@Suproner I don't know what the problem might be. Does it crash when you get into a battle, or when the game attempt to load troops/villagers?

@lolste116 I wouldn't really know, I'm sorry. What I would suggest is checking to make sure you have the right version of Mount&Blade to run it. Other then that, you may want to check the Taleworlds forum, (and even register there) to see if anyone else has had the same problem.

If you're still interested in this mod, a newer version is in the works for Warband.

@mariotttttttt dnt know how it works in this mod but genraly in war band you have shield only with your sign and if yupick up other shield the sign will change into your so I would say to either choose this sign as yours when you have the chance. I guess city of Sparta had this sighn so try to play as them

@mariotttttttt idk if this helps u but if you click the shield button (right mouse pad) and then click the attack button with the shield button still held down its supposed to work i never have done it in any other mods yet just because i forget about it all the time

i believe that this mod has died its demo came out around 2008 maybe before and they havnt made a beta or alpha in about 3 years and so i believe its dead

@arnyold Actually, I don't. I made this video a while back, when still using M&B's v1.011, and I don't know if it's going to be ported to Warband just yet. There will be a mod released in the same relative time frame for Warband, though, called 268BC.

@Carlos96tb This mod worked for v1.011 of Mount&Blade as I understand it, not any earlier or later versions of it. And certainly not Warband, in case you're trying to use the mod with that. I'm no longer playing Mount&Blade at the moment, but I had no problems with it when running v1.011.

At the time I downloaded it, it wasn't the final release of this mod. It was a beta, which still owned the map of Calradia.

@pcgameplayvidz Sorry, the full version hasn't been released yet, and I don't think it's even still being worked on. The latest version hadn't changed the map from Calradia, so this is all we've got.

The Spartans didn't use much armor, instead relying on skill, plus giving them the ability to move around more easily in combat.

shield reduces much you're sword damage..don't use it unless some archers are shooting at you or if you're sorrounded by many enemies all trying to beat you...;)

@princeofperiaByte Alright. Well, when you download a mod, (and most mods I know of are self-contained in a single folder), you can place it in the "module" folder, and thereafter it's name should appear in the mod list when starting up Mount&blade.

When you've started the game, do the models, textures and environments reduce your framerate? Or does it play smoothly, then suddenly crash?

You may have to check the forum for that. There are some separate downloads that are recommended for you to install before you play it. Mostly, they reduce the texture quality, as that's what becomes so taxing once the models actually load. It is a demanding mod, after all. If I don't lower the texture quality to 0% on mine, it would crash too.

You can have over 200 men in your army, I'm sure. Factors like charisma, party morale, food inventory and leadership affect it. Those are skills you learn as you level your character.

If you mean having 200 men on-screen, that can't be done with the native game, but there are battle size mods that allow it to go into multiple hundreds.

You can download the mods from several sources. You should get a .exe install or a simple folder containing the mod. If the file is executable, open it and the mod should install automatically. If you have downloaded the mods' folder itself, there's a "mods" section in your mount&blade game files which you will have to place it in. After having placed it in the mods folder, you'll have a selection for you the next time you open M&B as to which mod you want to play. if you need further help PM me

It's in the scripting of the mod, which I only know to be in v1.011. Shield bashing itself does not come complementary with the latest version.

There is a formations script attached to this mod which allows you to simply press "J" to form the ranks. It doesn't always work though: in some scenarios they'll walk all the way to the edge of the map, or they'll form ranks about 20 feet to the left or right of where you set them to.

nice mod,always like playing it....if u want to win here,u must be the first who kills xD,so my weaps i always use are:heavy great rhompaia,for great damage,a good aspis for protection,a horse and a dory for fast mount thrust attacks and a large bag of javelins to take downs weak enemies as the close by :P

it ain`t that easy to win a battle now

Indeed! It's very fun, and that javelin damage is probably fairly realistic. Wouldn't want to get hit by one of those.

No. You'll have to create a new save within each new mod. I find it's a good challenge though.

You're using the same program, and essentially your account is only determined by your saved game, and with each new mod, that does change.

I haven't played it much recently, but the cities themselves aren't physically changed from the originals, and the heroes are still there. The only main difference is the formations, the environments when battling, the shield-bashing ability, and the weapons and armor.

In Native, units will form a line when given the command to hold position. You do that by first selecting the unit, be it infantry, cavalry or archers, then pressing F1. You select them with 1, 2, 3 or 4 on your keyboard.

In this mod, J and K work to form ranks and to form a wedge.

What I mean is, normally on the map screen your viewer follows the avatar around the map. In this mod once I get much past Jekala, and some parts of the Athenian empire, and the viewer stops following, but the character keeps moving, like it's hit a wall. The viewer tries to follow, but it can't.
