I was in the same situation bro where I was too worried about the time I had left because i felt i was takng too long on certain questions and didn't think throughly. I scored a 46 and was disappointed. I called my recruiter a day later (because i was embarrassed lol) and he told me it was all good and I'm taking my retest next week. I should do better since i studied. Just tell em man and study for retest.

Do they add the mathematical knowledge to ur arithmetic reasoning score when they compute ur final score? or do they just count the arithmetic reasoning as the only math towards ur general score on the asvab?

@adamsjay212 airforce minimum score on the asvab is a 36 if your looking at airforce. though your gonna want to aim higher the more technical job your looking into. mechanics your probably looking at atleast a 70 i believe.
You need a 50 to get in. A 70 will just give you a wider variety of jobs to choose from. Your individual index scores are what determines what jobs you qualify for. There are mechanical jobs that only require you to have scored at least a 44 or a 52.

They check your pulse, your hearing, they do a urine test checking for drugs and if u drink enough water, bloodtests, they check ur eyes, they make u do some exercises in your underwear to check your joints n stuff, n of course they check your lil piglet n your poopy hole

I know that they have a job called DAMAGE CONTROL in which people get instructed on how to put out fires and fixing the ship. They also have AIR RESCUE SWIMMERS which rescue people when they are on a tight spot. Can you tell me what kinda of jobs the AIR FORCE has for people that want to be firefighters? and what score in the ASVAB would i need to get to get that job?

Congrats man on joining the AF. Just a little bit of a warning: don't let your recruiter fool you. He is going to say you did great on the test no matter what. Jobs like firefighter don't have that many positions and even fewer vacancies so chances of getting into straight off are pretty slim.

i got the study book but i didnt look at it once, and the last time i was in school was 2008. it basically tests your knowledge in like 13 different parts of the test.

I got a 60. Its not too hard but its something you want to prepare for. Make sure you get 50 and up and moslty all the jobs are available to you. There are ten sections to the test and it takes about 2 hours to complete. Make sure you get some sleep and focus. Thats all you need. The highest the math part goes up to is factoring so make sure you know that. Relax when you take it cause its easy

it all depsnds on what you study on and how many questions you get on it. people have gotten 50s on the practice and ended up getting 35s and stuff. i failed mine last months and im studying again to retake it soon if i dnt pass this time i have to wait 6 months for the Marines and the make matters worse they rasied the score to a 50 now. so its like i need to pass the test as if i got a GED which blows my recruiter even said they went up with the air force and navy aswell. just keep at it bro

there's really no way to improve vocab..either u kno it or u dnt but if u gettn 25's then it's prolly bcuz ur not doin well in the Math and Paragraph part. U should study the ASVAB book. Goodluck man. U tryna be a Marine?

congrats on getting into the air force...I do have a question for you if you don't mind answering....did you take the practice asvab when you first went to the recruiter? you know like in the back in their office (at least that's how it was for me)...if so, could you tell me what you got and how your score improved or decreased on the actual tes...thanks

i took a pretest when i first went to go see my recruiter and i got a 60 on tht wat....then on my official ASVAB at MEPS i got a 72 so yea it def improved

in math knowledge id make 47 and arithmetic reasoning 51 where im fucked up is in word knowledge and paragraph comprehension, only this time i improve a little bit in paragraph comprehension

NO!!! the asvab is AT MEPS. MEPS is the name of the place where you take your asvab, its Military Entrance Processing Station.

i got the study book but i didnt look at it once, and the last time i was in school was 2008. it basically tests your knowledge in like 13 different parts of the test.

I got an 82. I woulda goten higher but I didnt do so hot in the math (74 percentile). 99 in electronics, science, and technology though.

I bought an asvab book from barnes and noble and Ive been doing practice test on the website you showed. I read below that you want to do cyber security. I heard thats a really good job. The air force has some crazy computers and crazy technology. I hope you do well

I got a 60. Its not too hard but its something you want to prepare for. Make sure you get 50 and up and moslty all the jobs are available to you. There are ten sections to the test and it takes about 2 hours to complete. Make sure you get some sleep and focus. Thats all you need. The highest the math part goes up to is factoring so make sure you know that. Relax when you take it cause its easy

Hey, I am joining the U.S. ARMY in July. Was the ASVAB really hard? I have to score a 50 because of people constantly trying to enlist (the economy is so bad). At least I am not Enlisting for the benefits.

it all depsnds on what you study on and how many questions you get on it. people have gotten 50s on the practice and ended up getting 35s and stuff. i failed mine last months and im studying again to retake it soon if i dnt pass this time i have to wait 6 months for the Marines and the make matters worse they rasied the score to a 50 now. so its like i need to pass the test as if i got a GED which blows my recruiter even said they went up with the air force and navy aswell. just keep at it bro

I guess just have to keep studying man I took the real test today the paper and pensil version today and got a fuckig 15 yo And a week ago I got a 25 on the practice so what the fuck man you know And where are you at that it's at 50 now here in Florida it's only 31 for people that have a diploma

Im in NY and yea that whats been going on its a 50 now to get in pple are saying that Obama rasied the score and also its just my guess but everyone is joining like crazy there were only 3 infrantry jobs left JUST 3!!! not even. pple are losing money and not caring anymore and willing to join the military because its rough bro im not joining because of the job thing but yea its rough it pisses me off though cuz i have a HS diploma and im also in college i graduate in march wit my A.O.S 3.3GPA

I have man I talked to a bunch of recuriters some say I'm dq some say with a waiver and some say no chance in hell is there someone else I can talk to you think or Anything else I can do Cuz they told me that they don't want waivers any more And all my charges where fenoly but then they all got droped to misdominer and that shit was when I was a juvenile. If you can help me out or if anybody can I really whant to get in a branch that's the only thing holding me back right now....
