I love this band. I remember seeing these guys back in the eighties and laughing my ass off at the drunken antics on stage. In hindsight, that may have contributed to their never breaking big like they deserved.
Saw them at Pinkpop in 93 I guess... one of the opening acts and they just blew me away and always have!! So sad they are not around doing their shite anymore but they will always be in my CD player and heart!!!
@DreaminMyLifeAway he is not so talented but he means it and that's importand, the music that people make these days are mostly a bunch of lies and crap. Who can you trust? Pete Doherty or John Frusciante? I really don't know...
@johnsydjimi man, I really hope you didnt mean to say that John Frusciante doesnt feel his music. He is likeee... the most passionate musician ever. And I am really looking forward to the bob forest movie
@DreaminMyLifeAway I'm saying that they do feel the music but in these times it's hard to belie in something. there in nothing to fight for anymore. I hope that someone wil make a honest movie about John Frusciante. And I hope that the bob forrest movie will be honest too ;)
@DreaminMyLifeAway Dude, maybe it's not your style, but that doesn't mean he is a shitty vocalist. It's not always about sounding pitch-perfect. In fact, people have been doing that in popular music forever, and it's old already. It's about being expressive, and I think Bob Forrest sounds super honest and it matches the mood perfectly. Go listen to Capt. Beefheart and be reborn.
ive always wondered how some shitty rappers who have other guys write songs for them can top the charts yet bands like thelonious monster who are incredibly talented yet they dont even sell their albums in stores anymore
In guitar tone i think "Saviour" by the Chilis is influenced in tone (probably not directly, seen as the tone's pretty popular) in the way that it gives that spacey stadium feel.
@goodvibesallround Nah it just means you have more influences. John Frusciante, for example, listens to such diverse music to induce a creative atmosphere for writing music that draws from so many different sounds that it doesn't conform to a particular genre, and becomes its own thing.
@Riion93 well is it not possible to have to much influence that your just copying a sound rather than being totally unique. I'm not saying all influences are bad. But i think ou can loose your own voice in the process.
cuby you've listed 4 songs that you in your opinion this song sounds like, i'm almost certain that any song you listen to you could work out and analyze that it sonds like a bunch of others, just others you can tell easier than others, fair point it has a hint of white room but there is still enough to make it different
This song brings back many great memories. A girlfriend lived at that time at a student house. I was stoned/drunk and fucked her while this album was playing continous.
I hate to see all you guys fucking up songs,, by comparing those songs with other songs and bands,, there are so much fucking riffs in the music world and songs that look like the same,, it doesn't matter, just listen to the song and say what you think about it,, STOP COMPARING!
well yeah the progression sounds pretty well the same as white room, as well as the lead wah guitar... but the vocals and phrasing are quite different, so people who aren't cream fans probably wouldn't notice
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Basic Rhythm cords of the intro are the same as "The needle and the damage done" by Neil Young,"Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd or "Layla", but the distinct sound of the solo guitar is a wah pedal and Dm pentatonics, same notes as "Johnny B Good" by Chuck Berry in a different order. Go!
I used to have a tape, but I lost it...please can you tell me where to find the cd, or can you post the number: If you want to know where the rainbow ends, it is you whose got to go there and find it my friend???? PLEASE! You would give me the rainbow!

1989... John Frusciante was about to be the lead Guitarrist of Thelonious Monster...
Then Flea and Anthony recruited him to make another amazing band...
i Was wondering, if John was their guitarrist, maybe we would not have this two great bands.
LucasHormann 6 months ago 3
@LucasHormann Thelonious Monster would have definitively been bigger. As big as RHCP? don't know, I doubt it though.

haha, you think a d pentatonic and a wah makes it sound like johnny b good? you might as well say it sounds like the outro to dani california.
