vintage treats - that batman joker look was ahead of its time. I hear its quite a common fashion for young gentlemen at student goth nights these days.
Wow this is a gem. I saw them at Epsom college as one of my first ever shows as a school kid then 50 or so shows after that. All these videos are so wonderful to watch.
My Dad was saying that they often ended a concert with a particular song, with a big confetti/fireworks explosion near the end, is that 'the whole world window', or another song?
That would be The Whole World Window - you can relive the experience in the video of the performance at Brixton Fridge. Another, later, grand finale song was The Everso Closely Guarded Line.
Not quite - Graham Simmonds, who is in the photo, seems to have left, though Marguerite Johnston is still there. I reckon this must be around 1983/84.
Marguerite is in Norf London!

"The early bird catches the worm, does the worm think that that's the way that we all go?" is a genius lyric

Thanks for the info! I wonder how Tim's recovery is going... oh the irony of The lead man in 'cardiac arrest' having a heart attack.
GET WELL SOON, we want that new album!

Get well soon, period. New album or not, just get well Tim!

@kungfuasgaeilge Actually the grand finale of every Cardiacs gig was Is this the life. Those gigs really were something special.

I remember seeing them play at a venue in central London with Panixphere about 1984 - can anyone tell me where I was that evening? The old Marquee?

Now I'm being taken back to a shared house in Hull, early '90's. Saw The Cardiacs twice at London Uni and Scunny Baths. Brilliant!
