Why does no-one figure out the most obvious thing about Hummel: that he openly admits at his wife's grave that if she were still alive, he would never have stolen the VX rockets and threatened civilians in the first place. His wife dying at the age of 47 (presumably of cancer or something) has sent his little train round the coo-coo bend. He snapped inside his own head because he couldn't take it. It wasn't nothing to do with the reasons he said; it's more than her loss pushed him over the edge
As a country we send our men in the field everyday to fight and die, they do so with out question because that is what they do. Here at home we send our warriors in law enforcement into the field to risk their lives everyday. Both of these warriors do so for little pay and are often hated for there actions by people who have no idea what it takes to do these jobs and often state that they themselfs couldn't do either of these important jobs. From someone who's been there "Thank You".
Isn't this the same president from armageddon?

And in the middle, Frank Hummel.
That we have ignored,
abandoned or marginalized...
a great soldier like Frank Hummel...
and that American boys have paid
for that neglect in blood...
is equally real
and equally tragic.

It's hard to believe Bay once made a decent non-cheesy action films that were more than just explosions for kids and idiots.

@MarkArandjus This is Bay's best movie, and next being Bad Boys.... That pretty much sums up Bay's good movies.

@coryboy345 I pretty much agree.

Best. Moment. In. Cinematic. History.
Everything about this scene is just terrific. The Rock is an action movie with some heart and soul in there, as well.
