoiler and it goes 220 no problem.

When the air flow changes suddenly at high speeds you can flip. In turn the change of airflow broke the spoiler off, finally flipping it. There is a video online of a car flipping during a race.
