Secondly, you saying that he wrote the Army song is exactly like saying that any artist that ever uses any beat or cut from a song didn't write said song and rather the artist that influenced it did. Please feel free to look up the official Army page on the matter, Lieutenant Commander Souza is not listed... anywhere. Influenced? Yes. Write? Hell no!

The irony is the music was written by a U.S. Marine. Our Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force all have great songs that embody their fighting spirit and history. Since I was a Marine and a Soldier, I am torn between the two.
