  • I love this band. I remember seeing these guys back in the eighties and laughing my ass off at the drunken antics on stage. In hindsight, that may have contributed to their never breaking big like they deserved.

  • thumbs up if you have heard of this song because of the John frusciante interview

  • man... the number of views is humiliating... i found my self just looping it like 500 times only today just to make it grow :(

  • Heeey!

    BYE :D

P.S Like this if you like the song :D

  • @MineMisha

    Goddag :)

    Farvel :(

  • @MineMisha

    Guten Tag :-)

    Auf wiedersehen :-(

  • because the sheep run the world hilleislovkrip....

  • 1989... John Frusciante was about to be the lead Guitarrist of Thelonious Monster...

Then Flea and Anthony recruited him to make another amazing band...

i Was wondering, if John was their guitarrist, maybe we would not have this two great bands.

  • @LucasHormann Thelonious Monster would have definitively been bigger. As big as RHCP? don't know, I doubt it though.

  • Saw them at Pinkpop in 93 I guess... one of the opening acts and they just blew me away and always have!! So sad they are not around doing their shite anymore but they will always be in my CD player and heart!!!

  • I've wanted to kill myself but I've always been too scared

  • @budlite187 LOL

  • bob is shitty singer, sorry to say it, I love the band and him as a writer but no his vocals

  • @DreaminMyLifeAway he is not so talented but he means it and that's importand, the music that people make these days are mostly a bunch of lies and crap. Who can you trust? Pete Doherty or John Frusciante? I really don't know...

  • @johnsydjimi man, I really hope you didnt mean to say that John Frusciante doesnt feel his music. He is likeee... the most passionate musician ever. And I am really looking forward to the bob forest movie

  • @DreaminMyLifeAway I'm saying that they do feel the music but in these times it's hard to belie in something. there in nothing to fight for anymore. I hope that someone wil make a honest movie about John Frusciante. And I hope that the bob forrest movie will be honest too ;)

  • @DreaminMyLifeAway Dude, maybe it's not your style, but that doesn't mean he is a shitty vocalist. It's not always about sounding pitch-perfect. In fact, people have been doing that in popular music forever, and it's old already. It's about being expressive, and I think Bob Forrest sounds super honest and it matches the mood perfectly. Go listen to Capt. Beefheart and be reborn.

  • Kinda sounds like Hendrix is playing the guitar.

  • @pastorofmuphets This was actually Frusciante's band before he joined RHCP

  • @StickE311297 not really, he was nearly in thelonious, but they never recorded anything or something like that

  • @StickE311297 he had an interview but chili's asked him to join them n he said fuck ye as ne1 would...

  • this song is good

  • Can you upload the song ...and the rest of the band?

BF wrote it about Kim. A girl who Anthony K hung with.

  • i found out that frusicante started out here and decided to listen to them thinkin they wer gonna be crap but there not that nad

  • i prefer the live version

  • ive always wondered how some shitty rappers who have other guys write songs for them can top the charts yet bands like thelonious monster who are incredibly talented yet they dont even sell their albums in stores anymore

  • @hillelslovakrip i found this cd at goodwill today for 2 bucks...

  • @KOSMICKEN09 seriously? could you burn it and hook it up?

  • Man I want this album! But they took it out of sale, right? :'(

  • i bought it off ebay for 12.00. Only cause i couldn't find a torrent.

  • In guitar tone i think "Saviour" by the Chilis is influenced in tone (probably not directly, seen as the tone's pretty popular) in the way that it gives that spacey stadium feel.

  • this is amazing

  • i always wondered if listening to much different types of music would hamper your own creativity?

  • i think that every day when i write tunes

  • i know i don't get why people are so pissed at me? it's a legitimate question! Then again people who are ignorant are afraid of everything.

  • i agree with you dude people are close minded douche bags nowadays

  • @goodvibesallround Nah it just means you have more influences. John Frusciante, for example, listens to such diverse music to induce a creative atmosphere for writing music that draws from so many different sounds that it doesn't conform to a particular genre, and becomes its own thing.

  • @goodvibesallround i dont get what you mean ?

  • @Riion93 well is it not possible to have to much influence that your just copying a sound rather than being totally unique. I'm not saying all influences are bad. But i think ou can loose your own voice in the process.

  • cool

  • Put the live one at pink pop up.

  • cuby you've listed 4 songs that you in your opinion this song sounds like, i'm almost certain that any song you listen to you could work out and analyze that it sonds like a bunch of others, just others you can tell easier than others, fair point it has a hint of white room but there is still enough to make it different

  • White room by cream that is,

  • this album is amazing, you gotta put all of the songs up for all the good people lol

  • Wow! I haven't heard this 1 for a LONG time! Awsome song. Thanx 4 sharing it, Peter!

  • you are wrong as hell cuby. it's very white room, but you are clueless.

  • respect ganzo =))

  • This song brings back many great memories. A girlfriend lived at that time at a student house. I was stoned/drunk and fucked her while this album was playing continous.

  • where can i download thelonious monster songs?

  • what a wonderful band.

  • I laugh at the self pittying people... come on get over yourself. you are not that special

  • This song is a great example of why this band went nowhere. Nothing but a rip off of 'White Room' by 'Cream'.

  • I hate to see all you guys fucking up songs,, by comparing those songs with other songs and bands,, there are so much fucking riffs in the music world and songs that look like the same,, it doesn't matter, just listen to the song and say what you think about it,, STOP COMPARING!

  • I did listen to the song and say what I thought about it.

Are you 12 years old or are you just retarded?

  • The only thing the two songs have in common is the wah, i love both songs but the riffs are ALOT different along with the pace of the song itself.

  • well yeah the progression sounds pretty well the same as white room, as well as the lead wah guitar... but the vocals and phrasing are quite different, so people who aren't cream fans probably wouldn't notice

  • Hey, I agree. I dig the tune, it's just not the model for creativity and/or great songwriting.

  • does anyone know where i can get the song Michael Jordan?

  • does anyone know the chords

  • haha, you think a d pentatonic and a wah makes it sound like johnny b good? you might as well say it sounds like the outro to dani california.

  • wow, ive been looking for this song for years, and then by random i stumble upon it. awesome. thanks for posting

  • you can buy the cd off ebay at the moment - some seller had 9 copies when i bought mine this week - well worth it

  • like many peeps here, been waiting for this song for a long time...

this band is scarce on the internet....

i've seen one minute of a live version of this song on the frusciante vpro interviews....

  • great song, glad people are listening.

  • fuck yeah

one of the greatest songs alive

  • classic song!!!!

    amazing the guy still alive.

  • I used to have a tape, but I lost it...please can you tell me where to find the cd, or can you post the number: If you want to know where the rainbow ends, it is you whose got to go there and find it my friend???? PLEASE! You would give me the rainbow!

  • damn! a great song! i was expecting this 1 year ago

  • Thank you for placing this song!!!!! I've been searching for it for a long time!!!!! Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can someone explain the word Thelonious for me? Maybe a synonymous?

  • I think I'm right in saying it means "The lonely".

  • Thelonius monster is play on tyhe name of jazz musician "thelonius monk"

  • I hear a bit of Cream's "White Room" in here, but hey that may just be me

  • yeah pretty much same chords

  • it reminds me of tales of brave ulysses.

I think the bassline at the one part is almost identical to the Ulysses bass riff.
