Hello again, I'm converting my mp9 tki 2 to electric as well, had enough of nitro. Mate it's in the works, I have a tekin 2650
Motor with rx8 coming from a main hobbies. I'm going to run 2 x 2a lipo that are 90c, ridiculous I know, they are 5500mah. How long to you guess they will run until low? 10 minutes? 15 mins?
I recently took my MP9 TKI2e out to norcal hobbies for Christmas break. Wow that car handled great. Kevin Jelich happened to be working at the track at the time and was trying out everybody's car including the 1/5scale losi sc that somebody brought. He drove mine and just couldn't flip the thing. He, like most other people who drive the mp9 was impressed with the handling.
Went back to San Diego after the break and drove it once at SDRC and it still handles like its on rails. Great Car!
@timsk Hey I have been DYING to try the new 8th scale track. My old MP9 started its life as a Nitro and the guy who had it before me converted it to electric. I just have not had the chance to get out to NorCal. Its annoying too because I only like like 2 miles away. Glad you are loving your TKI2e. As much as I love my MP9 I bet the newer versions are even better and more durable. Thanks for the great comment! - J
@Lincoln1704 - Thanks man. It is the newer style of the Inferno MP9 Nitro body. Sadly the sides were still not tall enough to fit over the huge battery. I have purchased a proper MP9e body and it sits unpainted in a bag. I have not had much time for RC this year. But hope to get back into it regularly this summer. Cheers and happy driving!
@Lincoln1704 Thanks so much! I looooove the MP9, so balanced and fast. Honestly, its very easy to drive for an intermediate driver. Good luck on your MP9 its a blast.
@Homer9x9 Hey man thanks so much for the comment. It was my first time on a track with an 8th scale buggy. I try and be as precise as possible and make sure to always look ahead. With 8th scale I am not sure I will ever be aggressive enough. I am too cautious in races. This works fairly well with my Kyosho Ultima RB5 RWD buggy in races and especially track days. Less broken parts.
@HeliDragon510 The most important thing at races is, to make as little as possible mistakes or crashes. and it's so helpfull to drive concentrated, precise and not very aggressive. Because if you have a crash, it takes more time than driving slowly. And you can be sure, the others will make a mistake and than you can overtake them.
I always try to exert much pressure to the guy before me, and than he will make a mistake!
you have to take part in races and than you will see, you are not so bad!
@MRAlrounder I got it at my local hobby store. They have a great selection of parts. Hor-Cal Hobbies in Union City, CA. USA. That Servo has been amazing. Super powerful and bullet proof so far.
i totaly love this video man i like your mp9......it is the best one i have ever seen..actualy it is the first one lol but i think you have some talent on that!!
@MooseDrool513 Yeah I realized that these are in fact City Blocks after @RCD3vil suggested I run them and what do you know I am already running them. I noticed almost all 8th scale electrics out there are running City Block tires if they are running AKA's.
Most likely I'm going to start out with a ve8. I've seen a couple in person and really like the way they drive. If I like it I will switch to the HHH chassis which allows the ve8 to run dual 2s batteries in a saddle pack formation.
As for tires I am currently running a set of losi xtr's that I bought off the rctech forums for $15 for all four but I want to try some tires from a company called Sweep Racing. But I've hear that a lot of people run AKA City blocks or ibeams. If I were you the nex
@RCD3vil I have heard good things about the VE as far as an RTR goes. Good luck! Actually it turns out I am running City Blocks already. I think I am going to stick with them. I just need a new set soon.
@RCD3vil See that is one of the things I like most about NorCal. Especially with my Kyosho RB5 buggy. I like being forced to adapt to the varying track conditions. It keeps things fresh and helps me improve my driving style. I all I have are tires for a hosed down track and it is dry and loose, I adapt and I like that.
@HeliDragon510 i can understand that. i guess for me its tough because im running extremely modded cars, im always customizing them and its hard when i cant get to norcal very often to test them out. and when i do get around to going to norcal im only there for 3-5 hours and its hard to dial in 3 cars in that amount of time. im sure over summer ill have a similar mindset to yours but right now im a senior in highschool so it'd be nice to know my cars were just dialed.
Car looks great! Could really uses some different tires for the dusty, dry norcal track. That track changes sooo much it's not even funny. I hope to have a 1/8 by the summer time and can't wait to race
@RCD3vil Hey thanks! Those tires are what Joel included with the roller. What tires would you suggest I use? Look forward to sharing the track with you. What are you going to build? Seems like a lot of folks like to use a 1900kV as the 2250's are a bit hot, but my goodness she is quick! Thanks again and see you at the track!

Hi again, what cover is that? It goes not look like a mp9e cover cause the windows are different? Is it just a stock cover for mp9?
Great buggy man, still given it a bash often?

@HeliDragon510 ya the worst thing about norcal is the constantly changing conditions for their tracks. but thats what you get in the bay area.
