  • not as good as the BBC's

  • Hilarious settings: distant hills at Gt Yarmouth!!! Ha ha! They have obviously never been to Norfolk & Suffolk. I grew up in Blundeston, and the Rookery (the Vicarage) really exists and was one of my haunts. The church there is famous for it's round tower - here in the film is a square towered church. Nothing in this film is properly researched (including a Suffolk accent)!

  • Thank you, this is my favorite version. I have the DVD but it's Region 2.

  • I belong to that age ♥ I'm so sure ♥

  • WISH I COULDA LIVED IN THESE TIMES. WOULDA BEEN A REAL GENTLEMAN

  • Is that the guy who played the scarlet pimpernel?

  • One thing i do know. They#re is nether Thunderstorms in england.

  • @fazlam i know you wrote that message ages ago, but theyre are thunderstorms in england. not often as loud as that but they do happen. and it rains like that quite a lot =)

  • @e7l13 My bad, that's what I meant, they're never thunderstorms like that in england. I've seen them in warmer countries though so it seemed out of place

  • Am I the only one who pictures the Peggotys as black in the book? Particularly Ham and Mr. Peggoty

  • @cheezitstandard nop, me too, and if not black, yes really dark skinned DX

  • @cheezitstandard I didn't imagine them black, but surely not the way they look here either.

  • @ ApostleCreed10

Thankyou thankyou thankyouuuu soooo much for uploading it!!!! :))) I'm a huge Charles Dickens fan. David Copperfield is one of my favourite books. I had watched this movie on Hallmark channel years ago. Do you have the BBC version of David Copperfield? The one with Daniel Radcliffe in it? I sooo wanna watch that one too.

And also, what's the matter with these haters that I'm seeing below? Why don't you block them?

  • I love the fact that Anthony Andrews, the actor who portrays Murdstone, had played Steerforth in the seventies.

  • @ApostleCreed10SUCKS lol,what a dick.fail again you moron.

  • I thought Ham was 14-17 not 25-30O_O

  • that's the wrong hand davy !

  • This looks like it was made at about the same time as the version with Daniel Radcliffe

  • Any chance of uploading the other version with Maggie Smith and Emilia Fox ?? BBC 1999 I think - Sally Field is a bit over the top here.

  • hahaha since the day English people discovered tea, all they wanted was tea anfd they even spread it all over the world.

  • i hate tea..all things tea..ugh

  • me too and I never have it. but its god without milk in it, milk is whta gives it that lousy taste. but I love coffee. I like chinesse tea, and plain tea. A good way you can drink plain tea is by drinking it while eating suger.

  • @goodluckpeace44 tea comes from china

  • don't boo me but i do not like Sally Field in this role and i love her, but unfortunately Maggie Smith is phenomenal.

  • i know i love her too but this role is just not workin for me. im so used to her being the loving person. but no she is playin a rude loud character and it just doesnt work. it seems like she is trying why to hard its seem kinda of animated.

  • It may be a bit animated but as I read the novel I felt that Betsy Trotwood is more exhuberant than Maggie Smith played the role, though she did nothing short that inhabit that Character. Sally Field doesn't do that bad a job of it either.

  • agreed..i'm having to look past her ..or i'll shut it off..
