  • Ummm.... Honestly, if you get the chance to see these guys live... DO IT. They are AMAZING. Everything they do during their concert just blows you away... It's awesome.

  • Hell yes! Love it. This is a great band. This song reminds me of Sound Tribe Sector Nine.

  • reasperoooo.. super vacano.

  • if you like this song try and listen too the french band - air

  • 9 people missed the like button...wow people learn some aim.

  • just had an orgasm in my ears

  • 9 people disliked? even if you don't like the music.. that sounds AMAZING for being LIVE..

  • eat it, greg. eat it hard.

  • I give it an even 39 out of 39 for sure.....

  • wOOOOooow!!! i am officially a fan of mutemath....god how did i not discover these before???.....fucking hell!! amazing!!!!!!!

  • MuteMath has the best drummer of this entire decade!

  • damn saw them two nights ago in chicago fucking legendary show

  • This was unavailable for a while...glad they brought it back.

I love how when Mutemath plays shows, the stage is like their own musical playground, and they kill it.

  • i love the drumming in this so much, and i love hearing that they are just as good live as recorded :D will always be my favourite song.

  • @Forth3lulz I think they're way better live.

  • lol dude they are live,, this is a live take rofl

  • this song is crazy i just luv it

  • LOL!! @ 4:51

  • someone push the RESET button for me...genuine 5/5 always!

  • Holy fucking shity ass titty fuck ball lick taint suck...

    This band is amazing!

    Drummer = Holy SHIT.

  • now that is a real drummer; he just lays in the groove, fantastic timing, a simple but tight kit

    perfect

  • wtf is that istrument he plays at the end??

  • I think its a circuit bent Atari with touch a pad neck.

  • @thesoundofdistortion Your mom's a circuit bent atari with a touch pad neck....

I don't know why I said that, it sounded funny in my head. I'm sure your mom is lovely

  • I LOVE THIS SONG <3 Mute math

  • das ist genial, vor allem die schlagtaktung des drummers

  • major dummer

  • I am always so speechless whenever i see them/listen to them... man. everything else seems so mediocre nowadays

  • heck yes, love the atari solo!

  • Oh my good god... this is unreal. Mutemath, and this song in particular, sounds like a cross between Battles and Clinic. Exit/In's in Nashville right? What an ill set

  • err.. 09*

    haha

  • seen these guys 3 times....Fcking Great Band. Studio albums are all really good but LIVE PERFORMANCE SUPERB.

  • nice song

  • nice group..

  • 2:35 ....HOW???

  • delay and filters

  • drums through a looping station.. plus sequencers (kind of like a drum machine, paul is running it through pedals and stuff with delays and echos and distortion

and also the fact that darren is a BEAST of a drummer. :D

    mutemath is so amazing.

  • speaking of which what kind of drums are those?

looks like a rogers set with the little scripty thing and the tom mount but i dont know lol.

  • holy hell. i need to see these guys live.

  • nice! 4:14

  • so amazing

  • what the heck is he playing?

    is that something they made?

  • I wouldnt be surprised (amazingmato) they are wicked creative.. when i saw them live i didnt even want to blink or miss any of the crazy awsome stuff they did

  • They took an old Atari console, added a touch pad and did a little electrical tweaking. It's called circuit bending. Many underground electro musicians are into it and if i'm not mistaken, you can even find websites that sell contraptions like that pre-made!

  • got any links? you've got me hooked

  • Paul is my hero, I love seeing this band live. They are absolutely crazy on stage. They definitely put any other show to shame after going to a mutemath concert.

  • God the drummer is fuckin' sick in this song. Obviously all of it is fantastic, just a fan of crazy drums ;p

  • I love Mute Math! You should see the live David Letterman performance here on YouTube of "Typical", then "Chaos", and then their newest video, "Spotlight"! I just want to swim in their music, man! And the drummer's name is Darren King, btw! Lead singer: Paul Meany. Guitar: Greg Hill. Bass: Roy Mitchell-Cárdenas.

  • i bought this mp3 of amazon but is there any why i could get a recording of this version like it better then off cd?

  • Hey wadesfury this version is on the DVD called "Flesh and Bones Electric Fun." It's a live DVD, you can't go wrong with it.

  • Love this song, its just so trippy and it flows so well!

  • holy shit love the live glitching...i think im in love

  • mutemath!!! that's all i have to say.

  • Love the drummer in this band and the style/ type of keyboard ( Hammond ) like Ray Manzarek used in the Doors. I like the trend now that some Indie bands are using with old instruments and fusing old/new sounds. Very cool!

  • It's not a hammond, it's a Rhodes.

Hammond is an organ, a Rhodes is an electric piano.

  • the love the part that sounds like a whale singing!!!!

  • HOLY SHIT they're so tight live!!!

  • I would fuck that drummer.

  • we making a band is called kill guns and r 1st song is reset

  • Good choice.

  • That is the best band name with such a great song name nice work!!!! You are going to be so famous!

  • awesooooome!!

i hope they come to latin america some day.... :'(

  • Anyone know any other amazing bands like Mute Math? I've been looking forever but no one else comes close.

