This is great! I've always loved Eureka and miss it. I went to Northside, Mulberry and Tonavay outside of town for 6th grade. We moved after that, but I still have ties there and surrounding counties. I oftened wondered what my life would have been like if we hadn't move a way. We''ve managed to come back a few years. My dad had an electrical business there way back when. Knapp Electric.
This song makes the town seem a lot better than it actually is. It's pretty much just a shitty little town overrun with obese white trash and meth heads. Great place to write a song about!
@SquishyCool you must not know the good people of this town. Every town has it's problems. We choose to look at the good things. I am truly sorry you have not had the opportunity to engage with the finer things Eureka has to offer.
Great video! My hat is off to the songwriter, singer, and video producers!
I think most of the kids from the EHS class of 1969 have fond memories of growing up in a community where everyone knew who you were. When we were kids, if you did something wrong your parents knew about it before you got home! I believe that's how Eureka has produced so many hard-working, responsible people who care about each other. GB
This is MY hometown!! I was born in Greenwood county hospital and didn't move away until i was 14. Went all the way through Mulberry Elem (which doesn't even exsist anymore). I still go back to visit, every once in awhile. But the town sure has changed since I was there. Especially with Matt gone. :o(
The Exordium: As the video was put together it was very difficult to decide what to add. There are so many great things and the committee realized there would be so many opinions on what should be in the video. That is why we started the contest concept so that anyone could create a video showing what they is great about our community. This video was not intended to tell the whole story, only begin the process of telling the story of EUREKA, KANSAS USA!!
This video and this channel was not created as a forum for hatred. Hateful and negative comments will be removed. Please respect our opinions of our town and the fact that we think it is a great place to live! If you don't like the video or the content simply don't watch it.
I can't remember why the race track closed but we certainly lost revenue from its closure. I think the video could have used something more about the community helping one another or perhaps about our school and football team.
I think a lot of fond memories growing up here was heading to the creek and catching frogs and crawdads and feeding the goats at Maple and 5th. Those were great times.
Wow. Someone had something negative to say about something positive. I grew up in a large city in the northwest of the US, and being here in Eureka is WONDERFUL! I love being apart of a caring, giving, fun community. And yes, the Race Track is closed-it is sad and we'll always value the track as apart of our history. God gave us the will to create the lives we want to live; and many of us enjoy living in Eureka and wouldn't change it for the world!!! The video shows what makes Eureka beautiful!
I lived there several years and have lots of friends that still live there. I was very pleased with the town and all the history it has. I have children born in the Eureka Hospital . We did all our shopping and worked in Eureka for many years. If you don't like the town then leave and don't bother other people who enjoy the town.
I love this so much. I lived there for about 5 years till I moved
