mosley cant hurt pac at ALLL...Pac is changing everyday...getting faster and stronger...He will enTIRLEY walk thru mosley's punches and steemroll him clean....and mosley not only is an old man but really has the superficial image of one...I cant imagine that huffing and puffing old man taking ONE of pac's punches without being blacked out ...not only that but pac will throw a MILLION of them..and wont be simply phased by mosley....2nd round knockout at most...but I can foresee a 1st rnd knockout

Nice analysis, i think the pound for pound list title should be change to the most exciting active fighters of this era pound4pound, which is what all boxing fans really expects in a fight, with due respect to mr. mayweather who should be strip from d list for being inactive just to be fair with those hard working aspiring fighters like bradley and donaire. Fighters would tend to really train hard to give exciting fights, so they will not feel always being cheated by hypes from promoters.

guy with comparable power...miguel cotto and clottey (even though he didnt do anything but stand there but his record shows it with 57% of his wins by ko) with speed...i wouldnt say marquez....but marquez is the one opponent who's given pac the most trouble (apart from the two people who Ko'd pac...morales who he lost to...& the other guy he had a draw with) and marquez is the only person pac didnt beat by KO or unan. decision...1st fight was a draw 2nd marquez was robbed for a slip decision

two issues vivek....vitali is pretty unbeatable, a huge HVWt....that said, he has too many pounds on him to make my pd4pd list....and Bradley, tho improving should not be considered, at least not in front of a guy like Martinez, who is right now in the top 3-5, easily!...annihilation of Pavlik, Punisher..impressive!..regardi­ng Mosely, your pt is well taken regarding his speed, but Floyd exposed his lack of all around boxing ability...and given the styles, Mosely will trade and get punished!

devon was exposed, bradley did well though still sticking his head into the business, and i think you have to blame bradley since its a common occurence in almost every one of his fights...but devon is a grunter with little power, sure he can outbox mediocre oppostion but he is exposed at the top level with his powerless grunts....donaire, on the other hand, is the real thing....

@Vivek1251 i guess what i'm trying to say, really, is that there's "best p4p", and there's "greatest p4p" (either "of all time" or "of the era"); and while donaire hasn't paid enough dues to be considered one of the latter, he's easily among the top 5 best p4p boxers of today. i think we've seen enough of him to be able to say that.

i think if pacquiao struggles against mosley, and donaire steamrolls another high caliber opponent like moreno or agbeko, it wouldn't be such a crazy thing to put the "monsterman" at #1.

you're only as good as you're last fight, as they say.

of course, pacquiao would still be the "greater" of the two, but as far as who's better at the present time, donaire would have the edge if he dominates another top bantamweight and pacquiao struggles against mosley.

just my two cents.

no, pacquiao has never faced anyone with the combination of size, speed and power that shane mosley possesses. even in his current state, mosley is probably manny's most dangerous opponent since marquez.

i'm still confident manny will win though. i'm comforted by the fact that shane lost to cotto several years back. i believe a prime pacquiao is better than a prime cotto. still, its not hard to imagine pacquiao getting hurt by that chopping overhand right of shane's, but knocked out? doubt it

now if you ask me to name the greatest boxers of today, or of this era, then marquez and hopkins would be among the first names i would mention.

i think we have to distinguish between "best p4p" and "greatest of the era" (or of today, for that matter). the former sounds pretty straightforward to me: if everyone weighed the same, who would emerge on top? i don't think we need to take it as anything more than what the term itself suggests.

individual performances are used as barometers to gauge how good a fighter really is, but overall accomplishments isn't the main criteria.

@Digs259 - His best performance came 3mos ago, not 3 yrs ago. The guy is 46 and still competing at a world class level and it's all bcuz of better than average skills. You have to consider that bro. Pavlik was a KO artist, but what happened when he faced a man w/skills? Pascal, similar story. That's why i wanna see Donaire face someone comparable or better to make a call on him. Skills change the whole picture my man. It removes all doubt one way or the other.

miguel cotto had comparable power to mosley, his KO percentage pretty high, anyway I believe donaire deserves his ranking 9 or last 10 fights ended in KO within 8 rounds, he KO'd all his opponents in championship fights, and finally montiel and darchinyan were on most peoples p4p lists when donaire crushed them both, its not just the here and now, donaire has been doing it for the past 4 years, he is just now getting his due. For p4p I look at how well fighters dominate other elite opponents

@Digs259 - You could argue Cotto, but his speed is not nearly the same. He was fast enough to catch Pacquiao, but didn't have the toughness to sustain. He's probably the closest youre gonna get to someone who had Mosley's blend of speed and power. Regarding Donaire, the guy is amazin' and i love him, but lets put it into proper context. Top 3 fighter in the sport today??? We can argue that....I cant easily prove that theory wrong bcuz its debatable. Top 3 P4P??? No based on resume & tenure

@MrLouieG : I guess i'm biased, my man. If you're telling me that Clottey had speed and power on Shane Mosley's level??? Close but no cigars. Clottey wasn't that fast, and in Mosley, you have one of the best KO artist that the lightweight division EVER saw. His KO ratio went down when he went up in weight, but Clottey has a 50% KO ratio over 40 fights. Mosley has a career KO ratio of 72% over 54 fights....Not even close my brother. Again....im waitin' to hear proof....COMPARABLE POWER & SPEED???

@Vivek1251 was not that fast?he is equally fast only then clottey prefers to reserve his speed on timing.clottey made judah look slow if you remember that fight.on power,clottey is the heavier handed while mosley has power if he really exerted much effort.both got their own qualities and both are equally good on their own personal skills but if you say that mosely is too far ahead then definitely you are bias.
