Witnin Temptation is great band ... If u Like Nightwish and Evanescence,I think you`d like this band ... Angels,Memories,The Howling ... those are my favourite songs from Within Temptation but there are many others also great :)))
I really like almost all of the songs from xandria.

You could also look up Epica and like Sirenia or something. There's also Within Temptation, but they define themselves as symphonic rock, not metal.
And Lacuna Coil, although they're a bit softer...