  • Battles

  • ALL HAIL KING DARREN

  • darren...darren...are you even aware of the incredible art you make percussion?

Musically, you and paul are like Wick & Wax.

    Just amazing creations there...Love Eternally.

  • what the hell was that guitar thing synthisizer whatchama call it? Paul was playing?

  • its call an Atari

  • Looks circuit bent

  • speechless :o

  • can anyone tell me where i can get a recording of this session. i have the one off the album i got from amazon but it is not as good.

    thx.

  • omg so amazing.

  • oh my gosh you guys are amazing!

call and response between drummer and drum machine!?

    respect

    lol

  • this all darren's song. im not saying he wrote it im just saying he's featured the most

  • That is a bomb ass drummer

  • Darren King is a fucking GOD.

  • FUCKING SICK

  • i learned the intro to this song

  • ok...about a 4 minuts in Paul meany drools a bit or has sweat dripping of his forehead or something, just shows how hard he's working

  • all out sweat bro

  • if you guys like this check out Neptune... it's like Mutemath thrown in a blender with nirvana.

  • If you guys like this check out mutemath it's like mutemath because it IS mutemath

  • thanks for the suggestion, im seriously going to check them out

  • it sounds about drum and bass like very cool !

  • Oh my gosh their drummer. Such phat beats. Anyone that likes Mute Math (especially this song) should check out STS9. Best live show you will ever see.

  • who know what is that really cool instrument he uses at 4:33??? really cool

  • this song always reminds me of half life...idk why! :/

  • radiohead is good mute math is good.

  • lol bizhan

  • All hail King Darren!

  • setanta, the person who introduced this band to me described them as "trying to be radiohead". which is funny because after hearing these guys, I sort of describe radiohead as "failing to be mutemath"

  • sure you do...

  • thats exactly what i think of radiohead now.

  • Haha, that's brilliant. And very true.

  • this is most pleasing

  • i meant 4:25

  • lawl, that was pretty cool

  • amazing drummer.

  • not at 0:25 i meant at like 4:25

  • lol! at like 0:25 paul looks like as if he has to finish a 10 sheet assignment in 5 seconds!

  • Why the fuck have I never heard of these guys. This is fantastic to say the least.

  • Mute Math Has Alwayz been my Fav. They Need To Put Some Of there songs in like Guitar hero and rock band

  • Mutemath is the best band on the circuit today. Darren's drumming alone is worth the price of admission.

  • dude i can so second that, def my fav drummer out there, band is crazy and so freaking good live

  • try Mike Portnoy from Dream theatre. Darren is very good... but Mike is better [in my opinion]:)

  • Both have their very unique way to play... You can´t compare them to another...

  • Dude, I thought they were another Radiohead imitation at first. But this is better. I love the way this guy runs around the stage using all these weird toys.

  • so intense........

  • This is one of my all time favourite pieces of music.

  • That drummer is Awesome

  • for the record im a grindcore fan, but i cant stop listening to mute math their fuckin addicting and chill.

  • they are so amazing.

  • If I had to have that much energy while drumming, I would be exausted after one song never mind a concert!

  • Looks like a Fuzz Factory and stuff on that guitar thing.

  • i think he was playing a osilater whic is a pitch bender

  • Actually I think its a guatari-a guitar they built from an atari

  • ENERGY!

  • I know right!

looks like a goddamn GWAR or rose funeral show! so much movement

  • I really love this song

  • They are simply amazing. Stunning artistry and sonic genius.

  • The soul was translated in music!

  • this performance will engulf youtube

  • the first video i saw of Mutemath....so awesome *sigh*.. i showed it to all my friends. The energy really had me.

  • what the hell was he playing???? Some Keytar??

  • It's called the Atari... a homemade synth musical instrument.

This is a classic Mute Math video; it'll always be one of my favorites. :D

  • The Atari

  • the atari

  • He's playing a instrument that I invented called the AxeSynth. The band nick named it "The Atari" because when it needed repair I replaced the original chip with the 76477 chip, which was used in the original Atari Space Invader's arcade game back in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

    Tony Amendolare

    ElectroKraft

  • their own musical instrument invention called the atari.

  • own invention, don't make me laugh

  • their drummer is beast, like freakin amazing

  • these guys in cincert are amazing, put so much energy into their shows, and they sound so good live... FREAKING AMAZING

  • Man, I love those delay effects he used on the drums!

  • innncedibllleee

  • Their music always amazes me..and ive been listening to the same album for a while now :D

  • I saw them with Matchbox 20 & Alanis. It was amazing. They took turns playing the drums in one song.

  • This was a much more balanced sound than that of their performance at the larger City Hall in early October 2007.

  • mute math is freaking awesome. if you dont like them chances are youre in some sort of coma.

  • when i grow up i wanna be just like darren! oh and what kinda drums is he using?

  • that was immense!

  • the drummer!

it's awesome, i love their music

  • Really Good Band Live ... It'sgood to watch musicians just play but, play well. Cool. They could end up having a good run if they want it.

  • mutemath is sick

  • yeah i agree...one of the best drummers around the world....and best performing group live too

  • Drummer has gotta be the best in the world, after good ol' Neil Pert though.
