  • On which of Doobie's albums can I find this music of "awesomeness"?

  • fucking sucks

  • @fightlol4 Nope.

  • I love that Paiste ride!!!!!!

  • Sick! I think the crash is a trashformer

  • Alright so he has a crash a splash a ride a china and a small hat or is that cymbal next to the splash just a bigger splash oh well still great drumming in spiteof the wierd setup of the set

  • wassup wit his crash

  • sick pocket and very nice ideas.

  • 1:35 he just went off the cymbal and the tom in one hit. Silly.

  • @jsmooov88 You gotta love accidental stuff like that. I would guess that small splash was just too close to the tom and got in the way when he went to hit the tom. A placement thing to consider when setting up the set for a great effect no?

  • @livingmusic37 It looked intentional though. Still sounded good too.

  • 5.47<<now thats how u feel up a drum kit

  • nice!

  • i jut dont understand the cymbal set up...

  • Ah man, I miss music like this. I go to a mostly white church sometimes with my friend cause I'm in college now. The music's got the same message and everything, but it's just missing this soul.

  • I love the fee on this song...

  • He's killin' the kit! I grew up as a little girl listening to my Daddy play the drums! I'll soon have my own kit. . . lookin' forward to learning and playing. It's nothing like it! Very inspirational and the worship is awesome! Thank you for posting! While typing I caught the bk. grnd vocals. . . y'all betta sang "Lorrr-awwwwd!" 4:15-4:18 :0)

  • 9:24 SPANKIN

  • Copelands Ride is blue

  • This what I call musicianship. Especially the drummer. Keeps it pocekt, and doesn't do what he knows that he really could. NICE!!!!

  • @wardrumma

some are it depends on which kind u get an which sound it got

  • yeah,. that cymbal is molded purposely for the effect sound it gives... i thought it was pretty crafty to not play with a crash, im quite sure its one laying around in the street,.. if he needed one! ...lol...

  • skeet, your groove is so positive bro..

  • you guys shud go hear music in a catholic church, oh man talk bout boring dry non feelin music.

  • @adzug I play drums at my catholic church....im black....so we get down lol. We play contemporary music at our mass time. Earlier masses are the traditional ones.

  • By the way, it would have been funny if Kevin had went for Making his Band. It wouldn't even have been fair to the other keyboardists.

  • Yea I do agree with that cause kevin is like crazy good and them keyboardists they had on the show wasn't all that. But that white boy on there was pretty cool with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol it wouldn't

  • The neo soul groove is smooth as glass ... you KNOW you are nodding your head right now. Don't even lie.

  • 4 SHO!!!!!!!

  • Hey I dont know if yall watch the P diddy (Making his band) but the big dude in the brown shirt at 9:18 looks like the dude who tried out for the show and made it. He did last that long cause he came out the first round cause he couldnt read music but dude was crazy good.

  • i think dat is him

  • Man if it aint him he must have a twin cause they look like twins.....

  • it iz kriss brooks hes from detriot and he's COGIC too

  • suck a prick dahunters

  • u only said dat cuz u know u felt dumb as hell

  • no because u dont have to be an ass about a simple mistake ''that happen a long time ago''

  • watever i bet yo face look like an ass

  • serious neo soul groove followed by some super tight pocket. skeet is a monster

  • yesirrr crazy neo-soul vibe

  • groove is crazy

  • Skeeter started goin in 6:03

  • Doobie sounds good.

  • da fuck was that 3:78

  • there is no 3:78 smart ass

  • that has to be the cleanest groove in the start of the video

  • OMG that a sick groove man!!!!!!!

  • Groove starting at 9:18 was pretty nice.

  • yup

  • sick groove after da break

  • that is not a crash

  • lol wutever that is they need to throw it away or set it on a wuhan to get that trashy feel

  • there is a sea of board players. crazy.

  • That was a nice rhythm starting at the 6:00 mark.

  • Comment removed

  • maybe they had some high overtones and he didn't like that. he also may have wanted some focus and attack in the stroke.

  • because if you are playing in a musical it's a lot more about the singers and the ensemble as a whole...loud, ringing, drums just aren't the thing for that.

  • wats the deal with the crash?...or the lack thereof

  • i think datz wat he wanted if u listen to da song it really needs a trashy sound frm da crash nothin too heavey or bright

  • i hear u but it only works for this song. When they did "In Spite of it All" that song NEEDED a crash

  • that ride is gettin stolen

  • ima need whoever owns that kit to take off ALL THAT TAPE!!!

  • It's suppost to damp the sound so it won't ring so much

  • A small bit of tape will do. LOL. Dude already has Ebony Pinstripes! Those a really thick/Heavy heads, so they don't ring out too much. But maybe that was the sound the drummer was looking for that night or somethin'

  • If you got tape on your heads then that mean your bottom head needs 2 be tone right so you wont have that ring sound. But the snare sounds right!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Samething I just said lol it's probally the sound that drummers who were proforming were looking for even if it was me If I don't any gels or studio rings at a concert then tape would be the easy thing for me to get my hand on because sound men alway has it on them and it subsitute gels, rings etc. when you don't have them on you at that time

  • Studio Rings are a bad idea in a live setting bro. I would personally go with the most open sound I can achieve...

  • Comment removed

  • Just like I said it's all about the sound your looking for when your performing live or just in small room setting. I personally like to sound out when I'm playing at a live concert so I don't use studio rings unless I'm in a small church or small area setting

  • I agree with you. Live sets you need that open sound coming from the drums. You never wanna CHOKE the sound of the drum. It's also helps if your drumheads ( Top And Bottom) Are brand new and tuned right! That's only if that drummer cares about how they sound on the set.

  • LOL. Right. Only, I think its better for you to get new heads at different times. Get the Resonant Heads first, That way you have time for them to "Seat" on the drum. When you buy both Batter and Resonant heads at the same time, its harder to tune the drum.

  • It does takes time for the HEADS (Top and Bottom) to sit right on the shell but I wouldn't say buy your Batter and Resonant heads at different times.

  • I try not to get really technical with my tuning I just go by how I was taught in high school or in church pre-rehearsals how to tune my toms they gave me a book that shows different ways you can tune toms I had it in middle school.

What I do is listen to different songs by ear and listen to the toms from high to floor on how it sound so I can tune it like that.

I guess you can say I have a sound memory it really shows that you can play by ear. ''lol''

  • I get the Remo clear Pinstripe or remo clear heads they are really easy for me to tune and I don't have to worry about that crappy ring sound

  • Doobie can sang did you hear the run on 4:42 and 3:20

  • hes a beast yo i want lessons lol.......nah im serious

  • skeeter is so killin!!!!

the groove on the snare at the beginning is so beautiful...

  • That Copeland Signature Ride sounds real good... I really wwant one... They cost so much lol

  • that isnt the copeland ride it isnt blue enough to be

  • Yeah, it's DEFINITELY not the Copeland Ride. It's the Paiste Signature Dark Metal Ride.

  • @timmdogg06 and it sounds so wonderful

  • OMG they are ill man where they from? What would it take to have them come to the Midwest?

  • They're from Connecticut. You can hit Doobie up on myspace if you're interested in booking. Just look up H. Doobie Powell
