  • What is most remarkable about Jack Kennedy is that he daily displayed such grace, wit, & courage despite living in almost relentless pain. He gallantly bore his cross of suffering in silence, electing to flash that wide Irish grin that masked acute physical agony that would have embittered & withered lesser men. Steeling himself, he embraced life with a cool but passionate intensity. Paul Fay Jr., called Kennedy "the funniest person I ever met." He was the embodiment of grace under pressure.

  • Really sweet, yet heartbreaking video. I imagine how hard it must have been for John Jr. to watch films like this in his adult years. Knowing and seeing how much his father loved him and yet obviously having zero memory of it. Sadder than sad. And now JFK Jr. is gone too. Tragic isn't strong enough of a word.

  • The best of all of time!!

    Our real warrior

    ViVA KENNEDY...

  • JFK was a typical womanizing cheating immoral liberal who wore his god on his sleeve.

  • Very lovely video! The song makes it emotional. He didn't have to die the way he did. Just because he was doing something good for the people, others did what they did to him. May he rest in peace...

  • I love Jack

  • @tonyclifton2010 You again!! *LOL* Just more senseless blather!!!

  • If JFK had been a Protestant instead of a Catholic, he would have won the 1960 election by a landslide because he was the best candidate. The election was close because of his religion - and for no other reason. By the same token, in the early 1900's here in this country, if Joe Kennedy had been a WASP instead of Irish Catholic - any of those shenanigans he is supposed to have pulled would have gone unnoticed.

  • @0907oliv

JFK won in Protestant states during his compaign, which ruled out his Catholic religion. He proved it wasn't about his beliefs, and I don't believe it played a fact on winning the presidency! And I think it didn't matter if it wasnt a landslide lol he earned it by being 10 steps ahead of Nixon.

  • Tlhanks for your comment. I was 10 in 1960. I came from a Catholic family. His religion was a big deal - and there was a concern that he would lose because of it. I know he won in Protestant states - but some of them were very close. I wrote this post because someone wrote below a "stealing the election" charge. Those charges for some can only be made if the election was close. In my post I gave the "real" reason the election was close. Truly a lot of people had that bias then.

  • Yes, he was the most outstanding candidate - but when a President wins by a close margin he does not have a "mandate" from the people, and does not pull enough members of his party in with him into Congress - and so it hurts his ability to get legislation through. Despite that, in a 2009 poll of 65 historians, evaluating 10 categories of presidential performance, JFK was rated the 6th greatest President. Hopefully some day, he will be rated at least No. 4 behind Lincoln, Washington & FDR.

  • @0907oliv I really doubt he would have won in a landslide. I don't think it would have been much different. 50% of the country agreed with your point of view and the other half thought Nixon was the better candidate (not that he was, I'm just saying at the time alot of people thought JFK was too young and inexperienced. He later proved them wrong.

  • When I was taking history classes in school, I learned that Prohibition was a failure - that it should have never been instituted and that a large chunk of the population violated the law. No one thought anything of that - but somehow when rumors come out that Joe Kennedy was doing violating it - it is a big deal. My father bootlegged - on a much smaller scale - he sold wine out of his house. I could care less if Joe Kennedy bootlegged.

  • Re the 1960 Election in Texas. Texas was controlled by LBJ not the Kennedys. JFK won Texas by 40,000 votes - that is considered too large a margin for fraud. I am aware of the Texas story - in detail - and I don't give it any credence. The articles to be written that claimed fraud in Illinois - was to be written by a ultra conservative suppporter of Nixon. Undoubtedly it would have ignored reports of Republican fraud in the Northern part of the state.

  • Whether one believes that JFK was killed by one person or by a conspiracy, one thing is for sure, hatred is what killed him and it is on full display here.

  • I am correct. He had 303 electoral votes with Illinois. If he had lost Illinois, he still would have won because he had enough electoral votes. The teamsters union in Illinois which was controlled by the Mob supported and donated to Richard Nixon's campaign. A recent poll of 65 historians using 10 categories of presidential performance voted JFK the 6th greatest President of the U.S. As for the divine retribution stuff, I am not into that and cannot go there.

  • Do you think that since the time of the 1960 presidential election all races have been played fair and square? If you do, you're stupidly naive. Whether by a slight of hand or a full blown back door deal, I would bet my life that every presidential election since then has been 'fiddled' with. Gore/Bush for instance.

And to those who say JFK was an awful president because he used connections to win votes in Chicago, he never repaid the debts he accrued. Because he was a GOOD PRESIDENT.

  • Oh the comments here. JFK did not need Illinois to win the election. He had enough electoral votes without Illinois. He was the bonafide Predient of the U.S. and a wonderful one at that. Even if things happened in Illinois, does not mean JFK knew about it or sanctioned it. Many believe that the Republicans were up to no good in Illinois also. Nixon had the support of the Teamsters (and therefore the Mob). The teamsters donated to his campaign. Let's not forget that Nixon freed Hoffa.

  • @tonyclifton2010 jfks face was totally intact. a knoll shooter could have hit kennedy on the right side of his face, blowing out his brains and blood onto the cops behind the limo. the harper piece of skull landed exactly where it would if the shot came from the knoll. if it was from the 6th flr y wasnt mrs connoly hit? y didnt oswald shoot when the limo came up houston? instead he waits till his view is blocked by a tree to take his 1st shot? watch the vid where kilduff points to his temple

  • @tonyclifton2010 your a fuckin idiot, if god did stuff like that youd be dead already, anyways nixon stole votes in california, took millions from the teammsters union and organized crime. he actually spent so much time with big members of the mafia his own secret service agents told him to chill out. JFK was 1 of our greatest presidents since the time of lincoln. if you really think sleepin with a couple whores effects our nation or world history ur retarded. id take clinton w/ monica over bush

  • @tonyclifton2010 his face & forehead were in tact after the shooting. the head shot entered near the temple/ ear & exited the back of his head. there was 2 shooters, witnesses saw smoke, and smelt gun powder coming from the knoll. they also heard shots coming from there and the school book depos. i doubt we will ever kno what really happened but theres just as much evidence to say he was shot from the front as there is the back. its sad that his presidency is sometimes overshadowed by his death

  • Oswald didn't shoot anybody!! JFK was shot in the face. If what you're saying is so true why do you feel the need to insult anybody who disagrees with you? Why can't you act like a grown-up?

  • He did not authorize the coup. Stop trusting Seymour Hersh and start reading the TRUTH. By the way, Tony, tell me who killed him.

  • @tonyclifton2010 That's all B.S. He tried to save Diem.

  • Who is Jack Kennedy? I know John F. and Jacky, but Jack?
