Dont be confused, It actually take a considerable amount of air volume just to bring the manifold pressure up to barometric pressure, so anything after that is actually a good amount of additional air for the motor. Nice GLH, im trying to get mine happy, one day itll be running :)
Define original.. heh. The TBI motor that was in this car when I got it had no oil pressure. Aside from that, it ran great. The $100 turbo 2.2L engine/transmission that I swapped in in place of that motor worked great for a long time. I'm not sure if it was blown blown, but it leaked oil like mad. So I put the 2.4 in it's place.
Can't say I blame you, I can't imagine if you upgrade this thing with a stage 3 mopar package of crazier, 50 trim, holy hell the possibilities. Is the interior pretty decent? I know on our Omnis and Horizons, it was difficult to keep the interior intact.
@Ryoku75 Yup, that one wasn't actually a turbo motor. Just a N/A motor with a turbo on it.. The motor that's in there now is actually built to be turbo. Shouldn't grenade when I go over 300whp like the last one did. ;)
@unaclocker Is it the original GLH motor or a custom? I have a '90 Horizon I'd like to get a little more acceleration out of but not much, if you have any mods you're not using I might buy one.
I love watching the progress you are making with this car. Question: what kind of waste gate can actually cap as low as 3psi? Some rated for 5 minimum boost creep over 6 or more, but that's mostly cheap ones.
Factory SRT4 wastegate actuator. I get a spike to 5psi in the middle of the power band, about 3750-4250rpm, but the rest of it is dead on 3psi.. I agree, it's unusually low. Guess it's handy for having better control over the boost. I'm going to add boost control to my MegaSquirt and try turning it up electronically here soon.
3psi? Why don't you just run a hose from your heater vent to your intake?? LoL jk man

@unaclocker Do you still have one of those turbo engines?
