What's amazing is that their voices are live, and yet they seem to be lip synching. Today, you hear people talk about going to live concerts to hear their favorite singers and come away boasting about the stage show but not about the singer. I wonder why....

Loved both these stars for many years.....only gripe is Andy was always emotionless !! His expressions are always the same regardless of context. He hasn't that 'magic feel'...but has that 'magic voice' ....he always failed on that ....compared to other world known artists. Shallow and robotic.

she has a habit of slowing down her attacks, doing a rit, it works fine when she's alone, but when they sing at the same time, it makes him nervous. fortunately she gets it and she stops doing that by the middle of the song.

Damn...she was so good! So sorry for the problems that ended up derailing Connie's career.

I only knew her "Bubblegum" songs, so watching these videos has been a BIG revelation. The girl had a superb instrument; I didn't know she was that good.

Actually, M-G-M had an option to renew. When Connie signed she used as her model Joni James, who from the beginning at M-G-M chose her songs, chose her arrangers, was the uncredited executive director of her recording sessions and even supervised the cover art and liner notes. Barbra Streisand used the same model in signing with Columbia. The link between James, Francis and Streisand is they approached their careers intellectually.

She was so darned cute. In the early years of her career before "Who's Sorry Now" I worried over her because she just did not photograph attractively. Then M-G-M put that terrible cover on the "Who' s Sorry Now." Connie took matters into her own capable hands at that point and from there on she just looked more and more beautiful. I think she always WAS beautiful but she just happened to blossom into the right look when success came.

@waynebrasle With the recording Who's Sorry Now, Connie had fulfilled her contract with MGM. THen the song started climbing the charts and MGM wanted her back. She signed with them, but on her on terms..she had complete control over what she recorded, where she recorded, musicians on the sessions, photo shoots and ultimately what could be released by the company....Connie WAS Executive Producer, though she never received the credit for being so. She was one smart business woman.
